Edgardo Osorio for Salvatore Ferragamo sees Aquazzura’s creative director lend his talents to an iconic Italian brand. Let’s be honest, Edgardo is not only extremely handsome, he is probably one of the most talented shoe designers on this planet. I first met the Colombian-born genius a few years ago at his Paris showroom during fashion week and was immediately taken by his charm.
Last year, I was not only able to fly to Colombia but also to visit the House of Ferragamo during its 100th anniversary. This amazing collaboration between Aquazzura’s mastermind and the Florentine fashion brand is very special as Edgardo kick-started his career working at Salvatore Ferragamo ten years ago. This capsule collection of crazy-covetable collectibles combines the best of both brands, bringing together the utmost elegance with wearability and enduring chic.

I am obsessing over the brightly coloured printed sandals and feather-embellished beauties that strike the perfect balance of old-school Hollywood glamour and contemporary cool.
So you can imagine my level of happiness holding this surprise in my hand: the feather-winged suede sandals by Edgardo Osorio for Salvatore Ferragamo.

As you know, I love shoes and I have to admit that I stopped breathing for a moment when I spotted those embellished patent-leather Mary Jane pumps on the Dolce & Gabbana F/W 2015 runway. The lipstick embellishments at the toes and inside the heels are to die for. Finally, these beauties are in stores, unfortunately quite expensive. So if anybody is looking for a surprise for me, I wear a 36.5…

When I was in Los Angeles for the TOM FORD Ford F/W 2015 show, I was invited to visit the brand’s presentation of the upcoming beauty launches at the Sunset Tower hotel. The moment I entered the suite, my eyes were immediately drawn to two clutch bags placed above the fireplace.
This amazing piece of art is finished with a lipstick holder at one side and comes with the ‘Vanilla Suede‘ shade from the brand’s beauty collection (you can use every TOM FORD lipstick shade of course). It’s lined in leather and has a zipped pocket, so you can keep your essentials neatly organized inside. The concealable snake chain strap offers an alternative way to wear this elegant Italian-made piece.
Those clutches are highly limited and only available at selected retailers. Therefore I am so happy that a few are now available online. Just click on the highlighted links below to be transferred directly to the store. Those bags will literally be on everyone’s lips!

It was big news when GUCCI revealed their new Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, in January this year (for the previous post, please click here). One thing is for sure. The fashion industry loves debuts and indeed, Michele’s approach feels very different from what we had been knowing from Giannini’s collections. The new man at the helm of Gucci has a decidedly more romantic outlook, differing from the former sexy designs.
For his first season, Alessandro Michele created the DIONYSUS BAG, which will be the It-Bag of the season! With the horseshoe-shaped double Tiger-head closure as its distinctive feature, the Dionysus was named after the eponymous Greek god of wine, who crossed the river Tigris with the aid of his father, Zeus, who sent a tiger to carry Dionysus across.
The new Dionysus bag is available in various materials including exotic skins like python and crocodile, and even with embroidered embellishments such as a bee, snake or eagle, created using strips of brass whipped in silk thread.
My favorite model is this hand-painted floral motif as also seen in the F/W2015 ad campaign.
Design of the gods. A bag you’ll surely love to carry around this season and many more to come!

There is no doubt! You are looking at the top sneakers of the season: CHANEL‘s iconic style meets sports allure with an outstanding shoe design. Dream on, fashionistas, how much nicer grocery shopping would be if we all wore couture trainers. Spotted with everything you can imagine, from chic twin sets and casual everyday looks to ball gowns, the new CHANEL must-have features the iconic CC logo on the sole.
Low or high like a boot, laced up until the knee, it comes in twenty different combinations of materials and colours: tweed in a multitude of effects (chevrons, woven, bouclé …), suede, in laminated, crackled or iridescent leather, and in distinct associations dominated by black and pink, orange, black and gold, red and green, pink and silver…
The CHANEL F/W 2014 sneaker will be available in CHANEL boutiques in September 2014. Also available at COLETTE in Paris from now to October 4th and at LANE CRAWFORD, ifc mall in Hong Kong from September 19th to September 29th.

Burberry Prorsum were key in setting the blanket poncho trend for F/W 2014 and have left us spoilt for choice. I think these are a great alternative to a full-on coat. Wear yours thrown over the shoulder, as a coat or belted at the waist. These super-luxurious pieces are effortlessly chic and just perfect for when you need an impromptu cover-up should the weather suddenly become chilly in the evenings. The body-wrap rugs are designed with modern art references and are crafted in Scotland from lambswool and cashmere.

Cara Delevingne wore this checked wool and cashmere-blend cape as the closing look of Burberry Prorsum’s F/W 2014 runway – it cemented the global-luxe mood of the show. (The personalized version that has been spotted on many celebrities was only available right after the show until the beginning of March 2014 from the Burberry website.)
Don’t miss one of the hottest must-haves of the season!

Pleats are a must this season, spotted at the S/S 2014 runway shows of Haider Ackermann, Victoria Beckham, Proenza Schouler and Dries Van Noten. But how do you wear this trend without looking too conservative? Actually, it is very easy. Calf length skirts are the way to go. Preferably they come with some metallic details to add a little bling to your look.
The three pleated skirts of desire are this summer:
1Plissé cotton-blend midi skirt by Dries Van Noten
2Snake-print pleated crepe maxi skirt by Dries Van Noten
3 Foil-paneled pleated cloqué maxi skirt by Proenza Schouler
(I couldn’t resist this one…).

Sometimes, I am proud of myself, especially if I spot immediately an object of desire for the next season. In this case it has been CHANEL‘s amazing to-die-for backpack for S/S 2014 (see previous post from last November 2013 here please) which Karl Lagerfeld has transformed into a backboard for creativity, turning it into an arty and luxury accessory.
Playing with conventions the famous designer has personalised the backpack and given it an authentic and worn appearance: graffiti, tags, splashes of paint and colours, added details like scoubidous, snap hooks and luggage tags.
Every motif was specially conceived and reproduced thanks to a specific printing procedure which allows for a wide variety of shades and several colour effects. “There’s a certain lightness and a certain kind of humour in all this,” Lagerfeld declared.
Available in two sizes (as well as a third tote-shaped version) and three colours, the CHANEL backpack is available in the CHANEL boutiques, and also for a limited time at Colette, from now to March 8th 2014, where it is adorning the windows at the moment during Paris Fashion Week.

A veritable reflection of Karl Lagerfeld’s endlessly renewed creativity, the CHANEL S/S 2014 backpack symbolises the instantly recognisable quintessence of the Maison: the union of luxury and fashion. A collector’s piece and THE bag of the season!

Shoes speak louder than words, especially those to die for ones by Saint Laurent. An exacting standard of attitude, these black pumps will become your first port of call when it comes to downtown dressing. The vertiginous heel is supported with a generous platform, while gently swaying silver-toned chains add edgy appeal. My object of desire that has deserved its own post!

We all know that Karl Lagerfeld is a genius and he has proved it once more with his S/S 2014 runway show for Chanel for which he had transformed the Grand Palais into a gigantic white-walled hangar of paintings and sculptures, very Art Basel-like. All seventy-five artworks that served as the backdrop for this artsy collection were made by Lagerfeld himself.
On the runway, he showed amazing backpacks, toughened with a spray-painted version of the iconic logo and colorful chains that will surely fly off the shelves.
Ladies, get yourselves on the wait lists now (I am already on). Those backpacks are the next season’s must-have and in the meantime check out the ones by MCM.
