In 2012, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld joined forces to curate ‘The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s Classic Revisited’, which presented stunning photographs of stylish celebrities boasting their interpretation of Chanel‘s timeless and iconic black jacket. Over the last year, the book and exhibition were celebrated in cities across the globe.
Some of those photos were even the inspiration for Karl Lagerfeld’s artwork Fire Etchings, presented at Galerie Gmurzynska in February 2013 in St. Moritz.
This year, a new expanded edition of the book will go on sale (Steidl, Göttingen, 2013, 280 pages. Available in selected bookstores, €78).
For this occasion, Karl Lagerfeld has once again focused his lens on twenty or so international celebrities and close friends of the House, including Keira Knightley, Diane Kruger, Carla Bruni and Carole Bouquet. The photo shoot took place in Paris in the couturier’s studio in January 2013. Taking time out from their busy schedules, the celebrities all enthusiastically reinterpreted the little black jacket in their own inimitable style. Once more Karl Lagerfeld illustrates the universality of the Chanel jacket, one of fashion’s most legendary and timeless pieces.
Here is a sneak preview of how stunning Diane Kruger looks in it:
The exhibition is at the moment in Milan and opening next in Dubai on April 27, 2013. For more information, please click here.

Originally established as a creative consultancy, Acne (Ambition to Create Novel Expressions) was born when Jonny Johansson’s jeans designs became a hit with his clients. For a casual-cool update, look out for biker jackets, It-girl boots and signature skinny denim.
For the next three days, you have the privilege to shop these items before they are available to all mytheresa.com customers. Click here to be transferred directly.
The ‘Rita’ jacket has become a firm favorite with the style set, and has been seen on the likes of Alexa Chung and Blake Lively. Updated in shearling, this tobacco and light-gray version is made for fall.
For the uber-hip among you, Acne revamps its cult jacket for the new season in zesty yellow. Finished with silver zips and a luxuriously soft cream interior, it will seriously amplify your round-the-clock wardrobe. Who said cold-weather dressing can’t be colorful? This vibrant colour is available at net-à-porter.com.

Here they are the best sunnies available at the moment, the Audrey sunglasses…
…and my newest Spring crush, the floral shopping tote, both by Céline and in stores now.
Céline used this amazing floral print also for their Resort 2012 ready-to-wear collection. The leather biker jacket is so divine that I am dying to get my hands on it!

Spotted on many celebrities, the Balenciaga.Leather biker jacket can be named a true classic. Each season, the French fashion house is launching it in new tempting colours. The jacket has long sleeves, zip up detail and is made of 100% lamb skin.
While the classic black version never goes out of style, your daydream calls probably for a slightly more whimsical iteration of the biker look.
I am having it in a bright orange and I am loving it! Below I am wearing it with leather pants by Balenciaga, a top by Miu Miu, shoes by YSL and a daisy necklace by Dior Haute Joaillerie.

As a clothing brand, Closed dates back to the late Seventies and originated out of Italy. The brand quickly captured the market with their new denim design approach which has been the first alternative to ordinary 5-pocket jeans.
Denims and chinos are Closed’s core competences. The idea behind every new design is “form follows function”and this approach resulted in the DNA of the brand – the X-Pockets.
Now available is the Heritage collection which offers casual styles for a great price. Below you can see how cute those pieces can look.
And the clutch by Jeremy Scott would be a hilarious addition to your Closed look…

Kate Moss in Balmain for Vogue UK 09-2010
Yesterday, I hit myself with the corner of a shopping bag into the eye and had to go to the hospital. At least I did it in style.
Today, I look like a cyborg and declare red as the colour of the day.
As a little treat, I think that I will spoil myself with a red leather piece. This hot F/W 2010 trend is going to stay for S/S 2011 with Balmain leading the way. For summer, there will be embellishments and extra studs. But those objects of desire have their price.
Two super pieces, available at the moment, and not totally overexpensive are Joseph’s red leather biker jacket and Isabel Marant’s cropped pants.
Will keep you posted about the dangers while shopping!

