Matthew’s Liquid Sequin Waistcoat

As you already know, I am a big fan of Matthew Williamson. Last night I went out and wore one of my favourite pieces: The liquid sequin waistcoat. This time I combined it with a black and white graphic dress from his winter collection, very high Yves Saint Laurent pumps and my sparkling Mini Noé Rococo bag by Louis Vuitton (see above and to the right).

For my Swiss based readers I have some very good news: Bongénie Grieder is carrying Matthew Williamson now in Zurich and Geneva. I spotted the waistcoat in black there (see below). Wear it with a white shirt and a pair of sexy leather leggings that you might already have. Accessorize this stunning look with a fringed bag by Jimmy Choo and those stunning gladiator sandals by Chloé. Both also available at Bongénie Grieder.

Pink and Orange

Yves Saint Laurent had an excellent feeling for colour combining and was the first one mixing the unexpected: pink and orange. What was a shock to the old school haute couturiers became one of his signature looks and still stands for pure elegance. Pink and orange together sounds like it won`t make sense but those unpredicatble juxtapositions usually look amazing.

This is the hallmark of a stylish woman: Make it your own, try the unexpected and mix the unusual. It might take some time to achieve that effortless look. But believe me it is absolutely worth it and your admirers will have to queue up.

Leap Year

Lepa Year

The new movie “Leap Year”  starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode is hitting the cinemas today. The romantic comedy is about the Irish tradition that women may only propose to men in leap years on February 29th. It is believed this antiquated custom was started in 5th century  Ireland by the legendary St. Patrick.

In the movie, Anna (Amy Adams) is disappointed because her boyfriend does not ask the important question on their four-year anniversary. Therefore she wants to take matters into her own hands and follows him to Dublin to get down on one knee herself on Leap Day. But before that she has to face all sorts of problems as she is stranded on the other side of the Emerald Isle due to bad weather conditions. With the help of an innkeeper named Declan (Matthew Goode) she travels across the beautiful country and experiences that the road to love can be unexpected.

Lepa Year2

As I am really looking forward to seeing this movie, I got inspired to create an outfit for the perfect proposal in the Irish countryside. Wouldn`t Anna look awesome in this cute belted flower dress by Stella McCartney combined with the faux-fur cocoon shrug by Elizabeth and James to keep her warm?! As it can be really muddy, the adorable quilted wellingtons by Marc Jacobs would be a functional but stylish addition to this cute look. And last but not least who could resist her glamorous embroidered sequined clutch by Stella McCartney and the vintage Bulgari pieces? Me- definitely not!

Femme Fatale

Femme Fatale Une Vraie

Today I have a stunning outfit for a reasonable price looking like a million bucks. Do you dream sometimes of being a Femme Fatale? This is what you need: A stunning LBD (Little Black Dress), a statement coat (meaning not too basic with some details but still classy), high heels and a great bag. The last one might be the most expensive piece of your outfit. Why? Because you should definetely invest in your bag as you can carry it every day and it will show your style immediately.

The LBD in my set is from Emily & Fin and only costs £65.-. The asymmetric shoulder line gives it the perfect and trendy shape but will still be never out of fashion. Likewise is this gorgeous light coat with the scarf detail by Great Plains for £120.-. Both pieces are available at www.coggles.com.

But the real glamour comes from that breathtaking headpiece less than €10.- at H&M that I adore like these beautiful shoes by Chloé. They would be a great choice to buy with a discount so please wait for the sale that should begin soon.

And last but not least let`s have a look at the bag: This one by Marni is quite expensive but absolutely worth the price due to its versatility. You can wear it during the day using the gold-tone metallic chain and ribbon strap or as an evening clutch. The flower embellishment makes it a super feminine accessory.

Put some red lipstick on and enjoy discovering your very own Femme Fatale!!!!
