I started the New Year well with an amazing trip to Bahrain. Situated on the Persian Gulf between Qatar and the northeastern coast of Saudi Arabia, to which it is connected by the King Fahd Causeway, it comprises a small archipelago made up of 50 natural islands and an additional 33 artificial islands, centered on Bahrain Island which makes up around 83 per cent of the country’s landmass. The capital and largest city is Manama. Here I took these pictures while strolling around. I love the juxtaposition of modernity and tradition.

In terms of dress code, it is respectful to cover your shoulders and knees. I recommend wearing a scarf in case you want to visit a religious place.

My look: Broderie anglaise belted top, and matching broderie anglaise linen flared pants, both by Zimmermann23P light blue quilted caviar leather small classic double flap bag, and matching 23P caviar quilted mini chain belt bag, and sunglasses, all by CHANEL, Chevaloscope scarf 90 in rose/blue/multicolore by Hermès, and Dellena 100 leather wedge sandals by Jimmy Choo.

LoL, Sandra
