When Fashion meets Art… Dior is collaborating with Berlin artist Anselm Reyle for S/S 2012. The original and vibrant collection of leathergoods, accessories and makeup, currently presented exclusively in a Miami pop-up Dior store during the Art Basel show is a dream and will be available worldwide in January 2012.

Dior has given to the artist total freedom on the creation of this collection and the outcome is vibrant and colourful. I definitely would like to own one of those bags!

Adorned with the „Camouflage“ motif created for Dior, an eyeshadow palette offers a mixed harmony of violet, grey and black. Shiny and matt effects recall the artist’s leitmotifs and compose sophisticated eyes.

High-Impact Nail Lacquers
The nail lacquers are playful complements that set the tone in explosive colours. Bold violet of ultra-violet, deep black of untitled black, vivid pink of pink graffiti, vibrant blue of electric blue and a subtle silver of metallic silver compose an electrifying quintet that brings to mind Anselm Reyle’s passion for neon shades.

Zurich has got a new shopping oasis in the Seefeld quarter: Modestrom #110. Bibiana Stoecklin-Bruderer and Gabrielle Mazurczak have opened this weekend their second store that is filled with beautiful pieces from Nina Ricci (love!, the handbags and the prints are among my season’s favourites), By Malene Birger, Inès and Maréchal and Issa London among others.

Dream team: Bibiana Stoecklin-Bruderer and Gabrielle Mazurczak

The two lovely ladies have a good eye for exceptional beauty and carry some extraordinary things in their store which you might not find somewhere else such as Edition Poshette by Simone Bendix, an accessories collection inspired by vintage book covers, that also brings poetry into your life.

Simone Bendix came for the shop opening to Zurich and presented her designs in an extraordinary way by telling us a fairytale-like story about how she came up with the idea:
“My fingers were always typing, pressing buttons and working, but they were actually longing for more, for fresh air, for feeling the paper of a good book and for the sensation of a soft fabric. One day, a butterfly came by and showed me the way…”

The beautiful brunette captured the audience immediately. No wonder as she used to be a well-known Danish actress. Today, she lives with Kasper Winding, who was previously married to Brigitte Nielsen, and their two kids in Paris.

Being a phenomenal artist, Simone creates original prints inspired by old book covers and transfers them onto accessories such as clutch bags, wallets and more.  Her romantic, vintage-inspired designs come with a very unique shape and style. To add to their sense of literary universe, Simone numbers her creations and gives them evocative poetic names such as “Mes Cartes À Jouer – May Good Fortune Find You”.

As promised, here are the detail shots of the Prada accessories for S/S 2012. Finally a collection that will satisfy both, men and women. Perpetuating a stereotype, the stronger sex is known for its two meaningful relationships in life: Girls and cars. Next summer, Miuccia wrappes the girls in `50s inspired Cadillac car prints and puts their feet on fire. Those clutch bags are just divine. I am completely in love with this hot wheel craziness! And you?

While being in Milan, I went to a press event hosted by Bulgari in their newly re-opened boutique in Via Montenapoleone for the launch of the Monete S/S 2012 collection.

Given Bulgari’s ancient Greek origins and Roman influence, ancient coins are seen as a magnificent way to link the past and the present. Therefore the Italian house has relaunched its historic Monete collection from the `60s with a beautiful new design featuring goddess-adorned coins and chunky gold chains remininscent of Ancient Rome. The Monete theme runs though a line of leather handbags and jewlery pieces.

In the evening, the gardens of the Bulgari hotel were the perfect location to celebrate the launch of the new collection. Milan became Ancient Rome and all eyes were on the limber acrobats from Cirque du Soleil.

The Swiss company, that is expanding to other European countries now, has presented their F/W 2011 advertising campaign last week shot by Peter Lindbergh and starring Swiss supermodel Julia Saner and Patrick Petitjean. Below you can also find some of their winter must-haves like the Coucous bag and the making of video.
The collection captivates through its beautiful details, like purple stitching, colourful linings and for the gentlemen welt-sewn shoes.

Yesterday, I was invited to explore the upcoming Thomas Sabo F/W 2011 collection. The presentation was held at the Asian restaurant Tao’s in Zurich and the location couldn’t have been better for the so-called „Exotic Issue – Pop goes Asia“ that draws inspiration from the electrifying nightlife of an Asian megacity, merging the power pop era of the ’80s with the coquettish charm of a ’30s Shanghai.

The new Thomas Sabo collection is dazzling and original, for both women and men. It brings up a kind of holiday feeling, the same you experience entering a foreign and magic world.

Chanel small leather goods are enjoying a new design with the Palette line, a collection of wallets, a coin purse, card holders, key holders, make-up bags, an iPhone case and an iPad clutch.

True to Chanel’s signature aesthetic, all pieces are covered in aged calfskin, the legacy of the iconic 2.55 bag, distinguished here by flat lozenge quilting. Available in metallic gold or silver tones with pastel-toned linings in white, dusty pink, grey and beige.

This generous range of sixteen pieces – each one as practical as it is desirable – will be available in Chanel boutiques from late September 2011.