Zara has this months some amazing pieces giving you the opportunity to include some of the new season’s must-haves as well as some solid classics into your wardrobe. Decide for yourself if you want to go steal or splurge. Those styles are both ways great.
I always recommend to understand and recognize quality materials and craftmanship, not only a designer label. With this in mind, you will invest with confidence and mix with less expensive pieces to create your own individual, so hard-to-copy look. But be careful! Your shoes and bag should always be of good quality.
For all Zara pieces click here for the webshop (not available in all countries) or visit the nearest Zara store.
For all designer pieces you just have to click on the label in the text to be transfered directly.
One of the It-pieces for Resort 2011 is Stella McCartney’s ivory wool-twill tuxedo jacket with black and white lapels above.
Animal prints like cheetah (Azzedine Alaia) or leopard (Chloé) are very trendy at the moment. Spotted on an A-line swinging skirt combined with a leather top (Derek Lam) shows the real fashionista. Suede pumps (Jimmy Choo) are always a good investment.
The basics are your wardrobe’s building blocks. A bow-tie blouse (Balmain) combined with a pair of wide-leg pants (YSL) is a truly classic look. The colour combination of black and white always in style. Those items will last for years. Shoes by Gucci.
Of course, no list of basics is complete without the ubiquitous LBD (Little Black Dress) This season has been all about leather and this is going to stay. So why not indulging yourself in the trend material and adding a striking, sizzling touch to the classic piece (Bottega Veneta; Maje). Suede wedges (Bottega Veneta) give another modern, edgy touch.
Happy Smart Shopping!

Feathers are a trend that seems to be always there. For F/W 2010 designers showed that fine feathers make fine birds. From beautiful marabou plumes to ostrich feathers, the creations were versatile. Being dressed in full feathers stands for a certain glamourous allure.
So Ladies, start looking for your feathers of prey:
A marabou jacket or cape is a piece for eternity. It adds the right amount of sophistication to every evening outfit or ball gown. I especially adore the ones from Balmain this season and would opt for a colourful piece.
The Gucci dress from the F/W 2010 runway collection is a smart choice as it comes with a removable feather-trimmed bolero.
In case you do not like to ruffle your feathers, I recommend a feather print or just a little detail like the ostrich-trimmed satin bag by Lanvin.
For F/W 2010, the possibilities are numerous. If you turn up your glam factor, you will surely not be shedding feathers.
And good news is, the feather trend is going to stay for S/S 2011. So those pieces are definitely great investments.
Ladies, it is time to adorn yourselves with borrowed plumes!

Pharell Williams is a genius, a multifaceted musician-artist-entrepreneur in one. So no wonder that companies like Moncler or Louis Vuitton have been branching out to collaborate with the rapper for some very special editions.
Pharell who is addicted to sparkles was called to create some bling bling for Louis Vuitton with Camille Miceli (who was Jewelry and Creative designer at this time, now she is at Dior) in 2008. The beautiful Blason collection (see above) revisits the idea of aristrocracy and is still sold in Louis Vuitton stores worldwide.
The F/W 2010 down vests and jackets for the new Moncler V line (see below) are reminding me of bullet-proof vests, very cool. They are made of Bionic yarn, which is produced by Pharell’s textile company. Available at Restir or Moncler.
Last night, Pharell Williams performed at Stella McCartney’s After Party that was held at Don Camilo, a cabaret/ night club in the 7th arrondissement. It was amazing! Here are some impressions, enjoy!

Sarah Jessica Parker attended yesterday in London the S/S 2011 Burberry Prorsum fashion show in an outfit that made her the style candy of the day.
The trendsetting actress wore a brown lace dress from the F/W 2010 line by Burberry Prorsum together with a stunning leather jacket from the upcoming Resort 2011 collection. In case you do not like to wait and would love to save some money, mytheresa sells a very similiar one on sale.
Sarah Jessica Parker topped off her look with a pale rose bag by Alexander McQueen and some killer heels by Nicholas Kirkwood.
Thumbs up!
