The Ruched Belt

It’s the ruching on those leather belts that gives them a vintage charm without losing sight of the respective brand’s leatherworking history. The finishing touch on so many of the latest runway pieces, it is the perfect way to temper a billowing dress or oversized blazer. Use it to define the waist for a smart occasion, the choice of the buckle is all yours…

Pubumésu

Pack a slice of Asia wherever you go and beat the heat with the most stylish leather and horn fans, you might have ever seen! Handmade by skilled artisans and inspired by the market stalls of Java, Putri Soediono launched Pubumésu, after cutting her teeth designing theatrical accessories for Vivienne Westwood.

Putri Soediono

A third culture kid with a traditional and eccentric Asian upbringing, she holds a degree in Fashion Accessories from London Cordwainers. For her designs, that also include bags, she combines the traditional shadow puppet making of her native Indonesia with a passion for statement pieces.

Here you can enjoy some photos of the outstanding craftsmanship that goes into the fans. Every cut, stitch, shaping, forming, and treatment is conducted in the brand’s Indonesia – based factory, involving a team of classically skilled craftsmen and women, dedicated to the art of leather craft.

The team uses 100% tanned leather from cattle locally sourced on the island of Java, that is carefully treated to provide you the signature distressed look for that little edge of punk. The outcome, an entirely handcrafted piece of leather accessory you can call your own.

Most Important F/W 2019 Accessories Trends

After this week’s post about the 15 most important runway trends, you know that we will be wearing capes, colorful leather jackets or gothically lovely lace dresses. But what about our shoes, bags and accessories? The fashionable additions to the season’s best outfits have an equally polished attitude. With barely a sneaker in sight, the runways were mastered by clasp bags, fancy kitten heels, and vibrant platform boots that complemented the looks. On the grunge side of things there were lots of cool offerings: punk chokers and most of all, though, there were chains just about everywhere.

Enjoy this season’s unbridled fun running through winter’s most memorable bags and catch up on the season’s most covetable accessories below.

LoL, Sandra

Fall’s ladylike spirit extends into handbags with a focus on proper flap bags with metallic logo clasps.

This is for the serious handbag collector! Novelty bags are nothing new, but this season’s are truly some of the most outstanding pieces you have seen so far.

Hygge is alive and well in the accessories of several designers. Quilted, fluffy, and snuggly, these pieces will make the next polar vortex much more bearable.

One thing is for sure, you won’t be fully dressed without a hat this fall. Whatever the mood, there’s a hat to match – the new pieces are truly sophisticated.

A lot is going on around the neck, from scarves combined with necklaces to mini bags.

This F/W 2019 season requires a defined waist. Take a substantial waist belt to add a little curve to your ensembles.

Ditch the sneakers for a comfy pair of platform boots in vibrant hues – the designers were sending the message on many runways.

Combat boots are a must this season. Equipped with pockets or worn to flowing dresses, the choice is yours.

These kitten heels are easier to walk in than stilettos, but they don’t come up short on style.

Opposites attract. Take blooming accessories to balance the season’s punk movement.

Nothings brings as much drama to an outfit than a huge silk bow.

Dark and spiky chokers are a must and elevate every look to new heights.

The fiercest of all F/W 2019 trends is probably the ear armor. This refers to earrings or cuffs that cover the bulk of the ear helix, looking like an especially glamorous armor.

Chain necklaces are back – mostly elegant and glamorous rather than grunge.

Symmetry is not necessary or recommended this season when it comes to earrings. Wearing only one earring is a great way to channel your inner pirate.

Easter Bunnies My Way

In the hidden LOEWE land the bunny crossbody bags and bag charms are scampering: any minute fashion’s runway show for Easter will start! Expertly handcrafted from supple and fluffy shearling or leather folded into the shape of a bunny, those playful mini accessories feature a charming pom-pom tail and dot-perforated eyes. Personally speaking, something I would like to find during Easter Egg Hunt.

Louis Vuitton LV Epi Collection for Men

Louis Vuitton is breathing a new graphic rhythm into its men’s leather goods lines, LV Epi Initials and LV Epi Patchwork Graphite. Damier Graphite canvas and Epi leather are brought to life with touches of pop colour, combining the iconic House’s signatures with the LV Circle from F/W 2017.

Both collections place Epi leather in the spotlight. Launched in 1985, it features a distinctive grain and textured effect. Over the years, the first coloured leather to be introduced at Louis Vuitton has been dressed in a selection of strong, tangy, cool or deep colours. Here it is available in navy blue and black, punctuated with flashes of pop blue, acid green, and burgundy with a touch of Damier for the LV Epi Patchwork Graphite, or accompanied by the LV Circle signature for the LV Epi Initials line.

Available in four iconic Louis Vuitton shapes, the Danube, the Christopher backpack, the Bumbag and the Keepall, the shapes complement one another in a combination of highly generational styles and colours. The small leather goods reveal coloured linings, as does the trio of Damier Graphite canvas pouches that nest together like Russian dolls.

A perfect compromise between suppleness and structure, LV Epi Initials & Patchwork Graphite meet the needs of today’s city dwellers. These striking, casual collections will appeal to leather enthusiasts as well as cool, free-spirited personalities.

Available from May 31st 2019 in Louis Vuitton stores and on louisvuitton.com.
And needless to say, those pieces would also look good on us women!

Louis Vuitton F/W 2019 Accessories

For F/W 2019, LOUIS VUITTON accessories stylishly combine many of the House’s iconic codes.

The timeless Monogram shawl asserts a new freedom and can be worn in versatile ways. Reinterpreted in a tie-dye version, it celebrates the colours of an Indian summer.

Highlighted with 3D technical appliqué details for a trompel’oeil effect with Louis Vuitton’s signature motifs or in appliquéd silk with a pop upcycling vibe, it reinvents the concept of patchwork craftsmanship. An oversized scarf in double-faced, pleated silk beautifully enhances the look.

Twisted silk also features on costume jewellery, including fine bracelets adorned with charms and a featherweight choker.

The fashion jewellery plays with Louis Vuitton’s signatures. Worn on its own as an XL statement piece or in a mini-sized pair, an earring teams the House’s V with semi-precious stones. Long and short necklaces, worn on their own or layered, combine enamelled and diamanté heraldry charms, whose links are inspired by trunk locks.

I personally adore this three ring set. Such a cool accessory.

Leather rubs shoulders with the Monogram canvas in a new reversible fine belt. Its iconic jewel clasp, inspired by the Dauphine bag from the S/S 2019 collection, offers a discreet
signature.

A new accessory, the iPhone case hangs around the neck like an authentic high-tech silicone jewel.
It adds an ultra-modern and innovative accent to the look, offering the perfect blend of style
and function.

The sunglasses boast a sculptural form. A real technical feat, this featherweight, moulded design propels accessories into the future.

Louis Vuitton Lipstick Case

After LOUIS VUITTON‘s Petite Malle iPhone case and the Horizon wireless earphones, I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the newest chic gadget the French Maison has come up with: a monogrammed lipstick case that makes my heart leap with joy.

For those who prize their lipstick above almost all else, the monogrammed bullet case comes in two colorways: classic chocolate with gold metal casing and light tan with silver accents.

Inspired by 1920s-style jewellery holders, it fits up to two lipsticks (or anything else like hair clips, and some cash – it is perfect for partying) and secures with a lock. The best part of all is that it comes with a chain so you can wear it as a long necklace, across your body, or even attach it to your purse as a stylish accessory.

In case you felt your lipsticks needed dressing up, here you go! Available in the US for $1390 from February 22, 2019 here. The launch date for Europe has not been confirmed yet.
