Miu Miu Kisses

Screen kisses may be loving, life affirming, adorable, darkly romantic, hotly anticipatory and even melancholic. Miu Miu Kisses is a capsule collection of T-shirts printed with film stills of some of cinema history’s most celebrated embraces.

Choose between the sweet – Prince Charming’s life-giving kiss in Walt Disney’s Snow White & The Seven Dwarves – or the sweetly spooky – the ghostly embrace in Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. More emotionally charged is Bogart and Bergman’s parting kiss in Casablanca and Clarke Gable and Vivien Leigh’s passionate embrace in Gone With The Wind. Finally, if light-hearted and big-haired is the order of the day, the tangle between Jennifer Beale and Michael Nouri in the 1980s classic, Flashdance, more than fits the bill.

Miu Miu Kisses runs the gamut from mischievous to playful and from nostalgic to tender.
Produced in black and finished with the Miu Miu Kisses logo, T-shirts are available in Miu Miu stores worldwide. Such a great gift for Valentine’s Day!

The Birkin of the Lipsticks

Hermès, a house of objects since 1837, presents its sixteenth métier, Beauty, with its first collection, Rouge Hermès, devoted to the beauty of the lips. The Birkin of the lipsticks so to say…

«We approach this new métier in our own way, and with a great deal of pleasure. Hermès Beauty is part of who we are: a house where everything comes from creation, driven by artisans who seek to accompany the men and women of today with elegance, and with the integrity and au-thenticity that we represent. It is the quintessence of our affection for surprise and wonder, which embraces the object, its design, and the desire to be useful while inspiring dreams
Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès

The fruit of design, research and development work initiated more than five years ago and di-rected by Agnès de Villers, CEO of Hermès Perfume & Beauty, in the spirit of excellence and the integration of know-how that characterises Hermès, Hermès Beauty is a collaborative creation under the aegis of Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès.

Pierre Hardy, creative director of Hermès jewellery and Hermès shoes, designed the object. Bali Barret, artistic director of the women’s universe and creative director of women’s silk, contributed her vision of femininity and colour, while Jérôme Touron, creative director of Hermès Beauty, transposed this vision into make-up. Their work on objects, materials, colours and gestures de-veloped freely through shared affinities and connections. Finally, Christine Nagel, Director of Hermès’ olfactory creation, gave this collection its fragrance.

Rouge Hermès lipsticks are Hermès objects in their own right, expressing all of the house’s principles in a small item of make-up. They share the same aesthetic of function as all Hermès objects.

«Our approach to beauty is fundamental. It is to reveal and highlight what is naturally there, with elegance, comfort and pleasure. I like the idea of Hermès as an intimate companion, revealing one’s deepest self. I associate Hermès’ beauty objects with self-fulfilment, with the colour of an individual’s personality,» asserts Pierre-Alexis Dumas.

Created from noble materials – lacquered, brushed and polished metal in black, white or permabrass gold – assembled by hand, the lipsticks are rechargeable and made to last.

As Pierre Hardy explains, «I love the simplicity of pure shapes that colours have the ability to animate. Intuitively, to become timeless, this object had to be able to morph, remain iconic, but stay fluid, be part of a connected sequence, and perpetually recognisable. A constant yet ever-changing object

The sensual and fine textures of the sticks deposit colour in a single stroke, with a matt or satin finish reminiscent of the house’s Doblis and Box leathers.

«Materials carry colour. They give it its strength and its subtlety. They give it a particular finish. At Hermès, colours travel. They are reinvented from one material to another,» states Jérôme Touron.

The house’s elegance, spirit and imagination are expressed in 24 hues, a sophisticated selection inspired by the métiers of Silk, with the infinite richness of its colour references (75,000 shades), and Leather (900 shades).

«Like a silk scarf gracing a woman’s neck that creates radiance and reveals her beauty, for Hermès Beauty we wanted to discover or rediscover the emotion of colour as a fundamental feminine trait,» explains Bali Barret. «At Hermès, colour is an irrational, intoxicating passion, a craftsmanship of nuances, an obsession with striking the right tone, and a language all of its own

The emblematic collection is accompanied by a twice-yearly limited edition of three colours.
As beautiful inside as they are on the outside, Rouge Hermès objects cultivate sensory appeal and attention to detail, right down to a miniature version of the famous orange box.
Other beauty objects accompany the lipstick and form the basis of a ritual: a lip care balm, Poppy lip shine, a universal lip pencil, and a lip brush in lacquered wood. A collection of leather accessories – cases and a moon mirror – invite movement.

Hermès Beauty will be enhanced with other objects, to be revealed every six months from September 2020, until a complete line of make-up is created.

