For my first look of the LuisaViaRoma Total Styling Lab, I took inspiration from the Marakkesh trend for summer. The Moroccan style head wrap and crochet dress was very appealing to me and cohesive with this trend. A breeze of the `70s finished off the look perfectly.
Crochet Dress: EMILIO PUCCI – Scarf: MARUCELLI – Strappy sandals: GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI – Bangles: DALIA – Bag: ROBERTO CAVALLI

A Moroccan spirit influenced many designers for their S/S 2011 collections which inevitably meant that Yves Saint Laurent, who had spent many years there, was in the air as well.
As the models stepped out onto the runway, you were immediately jetted off to North Africa with all those crochets, tassels, feathers, beads, fringes and Moroccan mirror details. The Sahara subtext was explicit in the colour palette, the Tuareg head wraps and tribal jewelry seen at Giorgio Armani and Salvatore Ferragamo for example.
Drop-crotch harem pants should be on your must-have list for summer.

After having solved some inital difficulties (launched already in spring 2010), Jil Sander’s new second lower-priced line called Jil Sander Navy is available in stores and online now and serves the casual part of a woman’s wardrobe.
The new micro website, created in collaboration with digital artist Raphael Rozendaal, is a visual, colourful and dynamic experience.
You will find classic trench coats, the familiar minimal shirt-dresses and boxy cuts. Jil Sander also ventures to technical materials such as cotton voile, micro twill and techno gabardine.
Probably not so exciting as Raf Simons creations for the S/S 2011 runway, but much easier on the pockets than the original Jil Sander line.

I left Florence filled with amazing memories and fully inspired. Stay tuned for many great photos and trend reports to be published soon.
When I am flying, I like to be comfy. Therefore I wore my grey sweatsuit by Stella McCartney Cruise 2011 along with my suede flat boots by Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011 and the fur jacket by Prada. Scarf by Matthew Williamson and hat by Balenciaga. As my suitcase was very heavy, I decided to take two pieces of hand luggage, my black Swarovski crystals embellished Balmain cross over suede bag and my leopard print Céline Boston tote.
Daniel from Stockholm Streetstyle took some great photos of me in front of the hotel and posted them on Caroline’s and his blog.
By the way, the hotel J.K.Place was gorgeous. Located in the heart of downtown Florenze, in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, in walking distance of all sightseeing attractions and shopping streets, it is a very special hotel experience. Small with only 20 rooms and suites, it doesn’t seem to be a hotel, it feels more like somebody’s house. There is one large breakfast table to accommodate all hotel guests in the morning. The interior design is very tasteful, contemporary and cozy. The service is outstanding, I have never felt so much at home in a hotel.
The best choice for fashionable people to stay in Florence!
Enjoy the photos, they are a feast for the eyes!

Saturday night was the final dinner party of Firenze4Ever. We started at Luisa Via Roma’s beautiful terrace and later on we went to the after party to a club called Colle Bereto where we had the whole VIP section for us.
So please enjoy the impressions of that fun night with the fashionable Florence crowd and all the lovely bloggers from abroad.

Word was out since quite a while but here are now the official photos of the first collection designed by a fashion blogger for H&M! The Swedish brand is always very forward and after my days in Florence with all the other bloggers, I am actually not wondering that they are the first ones to make this kind of collaboration. I think it is the way to go for the future. Unfortunately, the items will only launch in Sweden on the 3rd of February in 10 selected stores and 10% of the sales will be donated to UNICEF.
Elin Kling, the blogger who designed nine fashion pieces and two accessories for her minimalistic collection with bohemian influences for H&M has since 2007 been running Scandinavia’s largest fashion blog, called Style by Kling. She has won several awards, both for the blog and for the web-TV-show, inspired by the blog. Today, Elin Kling is working as a fashion director at her own fashion magazine Styleby, founded by Sweden’s largest media-house Bonnier. From blogging to print media, interesting!
And to drop a little hint: Sandra’s Closet for H&M Switzerland would be lovely…

Last night, we all went to dinner at Roberto Cavalli’s club after having drinks at Luisaviaroma before. I wore my sequined dress by Balmain (the one from New Year’s Eve) with a marabou cape and clutch by Balmain. The suede punk YSL pumps finished off my look.
Enjoy the photos and see who was there!!!! It was a wonderful evening…

Even while I am very busy in Florence, I don’t want you to miss anything. Breaking fashion news arrived today: Less than a month after Carine Roitfeld announced that she would leave the editor-in-chief’s position at French Vogue, the magazine named Emmanuelle Alt to succeed her, starting Feb. 1, 2011.
Emmanuelle had been French Vogue’s fashion director since 2000 (same year Carine Roitfeld became editor-in-chief). The decision to elevate Ms. Alt makes me assume that Condé Nast International does not want to change course. Ms. Alt knows the job and is very well connected.
Her rock style of skinny pants and Balmain jackets is not bad, isn’t it…?! Let’s see what she will be coming up with.
