Chanel`s Pre-fall 2010 is now arriving in stores. The theme: Paris-Shanghai. The Chinese megacity had been the perfect backdrop to present this fantasy collection last December.
The beautiful hommage was inspired by Shanghai`s louche past as the Paris of the East, when during the height of its glory in the 20`s and 30`s, the opium dens and nightclubs were all glamourous. A trip that Coco Chanel only made in her dreams.
My favourites are the black leather leggings with carved in camellia intarsias. I just do not want to find out how much they are…. I am very positive that it is a fortune.
The new Chanel store in Shanghai at the Peninsula hotel where you can find all these yummy exclusives.
To celebrate the Shanghai World Expo 2010, Chanel has also created a series of limited-edition accessories that are only available at stores in mainland China. Thank God the new boutique opened last year. The classic quilted flap bag with inside signature from Karl Lagerfeld “Shanghai Karl Lagerfeld” is divine. I really envy my Shanghai readers for being able to get your hands on this treasure. Send one over, please!
But there are more gorgeous accessories that will be available in other countries. What do you think of this adorable Take Away bag above to the left? I think it is a pretty hilarious and humorous take on fashion. I also adore the Chinese doll clutch and earrings.

If you are having an iPhone and want to carry your loved ones always with you, you will adore this: The personalized iPhone case. And no more confusion to whom the phone is belonging. Send in any photo you like and you will receive your own customized cover, available at Kids and the City for CHF 125.-.
Why should you be the only one getting a new wardrobe? Your iPhone might be tired of its boring plastic case… and on top of this it makes a great gift!

Rohmir was founded by former model and psychologist Olga Roh in 2007 and means in Russian Roh`s universe. The ready-to-wear line offers women a wardrobe in which luxury, elegance, glamour and intellectuality reign supreme. I especially like her cocktail couture. The prices are reasonable between CHF 500.- – CHF 1000.- for an evening dress. The blonde designer herself hails from Russian nobility and is now a resident of Monaco. It might be her own lifestyle that influences her creations, a mixture between Parisian chic and Slavic refinement. Her label is on the rise, inspired by the French 1920s and 1930s fashion, a culturally rich era and also a liberating time for women.
This spring, Rohmir`s first London boutique opened in Mayfair. The launch was attended by many UK-celebrities including TV-psychologist Linda Papadopulos, Britain`s Next Top Model presenter Lisa Butcher and well-known models Olivia Inge and Zoe Hobbs.
Last week Cartier hosted an event in Zurich to present their new Trinity collection with all models dressed in Rohmir creations. What a lovely match! Please see for yourself:

Are you happy that you have just managed to grab one bottle of Chanel`s turquoise must-have nail polish for summer “Nouvelle Vague”? Do not relax too long and get yourself on the wait list for the next round. Here is the new lovely collection from Chanel for Fall 2010: “Les Contrastes de Chanel”, said to be in stores in August.
Two nail polishes will be available, “Jade Rose 493″, a pale pink that had partnered already last year with the much hyped mint green “Jade”, gets a second chance at stardom. But it has some fierce competition in terms of a shimmery purple called “Paradoxe/Paradoxal 509”. I love the polish hysteria caused by Chanel`s new launches.
The collection will include some beautiful eyeshadows: Les 4 Ombres “Enigma” and two new single shades “Taupe Grisé” and “Vert Khaki”. The Inimitable Intense Mascara (my favourite at the moment) is announced in purple. I will definitely get my hands on this one as I am crazy for coloured mascara.
There will also be three limited edition blushes, so-called Joues Contrastes in “Rose Temptation”, “Pink Explosion” and “Plum Attraction”. The names are already mouth-watering for me just as the preview of the gorgeous glossimers and lipstick colours.
I cannot wait to see their swatches and try everything!

These boots are made for walking… and admiration. There is always a time and always a place to put on a pair of flat boots. From patent to suede, from colourful to neutral, there is a pair for everyone. The flat It-boot next season would be the riding boot – totally love the Manolos. The range is wide, the pirate style ones by Michael Kors would also be a great purchase just like the studded ones by Christian Louboutin. If you are worried about them looking too casual, these stunning versions are refined and polished, and dressy enough to wear to a variety of occassions and events.
Chloé wool-lined leather boots, approximately €850.-

News is: Velvet has made its comeback for F/W 2010. The rich fabric has many enemies, are you one of them who shudder to think of a post-90`s revival? Please do not and give it a chance! You may be pleasantly surprised. The designers used velvet, preferably red and oxblood coloured, in many striking ways. Alexander Wang showed probably the best collection to bring the velvet trend out of the 90`s and into the now.
Dolce & Gabbana kept it classic and elegant with vampy red draped dresses.
I also spotted historical references. Ralph Lauren got inspired from the medieval era whereas Zac Posen and Altuzarra showed sharp cut 70`s style trouser suits.
Hopefully I was able to convince the velvet haters among you. And if not yet, consider that just one single velvet piece like a well crafted jacket can create a sizzling dandy look without going overboard.
Inject a bit of velvet into your wardrobe and signal your sophistication!

Say hello to my object of desire from Balmain`s Pre-fall 2010 collection, available soon and already spotted on stylist Emanuelle Alt. The double-breasted navy blazer with detailed gold buttons is beautifully tailored with an amazing shoulder line. This is true effortless chic. A navy jacket is anyway something that everybody should have in their closet. Classics endure and surprisingly even Balmain can produce them!
I also love the single-breasted model (see showroom photos below), both will be available at net-à-porter or Designer am See among others.
Thumbs up for my blazer of glory!

It might be on short notice, but definitely not too late to get your hands on a gorgeous pair of leather shorts. An absolute must this summer that will stay trendy next winter.
My favourites are the lace-up ones by Alexander Wang with zippers on the side, available in brown or black. Combine them with a boyfriend blazer, an embellished top and stunning wedges (see above). Add a feodora hat for that certain twist or just wear them with cowboy boots and a little cardigan for your urban days off-duty like I did this week.
Here are some gorgeous versions from the S/S 2010 collections available at Net-à-porter or Browns. Do not forget, sale will be starting soon…. in the US it is already on!
3.1 Phillip Lim, £465.-
Fendi, €1060.-
Helmut Lang, €586.-
Or wait for those ones below from the F/W 2010 runways. Salvatore Ferragamo showed many different versions in suede and nappa leather.
Get ready to wow!

This year, Louis Vuitton celebrates the 2010 FIFA World Cup in its own way, with an advertising campaign, featuring soccer legends Pelé, Zidane and Maradona. Moreover, FIFA has a newfound focus on fashion and asked the famous French house to create a special order travel case to safeguard the solid 18-karat gold trophy until the final match on July 11th in Johannesburg. Naomi Campbell unveiled the result today. Since 1930 the trophy has traveled to host cities in an armored metal case, this year it will travel in style proving that security can be synonymous with elegance. Finally, soccer becomes interesting to me….

It is the meterological beginning of summer today. Let`s leave it like that. Probably we can convince the sun to come out with this stunning look for less money. It is an exciting mix of plaid and print having that certain something.
The modern bustier dress emphasises the feminine figure and is marked down already at $35.50. You can keep the picture sweet with a heart printed boyfriend jacket, available at Topshop for £55.-. Another shot of colour like the red hot bag for approximately $65.- adds lightness and joie de vivre. The mint green shoes by Charlotte Olympia are a real splurge but so worth it, my advice wait for the sale that will start very soon.
OPI`s glitter nail polish with little hearts would match the look perfectly “Heart to Resist”
Do not forget it is all about that special twist. Sometimes the oddest ideas boast the best combinations.
Be brave and punch the air!
