Stella McCartney Artist Tees Drop

Dropping on 3rd of December at 14:00 GMT: Stella McCartney‘s first three exclusive artist tees, all individually numbered, limited-edition pieces featuring the artworks of George Condo, Ed Ruscha and Cindy Sherman and supporting causes of their choosing. Inspired by the McCartney A to Z Manifesto, only 30 of each will be made globally.

Stella’s A to Z Manifesto originated during lockdown; a moment of pause that allowed the community to reflect and return to the world more mindful. A guiding alphabet, each of the 26 letters is a conversation about our values, brought to life through the visions of global artists – ranging from next-gen talents to friends of Stella like Olafur Eliasson, Jeff Koons, Sam Taylor-Johnson and more.

Blending fashion, art and sustainability, this is what Stella does best!

The Woodward in Geneva

As a proud ambassador for the Oetker Collection, I am more than happy to announce that spring 2021 will see the addition of The Woodward, a new hotel in the heart of Geneva, to its exclusive portfolio of masterpiece hotels. It will be the tenth hotel in the outstanding collection.

A historic transformation creates Geneva’s first all-suite hotel designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, with restaurants by Michelin-Starred L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and vegetable driven Le Jardinier by Alain Verzeroli as well as a 1,200 sq metre Spa by Maison Guerlain.

Rooted in classic French techniques, Chef Verzeroli, who has maintained for 11 consecutive years seven stars in the Michelin guide for Joël Robuchon’s three restaurants in Tokyo, is renowned for creating innovative dishes where vegetables play a starring role, many of which are vegan, and dairy and gluten-free.

Owned by Bastion Holdings, the hotel sits directly on the shores of Lake Geneva, offering panoramic views of Mont Blanc. Originally built in 1901 by French architect François Durel, in a post-Haussmann style, the hotel is located on Quai Wilson. Bastion Holdings and Bastion Management are part of The Bastion Collection group which owns 15 unique restaurant & food concepts globally and the masterpiece water-front hotel in Geneva – The Woodward.

Each of the 26-suites have been carefully curated to possess their own distinct character and individual design details with signature flourishes including marble fireplaces and bookcases. 21 of the suites have a full lake view. The jewels in the crown are the Presidential Suite, designed in elegant ivory tones and offering panoramic lake views from every room with a private dining room and loggia, and the Royal Suite, reached by private lift and designed to resemble a chic Parisian apartment.

The Woodward will offer two bars and a tea-room, as well as a private digestif lounge, which takes the buildings history as a bank into the modern-day through the transformation of a former vault. In keeping with Oetker Collection’s commitment to wellbeing, a 21-metre indoor swimming pool invites guests to indulge and relax. It will be the longest swimming pool in Geneva. There will be a state-of-the-art gym, two saunas, two steam-rooms, two Swedish baths and a jacuzzi. Guests will be able to enjoy exclusive treatments by Guerlain across six wellness suites, including one for couples and a corner dedicated to men.

I am so excited for this beautiful addition to Geneva!

My Look: Black Friday

My kind of Black Friday! Due to the current pandemic, I have a phobia of long lines, and too many people. I am a big fan of online shopping anyway which also avoids pressured decisions. Don’t be tempted too much just because it is marked down. Invest in classic pieces that you will treasure forever like this outfit I am wearing in today’s post.

My favorite offer today so far? MYTHERESA offers 30% off already marked down pieces. Click here to browse through the large selection.

My look: Satin-trimmed crepe and lace blazericon, ruffled lace-trimmed wool-blend mini skirticon, cotton-blend lace bustier topicon, and leather waist belticon, all by Alexander McQueen, Bond Street 105 chain-embellished suede and mesh pumpsicon by Aquazzura, Monogramme glittered canvas shoulder bag by Saint Laurent, and Glomesh bandana necklaceicon by Prada.

Hermès Arceau Horse

Designed by Henri d’Origny in 1978, the Arceau round watch lends its singular design to a new stylistic expression. Its round case with stirrup-inspired asymmetrical lugs, along with its sloping numerals evoking a galloping horse, secure its place in a timeless and playful universe.
Season after season, this discreetly elegant model, offering a quintessential expression of Hermès style showcases the full extent of artistic crafts cultivated by the Maison.

