Hermès Passifolia Tableware

Early this year at Maison et Objet in Paris, HERMÈS launched a new tableware designed by artist and ornamentalist Nathalie Rolland-Huckel that I have fallen in love with immediately and that will hopefully make its way into my new home soon…

A true ode to the beauty of flora and tapping into the tropical jungle trend, the collection is named Passifolia – a portmanteau of Passiflora incarnata (the scientific name of the passionflower). Taking plant-based dining to a whole new level, it is the fruit of an artisanal adventure and an exploration of innovative know-how.

The service, which consist of around 30 pieces, offers an immersion in a universe that is both dreamlike and incredibly real, with floral and other more foliage-based compositions. Plates, platters and cups spread out across the table and form landscapes that invite contemplation.

A profusion of plant life to the dining table and a great way to add more greens to your table – so beautiful…

Wall & Wardrobe – De Gournay x Erdem

With so many of us at home right now, there’s no better time to make your space beautiful. Here is your welcome dose of whimsy as I would like to show you an amazing collaboration between de Gournay and British fashion house Erdem. The exclusive collection features limited edition Chinoise wallpapers alongside whimsical floral tiered dresses and other dreamy pieces, so that you can match your look to your interior design. This is what I call elevating your level of style!

Erdem Moralioglu – a designer feted for a signature expression of halcyon romance – whose creation of a new hand painted design for wallpaper and as a fabric for a line of his elegant silhouettes deftly pairs the realms of fashion and interiors.

A riotous depiction of nature in full bloom, the new design is a springtime vision of flora and birds: presenting the medium in a kaleidoscopic rendition of saturated tones.

Hydrangea, hollyhock, irises, chrysanthemum and morning glory jostle amidst a verdant lattice of branches, with sparrows, warblers, pheasant and egrets interspersed throughout. Honouring specific instruction from Erdem that the birds appear especially full of life, they appear darting through foliage, taking flight and energetically craning their necks.

With de Gournay’s provision of hand painted design work, the Erdem team plotted elements into a motif for clothing: altered in scale as a florid pattern garlanded across grounds of navy, white and black. The resulting collection for S/S 2020 combines the exquisite character of both brands, with de Gournay’s first executions of wallpaper in ‘Adam Grey’, ‘Kelly Gren’, and a ‘Golden Yellow’ painted to join their iconic Chinoiserie collection and seen for the first time within exclusive photography of the project. Each panel (91.5cm x 150cm-350cm) takes around 120 hours to produce and is handpainted in watercolour at De Gournay’s studio in Wuxi, outside Shanghai.

Exclusive to Net-à-Porter: Oleanna floral-print cotton-poplin midi dress

Erdem’s three separate capsules of stunning dresses and separates come with a white background for Net-à-Porter, navy for Bergdorf Goodman and black for Erdem’s own South Audley Street store and e-site. All three are available now.

I am in love with the Giudita tie-neck belted floral-print silk-voile dress.

A mutual dedication to beauty informs the endeavour, the results of which compliment the illustrious merits shared by Erdem and de Gournay both.

Follow Jo Malone London to Lavenderland

Jo Malone London introduces a new limited-edition collection, offering a fresh perspective on an iconic ingredient which you already know I adore: English lavender.

Journey to an enchanted world of violet visions, where English lavender meanders in purple pathways across the countryside. Discover a trio of takes on this timeless note, each offering a different presentation of natural lavender. One strikingly aromatic, the second fresh with a cool woodiness, and the third cascading with soft florals. Fall out of the ordinary and into a new lavender story.

