My Fashion and Watch Trends Presentation

During the wonderful Patek Philippe event in Zurich, I held a presentation about the newest fashion and watch trends that I am happily sharing with you today. During my speech, I talked about the most important F/W 2022 colors and shapes. I also gave an insight into the shoe, bag and accessories trends.

Furthermore, I explained how dressing can be fun and what you should keep in mind when choosing your outfits. Below you can find all my presentation slides that are absolutely self explanatory. The common thread is to invest in best quality and enjoy the pieces for many years to come.

The Most Important F/W 2022 Bag Trends

Grab hold. These are the handbags to get excited about. The F/W 2022 trends have spoken, and there will be a lot of practical types of handbags for the season. My favorite is the return of the hobo bag!

LoL, Sandra

00’s nostalgia has brought the hobo bag back, and designers add some great details to modernize it.

This S/S 2022 trend is here to stay, only in a more delicate way. Tender, heart-shaped bags appeared at Chanel, Simone Rocha, and Jil Sander, on time for Valentine’s Day 2023.

Oversized cozy fluffy bags are all the rage. It is your choice if you go real or fake fur.

When one purse is not enough, Bottega Veneta’s Intrecciato rope bag or Proenza Schouler’s layered double bags are called for.

Studs and beads were scattered across clutches, slouchy shoulder bags and pouches.

Those slim bags feel so modern. They’re ideal for storing small items—for those who prefer to leave their whole kit and kaboodle at home.

With geometric designs and all-over prints, these bags crave to see and be seen.

Those classic bags have their momentum again. Store your personals in boxy style this season.

The Most Important F/W 2022 Shoe Trends

A girl can never have too many shoes. So what are the style we will be drooling over next season? Have a look at the F/W 2022 shoe trends below. With the new season arriving in stores, there’s no doubt we’re getting all excited about the newest must-haves footwear. Platforms and overknee boots are still on top of the list. Label of the moment for a shoe investment? Loewe! Jonathan Anderson created many trendy styles for the Spanish house that fashionistas around the globe will try to get their hands on. Don’t forget to put yourself on the  waitlist for the CHANEL wellington boots. A must!

LoL, Sandra

Summer season’s popular platform pumps have birthed a movement of sky-high, vampy-sweet shoes that will take us to new heights in winter.

From Loewe’s artsy metallic sandals to Jil Sander’s shimmering gold mules, metallic shine was everywhere this season.

The overknee boot is still holding very strong. However, you might need extra-long legs to wear this season’s best boots.

Designers went big on details with buckles going to the extreme.

Sneakers have gone from chunky dad styles to sophisticated styles. Be it a 3D-printed morph shoe at Stella McCartney, to a mule sneaker at Vuitton or a skate style at Loewe.

This boots are made for walking. Chloé, Dior, and others are betting on outdoorsy, walkable boots.

Designer are getting some fluffy action with footwear in soft textures and oversized volumes.

Versace F/W 2022 Campaign with Lily James

«When Lily got in front of the camera she transformed! Wearing the collection unlocked her own personal attitude and she took on a new energy and power. That’s exactly how you should feel when wearing Versace!» – Donatella Versace

The Versace F/W 2022 campaign sees Lily James with the new Greca Goddess bag; the actress interpreting a Versace goddess in images from well-renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

As in her films, where she has played roles from headstrong princesses to sex-symbols, Lily James’s impulsive and daring attitude is the epitome of Versace confidence. Lily is seen as equal parts mythological deity and contemporary rebel as she wears new season latex ready-to-wear in a campaign that clashes classical culture with empowered seduction.

Versace Men’s proposal of a modern opulence is visually clear, with the ornate flourishes of the classical surrounding contrasted with the collection’s contemporary content.

The Greca Goddess line of bags is introduced for F/W 2022. Very Versace contrasts within the campaign imagery fully reflect the new bag and its juxtaposition of rich craft and elegance with a totally contemporary and new energy. The new bag harnesses Versace’s culture of myth and luxury, finished with the brand’s Greca insignia.

I absolutely love Versace’s new collection for F/W 2022 and cannot wait to get my hands on it! The footwear is so divine…

The Top 20 Runway Trends for F/W 2022

Being still in the throes of a global pandemic, and following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, it was a bizarre fashion week. It felt awkward on one side, on the other you saw that designers felt that urge to live again, while setting a statement.