The result of Hermès’s saddlery and leathermaking expertise, 395 mini studs – individually placed on the leather dial of the new Arceau Horse – compose an equestrian motif. The meticulous studding is complemented by the delicate crafting of the black or white leather, both miniaturised to the scale of the dial. The spirited horse comes to life framed by a steel case set with 100 diamonds and secured to the wrist by a calfskin strap matching the dial colour – all produced in the Hermès Horloger workshops. In a fascinating blend of understatement, brilliance and careful attention to every demanding detail, the Arceau Horse boldly flaunts its singularity both by day and by night.

I am loving it and you?

The Pillow Boot

You can already tell that it’s going to be an eye-catching shoe! Louis Vuitton‘s iconoclastic Pillow boot, presented on the S/S 2021 runway, is all about paradoxes: its large, comfortable shape conceals a well-structured inside, ensuring perfect foot hold while the extremely light, notched sole and the waterproof nylon lining are among its highly technical features. The Pillow boot also asserts a compromise-free style, reflecting the House’s aesthetic codes: the Monogram livens up the lining and laces, whilst the elegant Louis Vuitton tag enhances the shoe’s upper.

Louis Vuitton Pillow Boot

Suitable for both winter and summer wear, the Pillow boot will be available from 2nd December in three shades: black, white and khaki.

Christian Louboutin Astro Pointue 85 Stiletto Gloss Boot

If you belong more to «team high heels», you won’t have to miss out on the cozy factor. With a glossy patent finish and drawstring closure, these Christian Louboutin heeled boots bring a unique puffer-style silhouette to your feet. Available now in red and black.

Happy 11th Birthday, Sandra’s Closet!

11 years – as crazy as it sounds but I have been blogging now for 132 months, which is around 4015 days, and this is my 4559th post which means I wrote at least one per day. I am thankful, Sandra’s Closet has taken me on the craziest, busiest but most amazing ride in my life.

To honor the occasion, I thought I would share 10 fashionable fun facts about me that you might not know yet.

1. I went to a Catholic girl’s school and took my teachers shopping on class trips. In Rome for example, they bought the Moschino logo belt that has gone into style a few years ago again. Speaking of great investments.

2. Before my fashion design studies at ESMOD, I studied law. During an internship at court, I worked with the customs agents at Frankfurt airport and was really good in spotting counterfeits.

3. My first foray into working in fashion was an internship at Sonia Rykiel in Paris where I worked alongside the late designer. A very challenging yet unforgettable experience. I designed bags and T-shirts that were actually produced and have a proud spot in my closet.

4. Preferring to write about and style fashion, I started as a booking assistant at German Marie Claire magazine after my studies, and worked myself up pretty fast to fashion editor.

5. Before mytheresa.com was an online shopping platform, I created catalogs for them, the concept, layout and text.

6. Speaking of which, my favorite thing about blogging is the graphic design part, as you can see in my collages. My techniques are primarily self-taught which makes me proud. I also love drawing.

7. I was named among the most influential German fashion people in the coffee table book «Fashion Germany» along Claudia Schiffer, Peter Lindbergh, Jil Sander and many more…

8. I have started my fashion collection at the age of 16 and have kept everything. Every piece has its story and I always remember where I got or wore it.

9. I haven’t been without nail polish, both on my fingers or toes, since I am a teenager. Not one single day!

10. I have lived in Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Chicago before Zurich and my biggest dream is to open a fashion museum with my collection.

I hope you have enjoyed this little insight about my life before starting the blog.

The Shoe Vase

My blog turns 11 tomorrow and in case I receive some flowers, I have found the perfect vase to display them. Living up to my fashion addiction, Anissa Kermiche unites with Italian footwear label Nodaleto to reimagine its signature chunky-heel silhouettes, specifically the Bulla Corta boots, into a statement vase. It’s handmade in Portugal – a long-standing home fine ceramics ateliers – from earthenware with a semi-matte watertight glaze, available in different colors, left, right and as a pair and an open top. Arrange it alone or as part of a pair filled with fresh flowers for a quirky look.

To shop, click on the highlighted product description.

My Look: The Art of Fashion

No one revisits the art of fashion better than Jonathan Anderson at Loewe. Offering dramatic new silhouettes, he thinks outside the box and is for me one most exciting designer in fashion at the moment. Often seeking inspiration from different artists, his designs are museum-worthy. Stay tuned for his newest collaboration coming up next week …

My look: Tie-detailed lace dressicon, matching lace midi skirt, Obi lace and leather waist belticon, and elephant mini crystal-embellished suede shoulder bagicon, all by Loewe, logo-jacquard canvas wedge espadrillesicon by Fendi, bow-embellished crystal choker necklace, and mismatched crystal and bow earringsicon, both by Miu Miu.
