Kym Ellery‘s namesake Australian label is a favorite amongst the fashion crowd. So beloved are her iconic bell sleeves and flares that we all have to thank her for the trend that has become so recognizable and so widely copied that it continues to take off.
Hysteria cropped high-rise flared jeans
You should definitely not wait another day and get a pair of her signature mermaid pants. I am speaking of these to-die-for kick-flare trousers that billow out in a way that’s reminiscent of a mermaid tail.

One thing is for sure, for cult Ellery followers or newbies to the brand, the denim ones will definitely remind you that jeans don’t need to be boring. The mixture of both the silhouette and the finishings are both equally unique.

“We feel it’s inevitable and crucial to create contemporary clothing.” – Demna Gvasalia.
The Creative Director of Paris design collective Vetements and Maison Margiela alumni elevates deceptively simple pieces with meticulous construction, considered fabrics and playful proportions. Leading the fashion tribe, he set a new tone for denim with its no-hem-hemline: think cut-off, let-down, frayed and raw. With its coolness, it’s completely street style approved and worth the investment.

And now, aside from Vetements, it’s gone mass: J Brand, Mother, Frame and many others (see below), are going for the uneven, distressed hem.
If you don’t feel like maxing out your budget on a pair of denim jeans, I suggest taking your scissors to create your own frayed style. For all others have fun shopping!

The S/S 2012 collections deliver us explosions of prints and ladies, get ready to throw any sort of caution to the wind. Your summer pants should be all about wild prints in bold colours, in cuts from slim to palazzo.
Here are the best ones to shop at the moment, directly from the runway:

In the the ’80′s wearing floral print trousers was absolutely trendy. This summer, the floral fashion legacy is leading the runways and the streets. Designers plunged into a garden of Eden and have started to infiltrate our wardrobes with the most beautiful flowers.

Rena Lange knows how to design the perfect bow-tie blouse and Closed stands for the ultimate chino pants. The two fashion houses had an idea: Why not combining the two of them?
My favourite colour combination of the dream team: khaki and bright blue.
Well done! The look is cool, casual and elegant in one – with that certain twist. The limited edition dream team will be available in Rena Lange and Closed stores or can be ordered online, starting July 18, 2011.
Hurry, they will sell out fast!

Diesel has unleashed a possible new trend with the launch of “Jogg-jeans”. This new killer product is a mutant of denim and sweatpants, allowing you to sport your jogger bottoms out to do your groceries without looking like a slob.
The woven and knitted fabric has the look of a jersey weaving, giving the garment 360° elasticity, and is dyed in indigo and laundered to create a beautifully realistic denim pant effect. Jogg-jeans are available in three styles for women and in four styles, including one jacket, for the male collection.
I was able to explore Diesel’s latest innovations in the showroom. The fabric is really soft to touch, not as soft as typical sweatpants but much softer than jeans. I know that I will definitely get a pair of them. As for me, they are the best travel companions, perfect on an airplane.
Already available at Selfridges, in Switzerland starting from August 1, 2011 in all Diesel stores.

After yesterday’s post, I have some very good news for the business women among you! For F/W 2011, it is all about work, the suit your fashion must-have. The designers were keeping an eye on the functionality while not neglecting the style. Many of them continued to pay homage to the `70s. There are many different looks to choose from, so it is your season for heavy shopping!
The cropped pants emerged on the runways as a welcome alternative to skirts. An easy-going and much more comfortable (especially when sitting down) look for the office which will surely find many fans.
Cocoon shapes, oversized shoulders, the volumes are changing for F/W 2011. The trendsetters among us will sport this trend immediately.
The designers explored new shapes and came up with the dropped shoulders. No worries, the runway looks are still more exaggerated. Once the jackets hit the shelves, they won’t be as oversized as seen at Stella McCartney for example.
Slowly the Pre-fall 2011 collections are popping in, so if you don’t want to wait too long, start your shopping trip. June might be the best month to look. It is always such a wonderful feeling, when the new season starts. This time, there are many great outfts that will work for the office as well for the cocktail hour after.
So suit youself!

One day to go, royal bride to be, Kate Middleton, shows how a modern princess looks like with no tiara required. Royally adorable, she was seen out and about London wearing a pair of Diesel Ronhoir 88OZ and 08W7 jeans. Both times, she tucked in a blouse and finished off her look with sandals.
Kate is definitely not a fashion addict; she is a classy woman that found her style with confidence. Simple, never showy or exaggerated, what else could the Buckingham Palace wish for?!

As a clothing brand, Closed dates back to the late Seventies and originated out of Italy. The brand quickly captured the market with their new denim design approach which has been the first alternative to ordinary 5-pocket jeans.
Denims and chinos are Closed’s core competences. The idea behind every new design is “form follows function”and this approach resulted in the DNA of the brand – the X-Pockets.
Now available is the Heritage collection which offers casual styles for a great price. Below you can see how cute those pieces can look.
And the clutch by Jeremy Scott would be a hilarious addition to your Closed look…

Now available online at net-à-porter is J Brand’s new It-pants: The Gigi.
Cropped, flared and skinny, J brand’s hot shape takes style to a whole new level. Combine them with ankle boots or strappy sandals with a fur vest or a tank top. It is a simple way to update your wardrobe and easy to wear whatever the temperature. My favourites are the waxed ones, love this special fabric.