The Rouge Hermès collection will be available from 4th March 2020 in selected Hermès stores and retail outlets in 35 countries.

Shakira & Jennifer Lopez Super Bowl Show

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira dazzled audiences during this year’s Super Bowl halftime show wearing bespoke Swarovski crystal outfits by fashion designers Versace and Peter Dundas.
Two of the world’s biggest musical icons, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, took to the famous Super Bowl stage at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium for a unique performance elevated with bespoke Swarovski-crystallized looks.

Shakira opened the show in a sparkling three-piece set with fringe details featuring fiery red Swarovski crystals, created by Norwegian designer Dundas, with boots crystallized by The Dan Life. Over 123,000 crystals in three shades of red were incorporated into the look and applied by hand, while 70,000 jet hematite Swarovski crystals encrusted Shakira’s Gibson guitar to add a glamorous rock ‘n’ roll feel to the show.

Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Bad Bunny made a surprise appearance during Shakira’s set, wearing a Swarovski crystal outfit by Berlin-based designers Last Heirs featuring the artist’s iconic third eye logo.

Jennifer Lopez lit up the Hard Rock stadium in two bespoke Versace looks embellished with over 75,000 Swarovski crystals. The singer’s 11-year old daughter Emme was also one of the 60 young girls who joined Lopez on stage wearing outfits with Swarovski crystal.

The dazzling duo closed the show with Lopez in Versace’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted costume and the Columbian star wearing a gold crystal embellished two-piece set and matching bomber jacket designed by Dundas along with Swarovski-covered Adidas Superstar trainers.

Jennifer Lopez’s stylist and long-time collaborator of Swarovski, Rob Zangardi commented: «Swarovski has always been top of mind for any Jennifer Lopez performance. For this year’s Super Bowl, we are extremely excited to collaborate once again

Shakira’s stylist Nicolas Bru, who enlisted Swarovski to add the sparkling touch, commented: «Shakira embodies the word ‘superstar’ so Swarovski crystals were an obvious choice. The crystals are the perfect balance between sophistication and playfulness, just like Shakira».

With a long history dressing the world’s most legendary musical talents, Swarovski has recently added trademark crystal embellishment to costumes for Jennifer Lopez’s It’s My Party Tour, the Spice Girls’ Spice World’s Tour and Beyoncé’s On the Run Tour.

Please have a look at the video below to enjoy the show of the two Latinas. I watched it now many times, it just puts me in an amazing mood…

My Look: Birthday Girl Night Fever

Last Thursday, I enjoyed my birthday so much and was surprised with a small gathering of friends at Kaufleuten in the evening. My outfit was about the peplum trend that is back and better than ever. The lace dress and biker jacket nip in at the waist before flaring out to a fluted peplum hem. I added some fun accessories for an eye-catching effect.

My look: Sarabande-lace V-neck peplum dress and dark blue leather peplum biker jacket, both by Alexander McQueen, washing-up liquid shoulder bagicon by Moschino, Studwrap leather pumpsicon by Valentino, and metal glass pearls leather earrings by CHANEL (Cruise 2020).

Miu Miu Denim Icons

I am sorry but there is one more post dedicated to Miu Miu today and actually I am not so sorry because the Miu Miu Denim Icons are just gorgeous – a capsule collection of six different denim trouser shapes, each inspired by and named after the decade during which they were first created and the spirited, stylish and ultra-confident woman best known for wearing them.

Few garments are more evocative of an era than a great pair of jeans, after all. By now a universal symbol of democracy in wardrobe, each person – and indeed generation – wears them in their own, entirely individual way.

Cut in heavy, dark blue denim, 40’s Lauren has the traditional raw work wear feel that characterised the then still largely functional garment way back when. By the Fifties jeans had become more of a fashion statement: 50’s Brigitte features a high waist, is cut in dark denim again and cropped at the ankle, referencing the feminine silhouette of Capri pants. 60’s Françoise is a straight legged, high-waisted white denim design: by then jeans were ubiquitous, signifying youth and emancipation; as their popularity grew so the colour palette, weight and washes of denim proliferated.

70’s Jane sits low on the hip, is in pale washed denim and flared: flower power was at its height, as were bellbottom trousers, and jeans were feeling groovy. The 80’s Brooke is a unisex design, in the dark denim widely favoured throughout that decade but now whiskered to ensure a contemporary feel. Finally 90’s Kate is a mid-blue, eased, borrowed from your boyfriend pair of jeans, as effortlessly stylish and minimal as denim throughout that decade decreed.

Miu Miu Denim Icons capsule collection is available in selected Miu Miu stores worldwide from the beginning of February.