The revival of the 2000s «Y2K» which is the shorthand for «the year 2000» is still going strong along with vibrant colors and strong shoulders on which you can carry the weight of the world. Literally.

Enjoy those beautiful collections and as I wished already six months ago, let’s hope again that we will find peace this season and finally learn from our history.

LoL, Sandra

The must-have of the season is actually a very summery item. The white tank top gives an elevated take on wardrobe essentials this season.

Never out of style, the flight jacket aka bomber jacket is a wardrobe hero that can be worn for all occasions. From morning walk to weekend lunch to evening gala, it has had various luxe updates for fall.

Silhouettes built for speed give motorcross its fashion credentials.

More and more designers skip animal fur and work on creating the perfect faux fur. This winter mainly in neutral colors and oversized shapes.

This winter, leather is a second skin and creates eye-catching looks.

Knitwear combinations in form of dresses with cardigans or sweater with matching skirts are all the rage this winter.

Attention catwomen! Luxe leopard is really feeling fresh again.

Strong shoulders have been seen frequently at Balenciaga. Thanks to Demna Gvasalia who shaped the fashion industry in myriad ways, this detail has inspired many runway shows this winter. In form of oversized blazers styled in different ways, they are the key pieces to look for.

Corporate tailoring is heading out-of-office for autumn. Oversized tailoring, crazy prints and vibrant colors promise a fabulous sabbatical.

Mood-boosting hues in rainbow colors – designers used those shades often head-to-toe or in color block options.

Transparency takes it up a notch also for winter in skin-tight silhouettes and fearless cut-outs. The difference now? Body-con isn’t just for twiglets. Models of all sizes sported the looks down the runways.

The Y2K trend is here to stay. Also this F/W 2022 season, low-rise waists, micro minis, visible underwear and all-over denim live their revival to the fullest. The 2000s are back!

Another revival that has been spotted on several runways is the punk-fuelled trend. Tartan patchworks, edgy lines and multiple buckles add to the vibe.

Back to school! The coolest uniforms break out of the classroom and onto the runway.

This season, fashion is extreme. Either you wear miniskirts or opt for great lengths that fell to the floor this fall.

Red alert! The modern woman dresses head to toe in tight pants and sexy tops in the most feminine color of all.

Corsets and a focus on the waist are huge this winter season. The best way? Corsetry introduces structured lines to flowing gowns for a contemporary feminine silhouette.

Fashion can be art, it is a form of expression. With all uncertainties in the world, designers are creating looks to dress up. Layered, colorful, voluminous, and wild to unleash your inner child.

The perfect looks for happily ever after stories with tulle fabrications so light they are reminiscent of cloud nine, painted in a delicate palette of pastel shades.

The Roaring Twenties: Art Deco accents, boas and shimmering details ask for a Great Gatsby revival at its best.

Dior x Birkenstock and CD 1947 Capsule

Dior presents the CD 1947 capsule

Dior is unveiling an exclusive new men’s capsule, CD 1947, celebrating the infinitely rich dialogue between Kim Jones and the legacy of Monsieur Dior. Inspired by the founding couturier’s love of nature and gardens, the creations are distinguished by their sportswear cuts and technically advanced materials, ideal for the outdoors; thick canvas and polar knits are combined in silhouettes that merge elegance and minimalist spirit.

T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts and Bermuda shorts are available in a palette of soft, luminous shades, from light blue to beige, including the Dior Gray, a favorite of the House. Emblazoning this new line, the «Christian Dior» signature and «1947» – the year of Monsieur Dior’s first fashion show – feature on ready-to-wear items and accessories.

A bob, a bandana, a belt or even B27 sneakers, reinvented in the colors of the capsule, are adorned with these essential symbols, also embroidered on the Saddle and Dior Lingot 50 bags. A jewelry series and a carabiner embellished with the initials «CD˚ complete this wardrobe, an invitation to travel and adventure.

The ultimate surprise, a gardening set pays tribute to Christian Dior’s passion for the art of gardening. This limited-edition ensemble is composed of a folding leather seat – evoking the curves of the Saddle – and a leather-clad shovel and rake, specially designed for this capsule with the finest craftsmanship; all objects of desire to be discovered from June 2022.

