My Look: Dream More

Dream more and make it happen. For me, anything is possible if I dress accordingly. The right outfit can make me feel confident, comfortable, and ready to conquer the world. It’s like wearing my personality or the attitude I would like to express on the outside.

Wearing a suit and a tie, combined with a pair of glasses can convey a sense of professionalism, confidence and sophistication. And can you see … modern angels are wearing their wings on their heels.

CHANEL Eyewear Collection Summer 2024

An ode to freedom and movement, the S/S 2024 Ready-to-Wear collection is all about carefree sophistication, as Virginie Viard drew inspiration from the Villa Noailles in Hyères, a modernist building designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens.

References to Marie-Laure de Noailles and Gabrielle Chanel, united by their strong personalities and their intimacy with the avant-garde, can be seen in the black sunglasses with gold chains present from the very first silhouetes on the runway.

A long, flowing dress and a tweed cape were paired with sunglasses with blue light lenses and black acetate frames. Their rectangular lines are enhanced by the emblematic metal chain interlaced with leather, which extends into a long sautoir necklace. The chain also appears on an acetate sunglasses design inspired by 1990s shields.

A striped jacket and trousers punctuated by the double C inspired a pair of square sunglasses with a double bridge in acetate printed with the same geometric motif.
The CHANEL S/S 2024 eyewear collection will be available in boutiques from March.

How to Beat Jet Lag

I get often asked how I beat jet lag as my constant travelling can disrupt my circadian rhythm, the measures my body uses to manage its internal clock, such as daylight, my temperature, and  my hormones.

I found two products which actually work their magic. BYNACHT® is a German brand founded by Jessica Hoyer who created a revolutionary skincare that works at the only time when today’s multifaceted women for once don’t have to – at night!

HEAVY JET LAG BALM
A highly innovative aromatherapeutic balm that uses 100% pure, organic essential oils to resynchronize your «inner clock» to prevent jet lag.

With the help of its velvety texture, it counteracts the effects of strenuous business trips and long-distance flights on the body, mind and skin and is helping to relieve tension and fall asleep faster.

PERFECT NACHT SLEEPING OIL

This luxurious oil combines a sleep enhancing composition of 100% pure and organic essential oils that all have a proven record of supporting good sleep with an opulent texture. Spoil yourself to both perfect sleep and perfect skin!

It will spoil your senses and help to make you sleep like a baby again. Infused with the BYNACHT® aromatherapeutic superblend composition of Ylang Ylang flower oil, Melissa Officinalis leaf oil and Lavandula Angustifolia oil, it replenishes and deeply nourishes even the driest skin while supporting your body’s natural overnight skin regeneration program.

The better you sleep, the better you look!
Buonanotte, Gute Nacht, Bonne Nuit and Good night!

Personalize Your Luggage

My avid readers know how much I enjoy being up in the air and exploring new places. I absolutely adore flying. The sky is my happy place. Most of the time, I try to fly with hand luggage. However it is not always possible. The past summer, my suitcase got lost five times. I always found it again thanks to some little features I added to my luggage.

I got myself Rimowa’s Petal collection.

First of all, I recommend personalizing your suitcase. Choose a fun color that stands out of all the grey and black luggage that most people use. You can already spot it easily when it is loaded on the plane and you can spot it from far on the carrousel. It is also great for the ground staff when they have to identify a missing piece.

If you would like to take it up a notch and make your piece absolutely unique, I recommend stickers. They are not only absolutely fun but also great to personalize your suitcase. Here are some of the most fun and stylish ones available at the moment.

Sticker Sets by Rimowa

Hotel Postcards Labels Set by Louis Vuitton

In order to be able to track your suitcase yourself, put an AirTag in it. It saved me so many times … Last summer, when many suitcases got stranded, I went in the hall at the airport and played the sound. Like this, I easily spotted it under piles of other suitcases.

If you are not in the mood of doing the artwork yourself, have a look at Louis Vuitton‘s S/S 2024 runway «Side Trunk MM Elysee Palace Hotel MNG» bag that is inspired by the Maison’s first hotel that will open its doors in 2026 on the famous Avenue des Champs Élysées in Paris.

I cannot wait for my next trip … stay tuned!

Unbe-Leaf-Able

What if something as delicate as a Ginkgo leaf could be turned into a heel? A seemingly impossible challenge, flawlessly pulled off by this original collection which perfectly embodies Christian Louboutin’s boundless creativity.

Resembling a precious jewel thanks to its golden appearance, the Ginko heel comes in two refined silhouettes, including a sandal and a pump, in a feminine palette of pastel hues.

It all starts with a sketch
From cutting the leather to stretching it over the last, placing the famous red sole and the molded golden heel, each Ginko pump is a hand-crafted work of love requiring the skill of an expert artisan.

A question of savoir-faire
Paying tribute to nature’s innate sophistication, the Ginko heel exemplifies the artisanal skill for which the Maison is renown. Meticulously crafted, each piece is assembled by hand like a ready-to-wear work of art.

Visiting Christian Louboutin’s Paris Atelier

Yesterday I had an amazing experience with Christian Louboutin, when I visited his small atelier, the famed L’Atelier Sur Mesure, on Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, which is reserved for private customers and one-of-a-kind creations. It is located just a few doors from the first-ever Christian Louboutin store.

Most of the footwear is manufactured and produced at his factory in Milan, but here dreams come true as you can enjoy a made to measure service. This is haute couture for your feet. Here your measurements matter when you start a meticulous 8-step process to achieving the perfectly sculpted pair of shoes.

When you arrive at Christian Louboutin’s Paris Atelier, your Cinderella journey starts. Several key points of your feet will be measured. After that, precise, three-dimensional imprints are made by stepping into foam moulds.

You will have to choose which silhouette will be your base, for example the Kate or the Pigalle pumps, and you are then spoilt for choice, with the opportunity to customize your preferred silhouette, heel height, toe shape, desired material and other embellishments.

Three-dimensional foot casts are sculpted, that help the artisans to create the shoe’s first draft by hand in leather before other specialists sew and assemble the final product. This process takes months as these drafts undergo multiple reassessments and adjustments before reaching their final, impeccably finished state. Every shoe is ultimately approved by Christian Louboutin, himself and you as a client are allowed immense involvement in the entire process, through the sharing of ideas and expectation.

I personally experienced the craftsmanship to apply Swarovski crystals to the satin base of the shoe. It is such a difficult procedure and you appreciate the skills of the artisans even more.

Visiting the L’Atelier Sur Mesure was an incredible experience especially as I am obsessed with shoes.

The Loubishow

It’s not every day that Christian Louboutin takes over an iconic theatre to put on a show. Last night, the fashionable guests arrived at Le Trianon in Montparnasse. They were greeted by crowds of fans that were eagerly waiting for the K-pop stars to arrive for the event.

For last night’s F/W 2024 presentation, Louboutin threw what most people would call the party of a lifetime, the Loubishow. During the champagne reception, I indulged in the new collections on display, from amazingly embellished cowboy boots to denim models. I had also the chance to preview of the revered tradition of the annual cabas series, this year dedicated to Rio de Janeiro. Lots of sparkles and embellishments – exactly what I love!

At around 9.30pm, we were asked to go inside the theatre to enjoy the show. Sitting front row, it was a pleasure witnessing the mesmerizing dance performance happening in sparkly Louboutins. After that we enjoyed the after party. It was an absolutely amazing night.

With my dear friend Jani Gerard.

And now time for new season shopping … Don’t forget, Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life. Below you can find my favorite new models for F/W 2024.
