Giambattista Valli x H&M

Breaking news at today’s amFAR gala at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc where H&M is announcing their newest designer collaborator Giambattista Valli. Ladies, you have to be ready this weekend. The flash collection, consisting of limited edition party dresses for his Valli girls, and, in a first, tailoring for Valli boys, will already hit the shelves in select H&M stores around the world and on the H&M website on Saturday, May 25. Speaking of firsts, never before has the Swedish clothing brand released a designer collaboration so close to the announcement; typically there’s been six months between the news breaking and the clothes arriving in stores, and never before have they worked with someone doing couture.

Kendall Jenner and Chiara Ferragni tonight at the amFAR

Personally speaking, I find these designer collaborations quite over and fully understand that H&M was looking for new ways to promote this so-called Project Love. Therefore tonight at the amFAR gala, Kendall Jenner, Chiara Ferragni, Bianca Brandolini, Chris Lee [Li Yuchun], H.E.R., and Ross Lynch are wearing the new pieces, transforming the red carpet into a fashion runway. With Kendall’s 111 million Instagram fans and Chiara’s 16.5 million watching, the launch is off to a great start.

The larger collection will follow on November 7, 2019. Stay tuned! In the meantime enjoy the looks below. You will see how beautiful the dresses are, quite pricey for H&M though, but better think twice wearing it to the next gala as you might spot many ladies in the same dress.

Victoria’s Secret x Mary Katrantzou

Everything that Victoria’s Secret creates is about a woman feeling confident and empowered—and also having fun with what she is wearing, This collaboration is going to be bold, fun and playful.” – Mary Katrantzou

Consider it THE collaboration of the season: my beloved Mary Katrantzou has teamed up with Victoria’s Secret for a capsule collection that will make its debut on the runway at this year’s VS Fashion Show, which is returning to New York City on November 8, 2018 after previously holding shows in Shanghai and Paris. Immediately after the show airs, the Mary Katrantzou-designed pieces will be available to shop both online and in stores for holiday.

The collaboration marks the second time Victoria’s Secret has partnered with a luxury fashion brand for its annual show. The first was last year’s capsule collection with Olivier Rousteing of Balmain. I adore Mary’s colorful, feminine designs and out-of-this-world floral prints, perfect pieces to be worn under and over!

At this year’s VS Fashion Show, it is said that at least 18 new models will make their debut in the show, including Winnie Harlow, Duckie Thot, and Sadie Newman. It will also be the first Victoria’s Secret show in 17 years without Alessandra Ambrosio, who retired from the runway last year.

The most important question is still: who will wear the million-dollar Fantasy Bra this year? Mmh… I am thinking who needs a million-dollar bra if you can have one by Mary Katrantzou?!

First Look at Moschino [tv] H&M

For the MOSCHINO [tv] H&M lookbook, MOSCHINO’s creative director Jeremy Scott gathered his family of friends to show the positivity, love and diversity at the heart of the collection. MOSCHINO [tv] H&M will be available in selected stores worldwide, and online at HM.com, on November 8.

«Whenever I design, I think about my friends. The MOSCHINO [tv] H&M lookbook is like a party; celebrating the fun, the pop, the creativity and the energy of the people and the collection,» says Jeremy Scott, creative director of MOSCHINO.

The look book was shot and styled by Jeremy’s long-term collaborators photographer Marcus Mam and stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.

Wearing the high energy MOSCHINO [tv] H&M collection, with all of MOSCHINO’s pop glamour, street attitude, humour are among others Aquaria – winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10; Amiaya – twins and influencers Aya and Ami; Sakura Bready – Jeremy Scott’s assistant at MOSCHINO and Pablo Olea – Jeremy’s best friend and Head of Global PR and Communications of MOSCHINO.

There will even be some pieces for dogs.

H&M has also just launched MOSCHINO [tv] H&M giphy stickers on Instagram Stories, Snapchat and iMessenger for users to add to their own content. As well as animated logos and emblems from the collection, there’s giphys of Jeremy himself spreading the love of the collection.

Enjoy some of the best and most fun looks… with Mickey Mouse celebrating his 90th anniversary this year, there are some sweaters definitely worth getting.

Trending: Hybrid Fashion

Aren’t we all about a two-for-one kind of a deal?! That’s why I would like to show you the It-piece of the S/S 2018 seasonthe hybrid piece, that is pretty exciting for me. Spotted on the runways of the likes of Alexander Wang, Balenciaga and Sacai to name a few, the designers layer two separate items and are selling them as one. A blouse attached to a cardigan, a crepe dress with another overlay dress, even a cashmere sweater with a lingerie top.

Cotton and pleated checked satin cardigan by Sacai

Though the idea of letting a brand choose how you should style clothes might sound limiting, all of the pieces below feel surprisingly versatile and entirely stylish. And after all, these designers know a thing or two about how to put together an outfit—why not let them do the work?

Check out my favorite hybrid picks below, and good news is they are all on sale. So you can really try the trend for yourself without feeling guilty! Don’t forget you are getting two for one!