The collection includes three limited-edition Colognes, each available in 30ml decorative bottles:

Wisteria & Lavender
Cascading wisteria frames a characterful house, creating a nostalgic purple picture. This soft floral presentation of English lavender is entwined with sweet wisteria and powdery heliotrope. A picturesque trio, cocooned in clean and delicate white musk.
Silver Birch & Lavender
Morning light across a rambling garden, framed by silver birch trees.
The air fresh with a crisp coolness that cuts through the iconic scent of English lavender. Refreshed with a squeeze of grapefruit, grounded by a woody, charismatic base of silver birch and a compelling note of roasted oak.
Lavender & Coriander
Aromatic English lavender nestled in a thriving and fragrant herb garden, bolstered by the striking note of coriander. Earthy sage deepens the lavender’s timeless scent, while creamy tonka bean adds an unexpected touch of warmth and sensual balance.

«In perfumery, we mainly use French lavender. It is such a familiar, popular scent, so we wanted to explore it in ways that you might not be used to. We’ve taken natural English lavender and gone in three different directions with the other ingredients, to give it that Jo Malone London twist.» – Celine Roux, Global Head of Fragrance

Each of these distinctive Colognes adds something unique when paired with another scent from the brand’s refined palette. Jo Malone London recommends pairing:
Wisteria & Lavender with Peony & Blush Suede for a sensual floral combination. Blooming peonies add opulence to dainty lavender and wisteria, with a soft trail of musk.
Silver Birch & Lavender with Wild Bluebell for an aromatic floral combination. The dewy delicacy of bluebell is wrapped in herbaceous notes of English lavender, warmed with amberwood.
Lavender & Coriander with Lime Basil & Mandarin for a zesty and aromatic combination. Spicy coriander and a kick of basil add herbaceous edge to sparkling citrus notes.

Two limited-edition home products complete the new collection, both infused with the scent of Lavender & Musk.

Scent the road to dreams with Jo Malone London’s limited-edition Pillow Mist. Aromatic English lavender mingles with a cocooning note of musk to create a soft and sensual scent that helps the user relax and unwind for a good night’s sleep.
Create a tranquil atmosphere with a Diffuser in the same fragrance. The perfect scent to place on a bedside table or dresser to encourage a relaxing mood.

A Fashionistas’s Bedding: Catwalk

World Sleep Day was two days ago and it made me realize that the right bedding can make or break how the whole room feels. One of the most popular bedding trends for 2020 is the use of bold, striking patterns in stark shades of black and white. And if you are really a fashion lover as I am, you should add some stylish bed sheets to your decor.

Recently on a shopping spree in town, I spotted CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER‘s newest luxury bedding line called «Catwalk». This light-hearted design, available in pink and white, is smattered with fashion classics in a tongue-in-cheek homage to iconographic designs. It is illustrated in the light, narrative style of fashion magazines and blogs – you will be reminded of CHANEL sunglasses and nail polishes, LOUBOUTIN heels and AESOP creams, topped off with champagne, strawberries and macarons. This beautiful satin bedding whisks you away on a city break to Paris and makes it look like a chic fashionista has just emptied the contents of her handbag all over a hotel bed.

Louis Vuitton Trunk and Sneaker Box

Unveiled at Atelier Louis Vuitton in Miami Design District, the hardsided Sneaker Trunk and Sneaker Box, in contemporary Monogram Eclipse canvas, join Louis Vuitton’s Trunk universe and promptly establish themselves as a sneakerhead’s essentials.

Inspired by the iconic Wardrobe Trunk, the Sneaker Trunk is designed to display a large collection of footwear. Impressive double doors open up to eight drawers for high-top sneakers and six drawers for low-top sneakers. Playful in execution, two mirrors have been specifically designed and added to the base of the trunk to admire pairs while trying them on. The Sneaker Trunk’s drawers and Sneaker Box’s walls give way to Monogram doors, revisited in a transparent allure, allowing one’s sneakers to remain on full display. In the Sneaker Box, shoes are placed atop a delicate slope, all the while tucked away in their special case.

The sky’s the limit!
Stackable, the transparent door of the Sneaker Box can be opened from the front allowing boxes to be piled on top of one another, as high as you can dream. The magnetic slope on the Sneaker Box hides two secret drawers, homes to shoe care products and other essential accessories. On the Sneaker Trunk, seven visible drawers home all shoe care products and other necessities.
