I have to admit that when I saw the new Saint Laurent campaign yesterday, I didn’t dare to post it because of April Fools’ Day. But this is no joke! Marilyn Manson, the ’90s rocker, is the new face. Of course, this has nothing to do with the image we have had of the brand so far. Looking closer, Hedi Slimane‘s pick may not be as surprising as it seems.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Ad Shot in Zurich

Some exciting news for my Swiss readers: The new Marc by Marc Jacobs S/S 2013 ad campaign was shot in Zurich-Wollishofen by Jürgen Teller at the Rote Fabrik and the male model is no less than Eli, the son of entrepreneur Carolina Müller-Möhl.

His mum told me the story that I found particularly sweet. Carolina was asked to participate in a charity project for the Kunsthaus Zurich in collaboration with Jürgen Teller. She brought Eli to the shoot. The famous photographer saw his potential and started to take photos of him.

When he showed those to Marc Jacobs, they both agreed that Eli had to be the face of the new campaign. Well deserved – what a success story! I am sure that we will see more of Eli in the near future…

Here is your exclusive preview of Longchamp‘s new S/S 2013 video that will debut tomorrow on February 12, 2103. This awesome campaign will put you in a good mood. Turn up the volume and you should be dancing…

I have to admit that I am sometimes feeling like Coco Rocha at the security check. I feel the urge to get those grumpy people to smile.

The old TWA terminal’s minimalistic design at JFK in New York reflects the architectural theme of the new S/S 2013 collection. Highlighting the season’s star bags: Longchamp 3D, LM Cuir and Gatsby Sport, Coco Rocha is set in scene as the glamorous, cosmopolitan traveler running to catch her plane, grabbing her bags from the luggage carousel, and passing through security.

The S/S 2013 collection is also dominated by the Finca Luisa statement print in saturated shades, structured shapes and an architectural vision. Exclusively created for Longchamp, this graphic motif was inspired by the houses characteristic of South American estates (finca in Spanish) and is a playful tribute to the Mexican architect Luis Barragàn, celebrated for his use of bold block color.

Those crystals sparkle, glitter and reflect the light just beautifully. This can be seen in perfection in the Austrian house’s new advertising campaign, created by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse, and photographed by award-winning British photographer Nick Knight.

It features Supermodel Candice Swanepoel in a variety of poses as an action woman – sleek, confident and accessorized with dazzling sporting gear made with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS including a motorcycle helmet, dumb bells and skiing goggles. The radiance of Swanepoel’s beauty and her exquisitely crafted fantasy props is juxtaposed with Knight‘s stunning still lifes of lush freshly-cut garden roses, sprinkled with dewdrops of crystal stones.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin has taken place this week and the new CLA has premiered. Fittingly, it also stars alongside top model Karlie Kloss in Ryan McGinley‘s fashion film under the creative direction of Jefferson Hack that you can now see in full length at the end of this post. A striking beauty stands alone, surrounded by an imposing landscape, dark clouds gathering ominously behind her; she has two expressive and powerful companions, “her angels”, – a white horse and the Concept Style Coupé.

Karlie Kloss, originally hailing from Chicago, Illinois, has been setting the fashion world alight since her discovery aged 13. Walking for everyone from Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton, she recently renewed a two-year contract with Christian Dior. She looks stunning in the short movie, wearing her pretty Chloé outfit in all white next to a mysterious white horse.

Let’s have a look at Miu Miu‘s S/S 2013 ad campaign that is formed of a series of mise-en-scenes and still lives, in a mysterious domestic setting. The muted tones and painterly light of the theatrical setting highlight the vibrant vitality of the cast.

Photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin in New York, the campaign follows Miu Miu’s tradition of subverting traditional advertising imagery, this season offering a fresh view of contemporary femininity, rich with nuance and authenticity. High and low materials meet in rooms that have no sense of time or place, bleached wooden paneling and ruby red satin mirroring the duality of materials in the collection.

The cast itself embodies the many facets of a woman’s personality, femme fatales and innocent ingénues, playful belles and nostalgic beauties. This diverse constellation of women share their own private language, in an intimate series of poetic interactions. Awakening in a dream, Mulberry has released its new seasonal campaign, shot by my favourite photographer Tim Walker, starring model Meghan Collison, directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and inspired by the ethereal colour palette of Emma Hill’s S/S 2013 collection.
