My interview for Globus Magazine is out featuring my must-have skincare tips to spring prep your skin.
Spring is a time for rejuvenation, especially for your skin. Over the winter you focus on protecting your skin from cold, dry weather but when the sun is back, your skincare routine should have a different goal. As spring turns to summer, you want to develop a skincare routine that focuses on hydration and defense against sun damage, pollution, and other environmental stressors.
Here are 5 simple ways to get your skin ready for spring:
EXFOLIATE
One of the best ways to prep your skin for the new season is to exfoliate regularly. Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells and gives your complexion a brighter, more radiant appearance. It also helps to unclog pores and improve circulation. As a result, your skin will be better able to absorb moisture and nutrients.
One of the best exfoliators I know: The Renewal Oil Exfoliator by LA MER.
Powerful duo: Hydro-Softening Lotion, The Serum by Clé de Peau Beauté (for more information, click here please for the detailed post).
One of my favorite masks as it is so easy to use: The Intensive Vitalizing Mask by LA MER.
HYDRATE
Apply a hydrating serum or essence to replenish moisture levels in your skin. Hydration is key to help prevent excessive dryness or irritation. At least once a week, use a mask to intensify the effect.
Follow your routine with your favorite moisturizer. In my case I am a huge fan of the The Moisturizing Cream by LA MER.
UV Protective Cream by Clé de Peau Beauté
PROTECT
Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. This step is essential, especially if you’ll be exposing your skin to the sun after a peeling.
PERSONAL TIP
Add a long-lasting and moisturizing primer that blends makeup and skincare so the your foundation will stay in place the whole day.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your skin is properly prepped and cared for, leading to a smoother, brighter complexion in spring.