From left to right: Layered lace-trimmed satin and jersey dressicon, Stack Tie tie-front distressed high-rise straight-leg jeansicon, and paneled wool-blend, lace and satin sweatericon, all by Alexander Wang.

From left to right: Cotton-twill and denim coat,  and layered printed crepe de chine and silk midi dress, all by Balenciaga.

From left to right: Printed striped cotton-poplin shirticon, and printed striped cotton-poplin bandeau top, both by Prada.

From left to right: Layered straight jeansicon, and layered oversized jeansicon, both by Natasha Zinko.

My Look: The High and Low

We all know that high/low is having a moment. Wearing a fast fashion fix from Zara elevated with a great designer bag and paired with a high jewelry necklace is actually pretty cool.

But you have to enjoy shopping to take advantage of this rule to get acquainted with the quality of fabrics, finishings and silhouette to pull off a fabulous high/low look.

My look: Rose fake fur coat with light blue embellishments, floral ruffled dress, and boots with attached embellished knitted knee socks, all by Zara, Mimi bag in plat/milk/black by Salar (The Italian handbag brand was founded in 2010 by two creatives, Mexican-born Salar Bicherenloo and Francesca Monaco, from Puglia, Italy, who came together to design some seriously cool It-bags – so cool, they’ve been featured in Vogue Italia – in Switzerland available at JELMOLI in Zurich). One-of-a-kind titanium and gold necklace with a pear-shaped kunzite of 153.73 carat.

Moschino [tv] H&M

You might have heard the news already as they had been announced a few days ago:
H&M revealed their newest designer collaboration with MOSCHINO, this time through Instagram live.

I was in the champagne with Moët & Chandon for an outstanding experience that I had no time to write about it before. Nevertheless, you might have heard about it but you still haven’t read my opinion about it which you might find interesting.

Funny coincidence: I wore Moschino’s Barbie collection to the Alexander Wang x H&M launch party in NYC in 2014.

First of all, I think that the time for designer collaborations is over. Somehow the magic went missing. Why is that? Personally speaking, in times, where street style fashion, sneakers, track pants and so on are totally trending, being stylish can be easily achieved, even on a low budget. Jeremy Scott, Moschino’s Creative Director, for example had a fantastic collaboration with Adidas before where you could find his aesthetics for a great price. Moreover, there are many new brands coming up, raising to fame through today’s advertising channels of social media.

Another coincidence: I met Jeremy Scott for the first time at an H&M party – in 2012 Anna dello Russo’s Paradise Ball celebrated her collaboration with the Swedish fashion giant.

When I was eagerly waiting during the last years for H&M’s new collaboration to be revealed, this one hit me unexpectedly as I had just forgotten about it. Nevertheless, personally speaking, I have always liked Moschino’s fun approach to fashion, especially since 2013 when Jeremy Scott has started to inject his pop energy, reminiscent of what Franco Moschino was famous for. Depending on the pieces Jeremy will create, this can be a great collection. Moreover, he is a designer of celebrity status with millions of fans, many of whom are also friends, such as Kate Perry, Lindsay Lohan and many more.

One of his buddies, no other than Gigi Hadid, revealed the new project with an Instagram live call to her friend Jeremy Scott. Her call was projected on digital screens at the annual MOSCHINO party in Coachella, California and live broadcasted on @hm surprising guests with the big news after midnight. Jeremy Scott and Gigi Hadid, were dressed in the first looks from the MOSCHINO [tv] H&M collection, a collection full of the vitality, playfulness and humour that has made the label one of the most beloved in fashion today.

«I am so excited about MOSCHINO [tv] H&M. My life’s work has been to connect with people through fashion, and with this collaboration I’ll be able to reach more of my fans than I’ve ever had the ability to do,» Jeremy Scott, Creative Director of MOSCHINO

For H&M, Jeremy Scott has designed new MOSCHINO collections for both women and men, as well as a full range of accessories and some extra surprises too. The collection will be available online and in select H&M stores worldwide from November 8, 2018.

The MOSCHINO [tv] H&M campaign is a radically innovative TV concept enmeshing social and traditional media to create a multi-platform takeover – a captivating new «zapping» experience for the digital world.

News were revealed last week at Scott’s annual Moschino Coachella Party: Jeremy Scott and Gigi Hadid dressed in the upcoming collection with Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Creative Advisor.

Below you can find some of my favorite Moschino looks and accessories I wore over the past years, to see the complete outfit posts, click on the highlighted links. Let’s see if Jeremy will be inspired by one of those…

One of my favorite Moschino looks of all times: Barbie Girl.

Top left to right:  Love Pink –  When Fashion Meets Art – Good Girl
Bottom left to right: The Jacket BagFast FashionCalifornia Cool

Infused with pop art: Jacket quilted leather shoulder bag.

Fashion kills: Cigarette box-inspired leather bag.

Looking at my photos, I can imagine that Scott’s surreal-Pop aesthetic will find many fans…
… to be continued!
