Absolutely trending this F/W 2016 season is wrapping a silk scarf around the handle as seen on the Louis Vuitton runway or to tie a ribbon around it as Alessandro Michele did at Gucci.

I decorated my So Black Kelly bag recently with a 90 x 90cm silk scarf by Hermès. Stay tuned, the complete look will be coming up tomorrow.

Before starting to wrap it around the handle, it is important to fold the base very precisely:

The easier way is to use a Twilly, another a silk design by Hermès that is specifically used for that purpose (although it’s also used for other things like your wrist). It is thin and an easy way to customize your bag.

Jaguars, macaws, panthers and impalas frolic through lush natural settings under the watchful eye of late naturalist and painter Robert Dallet. He created this iconic design in 1988 presenting his vision on a grand scale of equatorial flora and fauna. Now brings HERMES with its new porcelain collection new life into the full range of the artist’s work, from spontaneous sketches to hyperrealist gouache paintings, all can be found on this beautiful china. I am so in love.

Bohemian luxury inspired by the gypsy free spirit, Gucci‘s romantic dresses embrace all of those feelings and I am truly addicted to Alessandro Michele‘s designs.

I wore this beautiful creation to the Zoofäscht in Zurich three weeks ago which is one of the highlights of the city’s social calendar. The black tie gala took place for the 15th time and raised CHF 780’000 for the zoo’s new Australia complex. It was a fun night with many show acts entertaining the generous guests.

My look: Appliquéd silk-jacquard and printed cotton maxi dress, Sylvie mini buckle leather shoulder bag and green suede sandals (S/S 2006), all by Gucci, Tank Américaine in yellow gold with diamonds by Cartier, Diorette ring and matching earrings, both by Dior Haute Joaillerie.

Love it or leave it: Balenciaga’s first new bag, the Bazar Shopper, from designer Demna Gvasalia, who is also one of the co-founders of upcoming cult fashion brand Vetements. When he was appointed to the French brand months ago, fashionista were looking forward to seeing what his first bag would look like and it was quite a surprise.

His ‘Bazar’ collection is inspired by sampeng bags – striped shoppers traditionally used in the markets of Thailand.

But Balenciaga is not the first one to come up with a plastic shopping bag being transformed into something high end in leather. Do you remember the Louis Vuitton S/S 2007 collection?

I leave it to you if you like it or not… I got the Vuitton one nine years ago as a piece for my little “museum“…. and now I am thinking about the Bazar shopper. I like it!

A year after the opening of Pasticceria Marchesi 1824 on Via Montenapoleone, the historical pastry shop controlled by the Prada Group opened the doors to its new stylish location in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II on Monday.

Housed in the same building as the Prada menswear store, the inauguration of another iconic Marchesi pastry shop is the second phase of a major project in which the prestigious Galleria location of the Prada Group will become a genuine hub of its many facets, where fashion, food, art and a wide range of cultural activities will harmoniously coexist.

Towards WWD, Stefano Cantino, Group Strategic Marketing Director, said that Prada, which became a majority shareholder with an 80 percent stake in March 2014, will expand Pasticceria Marchesi outside of Italy. “We’ve had requests from international malls, but we are defining the timing. In the medium-term, we will open in Shanghai and Dubai. We are not doing franchised banners and we want to guarantee high standards,” explained Cantino, adding that “maybe” some Prada stores could also house the pastry shop. Wouldn’t that be amazing?

I love the green interior design that is elegant and so reminiscent of the Prada stores around the world.  Part of the space in the new store is used as an elegant tea room which serves a variety of dishes throughout the day: breakfast, lunch, tea, and an evening aperitif.

Open one in Zurich, please!

Albert Kriemler, who was awarded this week by the Couture Council of The Museum at FIT with its award for Artistry in Fashion, is one of the designers who has been impressing me with the creative background of his designs since many seasons. He is taking the term «inspiration» to the next level. For the first time, the Swiss designer showed in NYC at Lever House. The collection, which is one of his best ones, is dedicated to the work of New York artist Carmen Herrera.

The first look of the Akris S/S 2017 collection has obviously been inspired by Carmen Herrera’s work «Blanco y Verde».

“On my first visit to the new Whitney Museum in New York, in June 2015, I saw a painting I could not take 
my eyes off. It was „Blanco y Verde “, from 1959, an off-white plane with a green arrow-shaped triangle, by Carmen Herrera, born in 1915 and living in New York. Her sense of color and proportion,
a blend of euphoria and perfect order, stunned me.” – Albert Kriemler

It is a process of choosing from a multitude of options the one that blends emotion and purpose perfectly. Albert Kriemler seems to have truly a nose for trends. On September 16, 2016, Carmen Herrera‘s solo exhibition «Lines of Sight» opens at the Whitney Museum.