Dior and Birkenstock present an unprecedented collaboration Dior by Birkenstock

«Thankfully, there are flowers,» said Christian Dior. He was known as a gallery owner, an architecture enthusiast, and a passionate fashion designer, but he also delighted in gardening. It was in Granville, in the rose garden of the family home overlooking the sea, that this fascination with the interweaving of nature and culture blossomed in his childhood.

Alongside his mother, Madeleine, the young christian enriched his knowledge of botany among the roses, wisteria, maritime pines and reseda. «I loved more than anything else to learn by heart the names and descriptions of flowers in the color catalogs published by the Vilmorin-Andrieux house», wrote monsieur Dior in his memoirs.

For the Dior Men’s F/W 2022 collection, the house and Kim Jones pay tribute to this passion, joining forces with Birkenstock for the first time to reinvent two of its iconic models. Standing for function and quality, the German brand creates unique shoes – both in form and function – to support walking as nature intended, drawing from a heritage that can be traced back to 1774, the year when shoemaker brothers Johannes and Johann Adam Birkenstock set out on their orthopedically inspired footwear journey – a commitment to craftsmanship they passed down from one generation to the next.

The Milano, launched in 1965, was designed as an outdoor sandal for active people and nature lovers, whereas the Tokyo model was launched in 1987 as protective footwear for walking and professions requiring a lot of standing. Both of the collaboration’s felt or suede models are dressed in the season’s hues, in addition to essential Dior gray.

Celebrating the art of gardening, they serve up functional style thanks to rubber details and industrial buckles. The result of a unique creative dialogue, Birkenstock’s anatomically shaped orthopedic cork footbed is lined with smooth leather, while the outsole combines the Dior oblique pattern with the German brand’s signature bones graphic.

As a final surprise, an exceptional version of the Tokyo, hand-embroidered with delicate flowers, completes the show’s couture silhouettes, a new symbol of Christian Dior’s love for nature. A contemporary ode to functionality and elegance, reflecting several skills of excellence.

adidas x Gucci

Originally debuting on the Exquisite Gucci runway, a mirror-filled space where historic emblems multiplied and metamorphized across sartorial streetwear, the first adidas x Gucci collection expands on the creative concept founded on an affinity for three stripes. Revealed in a lookbook released last month, the cross-category selection portrays the kaleidoscopic aesthetic of Alessandro Michele by mixing the codes of the House with those of the historic sportswear brand, and consequentially those of high fashion and streetwear.

For the launch, Alessandro Michele has envisioned a campaign that takes inspiration directly from an archival 1979 adidas catalogue. To animate the concept, a gridded template showcases a variety of moving imagery captured by Carlijn Jacobs. Against brightly colored backdrops, models stretch, run, or dance in place to a soundtrack of pensive phrases such as, «When your thoughts become reality, you understand what magic is

I am obsessed with the pink jumpsuit.

The assemblage plays out across women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, as well as on bags, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and lifestyle pieces.

Throughout the selection, the GG monogram and Interlocking G mix with the adidas Trefoil in colorful prints, as well as on jacquard fabrics; while the red and green Web of Gucci complements the three stripes of adidas. Pushing the collection further into hybridized territory, ready-to-wear pieces echo the sporting attire of decades past while portraying an undeniable contemporary character. Additionally, conventionally formal pieces like leather heels, suede loafers, and silk scarves are marked with casual codes. Beyond the standard selection, the expansive offering also includes some lifestyle items including a golf bag in two different variations, a nod to the House’s heritage in leisure products.

Reflecting a shared commitment to innovation, progress, sustainability goals, and collective action, the collection features multiple pieces crafted with future-conscious material fabrications including polyester, cotton, and viscose. Furthermore, each piece comes with special packaging that features the adidas x Gucci logo and that was strategically designed to reduce environmental impact (All paper and cardboard come from sustainably managed forest sources, and an uncoated paper has been used to ensure it is fully recyclable. In addition, shopping bag handles are made of 100% recycled polyester while pouches and suit carriers are made of a mix of regenerated cotton and recycled polyester).

The collection will be distributed through designated stores, online on Gucci.com and through ephemeral Gucci Pop-Ups, where the spaces will be decorated with one of the geometric prints found in the offering. A dedicated product selection will also be available on the adidas CONFIRMED app.

LoL, Sandra
