My Look: Cinema

A cinema all for myself… this would be a dream coming true, especially after my trip to London this weekend. Unfortunately, I have to be in quarantine as the rules have suddenly changed Saturday night. This means, I cannot be at the Swiss premiere of the new House of Gucci movie. What a pity! Red plush seats and a full-on Gucci look … don’t you think this would have been a match made in heaven?! The movie will officially hit theaters this Thursday, December 2, 2021 in German-speaking Switzerland.

My look: Zipped GG-appliqué jacketicon, sailboat-print cotton-blend poplin dressicon, 1955 Horsebit small shoulder bag in red, Houdan Horsebit leather platform sandals, straw boater hat, GG lion head & beaded ring, snake finger ring with crystals, wide band in metal, and crystal-embellished earrings, all by Gucci.

Happy 12th Birthday, Sandra’s Closet!

12 years – as crazy as it sounds but I have been blogging now for 144 months, which is around 4380 days, and this is my 4924th post which means I wrote at least one per day. I am thankful, Sandra’s Closet has taken me on the craziest, busiest but most beautiful ride in my life.

To celebrate this beautiful occasion, I have an amazing contest for you. You can win two tickets for the Swiss premiere of the new movie HOUSE OF GUCCI on November 30th, 2021 which will take place at the Pathé Cinema in Spreitenbach (doors open at 6.30pm, movie starts at 8pm). Opened in 2019, it is the most modern cinema of all experiences with 10 rooms that are all equipped with comfortable seats (or beds) and the best image. The movie will officially hit the theaters in German-speaking Switzerland on December 2, 2021.

HOUSE OF GUCCI is the newest production from producer and director Ridley Scott with the most star-studded casts. Among the many recognizable faces are Lady Gaga, Jared Leto, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, and Salma Hayek. Based on the book by journalist Sara Gay Forden, that I read many years ago, it tells the true story of the feuding Italian dynasty that culminated when Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), the glamorous socialite, was charged with arranging the murder of her husband Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) in 1997. The movie is the perfect mixture of true crime and fashion. It shows some incredible Eighties fashion, styled by costume designer Janty Yates who was able to browse through the Gucci’s archives.

Here is your chance to win! Enjoy this new blockbuster movie in a plush cinema seat with popcorn and champagne. To win the two tickets for the Swiss premiere, visit my Instagram page and comment on this picture. I will announce the winner on Friday this week.

Good luck and thank you for reading Sandra’s Closet! I will also be at the premiere and cannot wait to see you and indulge in this blockbuster movie together!

My Look: Fab

Bringing Versailles to the street, here is another outfit from Moschino‘s fab F/W 2020 collection that I love so much. Inspired by the gilded extravagances of Marie Antoinette, this look is envisioned with both grand theater and good humor. Full of fun and fantasy, fabulous fashion let’s us dream and play dress-up. Something we definitely need today.

My look: Flared-sleeve mini dressthigh-high boots, and bow-embellished pillow clutch, all by Moschino, and vintage multi-strand couture pearl choker necklace by Dior.

My Look: Modern Marie Antoinette

Centuries after Marie Antoinette met her fate at the guillotine, her influence remains unshakeable. The French Queen serves as a constant source of inspiration for many fashion designers. When Jeremy Scott needed a gimmick for his Moschino F/W 2020 show, Marie Antoinette was there at the ready. Here you see me wearing one of the looks with a beautiful toile de jouy print on denim. I think this is something that Marie Antoinette would wear today.

My look: Graphic-print denim coat, jabot-collar blouse, cropped pants in printed denim, all by Moschino, Mage metallic embroidered velvet ankle bootsicon by Manolo BlahnikConstance 18 Mini noir black alligator mat with lizard buckle by Hermès, and  gold-plated glass pearl cameo clip earringsicon by Dolce & Gabbana.

My Look: Chill

I am enjoying a few days at the beautiful Baur au Lac, where I can chill and work at the same time. This maritime look is cozy, yet stylish and the perfect transitional outfit for fall. With the jacket closed, it is very conservative. Once you show the bralette, it gets a sexy twist.

My Look: A Tale of Winter

This was my outfit that I wore to the wonderful evening at the Dolder Grand with Glenmorangie. I am such a big Zimmermann fan. The creations are so feminine and easy to wear. Combined with muted colors or black, the dresses also work their magic during winter time.

My look: Concert embroidered floral linen-blend lawn dressicon by Zimmermann, Kronobotte 85 leather knee boots by Christian Louboutin, Kelly So Black in box leather by Hermès, and clip earrings by CHANEL (Métiers d’Art 2012 Paris – Bombay).

My Look: Lost & Found

Lost & found… after ditching fancy clothes during the lockdown, I cannot get enough of dressing up. Racy, big-cat prints are never out of style – go head-to-toe for the win. The perfect fall colors!

My Look: Berlin

This week was crazy … so much has happened and I am so far behind posting. My iPhone crashed and it took me one day to get it fully back. In those moments, you realize how much we all rely on those devices. However, I am happy that I have got it back and made it safely to my home country Germany to celebrate my mum’s birthday. Here you see me walking in front of the famous Brandenburger Tor in Berlin, one of the most iconic spots to see in the German capital, wearing the trendiest color of the season: green.

My Look: Sailor-collar knitted wool polo shirticon, and Ken Scott floral-print cotton-blend skirticon, both by Gucci, Point small leather tote in seagrass, green cat eye sunglasses, and Lagoon bubble-insole leather sandals in green, all by Bottega VenetaFF acetate earringsicon by Fendi.

My Look: Power Shoulders

One jacket, two looks. Power shoulders have always made a strong statement in fashion and they work with pants and skirts. The strong shoulder is most associated with the 80s, but it first had a heyday in the 30s and 40s, as a sign of women’s liberation, when the female suit was primarily birthed. I love this versatile Balenciaga jacket that comes with a built-in skirt. One piece, many options and styles … statement fashion for the woman of the new 20s.

My look: Oversized plaid wool jacket with built-in skirt detail (2017) by Balenciaga, cropped high-rise wide-leg jeans by Stella McCartney, cashmere circles appliqué scarf and logo striped oversized silk shirt, both by Prada, New Abby tweed sailor cap by Maison Michel, JW-charm gold-plated choker by JW Anderson, bean embellished leather toteicon by Simone Rocha, Vita suede platform sandalsicon by Amina Muaddi, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis, and leopard face mask by Dolce & Gabbana.
