My Look: Pink Is My Color

Truth is, I love everything pink. It is such a powerful color. Pink comprises pop culture and fashion, playfulness and girlhood. It can be innocent and not so innocent, luxurious and tacky. This weekend, I am feeling like floating on a pink cloud because it is my birthday. Therefore I have prepared this post as I will indulge in my special day and take some time off.

My look: La Veste Esterel jacket, matching Valerie cutout woven midi skirticon, Le Haut Pampelonne bralette, and Riviera frayed cotton pumpsicon, all by Jacquemus, small flap bag with top handle by CHANEL, Horsebit blue topaz diamond white gold ringicon by Gucci Fine Jewellery, and Pasha C chronograph in steel (2000) by Cartier.

My Look: Creative Vibes

Today some creative vibes from my side. The toughest part of my outfit posts is getting the photos done. My daughter used to do them for me, but since she moved to Boston, I lost my photographer. Being dependent on others is something I hate. Therefore I decided I will start taking them myself, and here is my first try. It is quite time-consuming, putting on the timer, running into position and hoping for the best. However, I think you still get a good impression of today’s look. Light blue and nude blend in perfectly with the landscaping in Gstaad and Valentino’s new Roman Studs are just beautiful. Wouldn’t you agree?

My look: Crystal-embellished belted wool and silk-blend crepe mini dress, and Roman Stud quilted leather shoulder bag, both by Valentino, Iriza 100 patent-leather pumpsicon by Christian Louboutin, and Rosamund silk-faille headband by Jennifer Behr.

My Look: Bridgerton

Binged Bridgerton yet? The ostentatious period drama set in the Regency Era has me looking through my closet and the fashions of the time. Here is today’s outfit inspired by my new favorite Netflix series shot in my room at the Gstaad Palace hotel.

My look: Ruffled velvet-trimmed floral brocade peplum jacket by Brock Collection, Alejandro ruffled-panel cropped jeans by Ellery, Mage metallic embroidered velvet ankle bootsicon by Manolo Blahnik, Himalaya Niloticus crocodile Birkin bag by Hermès, chain necklace with bow and multi-layered pearl and metal necklace, both by CHANEL, and Panthère de Cartier Manchette 22mm 18-karat rose gold and diamond watchicon by Cartier.

My Look: The Fog

Around Lake Zurich, it can get very foggy, especially during fall. Not being able to to see the sun after several days can really bring down one’s mood. However the beauty about Switzerland is, that if there is fog around the lake, you can almost always find the sun and blue skies above in the mountains. I spent the last two days in Zurich and when driving up today to Gstaad again, the sun was shining and it made me realize how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place.

My outfit definitely works on all occasions, sunny or foggy weather. I am absolutely loving it. It is playful, yet conservative, eye-catching, yet muted in colors.

My look: Sheep fur coat by Saint Laurent, houndstooth wool pinafore dressicon by Miu Miu, roll-neck jersey sweatericon by Dolce & Gabbana, Cassette chain-embellished padded intrecciato suede shoulder bag in dark brown by Bottega Venetapearl crystal birdcage pin brooch by CHANEL, D-Dream leather beret, and Dior Empreinte heeled boots, both by Dior.

My Look: Preppy

After a seemingly endless corona year of 2020 that paradoxically also flew by, 2021 has finally arrived. And about time, right? But as we look forward to new, layering-forward wardrobe opportunities, the hottest trend is actually revisiting the best of decades past. Time-honored preppy essentials that feel fresh and exciting with updated silhouettes and boundless styling options that all remind us of the good old times. Have fun getting lost in fashion nostalgia …

My look: Double-breasted frayed checked tweed blazericon, and asymmetric frayed checked tweed shorts, both by Balmain, VLOGO silk shirt by Valentino, bow-detailed embellished velvet headbandicon by Philip Treacy, Tanger leather-trimmed tasseled suede ankle bootsicon by Saint Laurent, vintage clip-on blue earrings (S/S 1995) and dark blue 2.55 bag in velvet, both by CHANEL.

My Look: The North Face x Gucci

Celebrating the spirit of discovery and being all wrapped up in some of the must-have The North Face x Gucci pieces, I would be hard to lose in a snowstorm such as we experienced in the end of last week. Just in one day, my garden transformed into a winter wonderland. The perfect backdrop to sport the vibrant colors, and prints inspired by garments from the ‘70s.

My look: Printed down vest, and ankle boots, both by The North Face x Gucci, rose-embroidered cotton-blend socks by Gucciicon, Phillipe cashmere-blend bouclé sweater, icon matching Pablo cashmere-blend bouclé midi skirticon, and colour-block tasselled cashmere scarf, all by Gabriela Hearst, FF-jacquard shearling-lined ski headbandicon by Fendi, and pochette Métis by Louis Vuitton.

My Look: Gstaad Experience

Here is the outfit I wore for my Gstaad experience last week. Cozy and warm, yet stylish, waterproof and protective, wearing a great ski suit makes you look awesome on the slopes and is also perfect for all other activities in the mountains.

Great news is that this ski suit is equipped with the RECCO® system. Since its launch in the 80’s, this rescue system has become the standard bearer in avalanche search and rescue technology. It’s always on and ready to go with no batteries that might run out and lasts a lifetime. For the wearer the system consists of a permanently attached «reflector» which is sewn into the Dolce & Gabbana outerwear pieces. When an avalanche happens, professional rescuers pull out a RECCO® detector which scans the slide area for signals and allows them to easily find those lost under the snow.

My look: Tropical rose print ski jacketiconmatching tropical rose print ski trousers, printed silk scarf, and roll-neck jersey sweatericon, all by Dolce & Gabbana, Trekkgirl snow boots by Valentino, vintage white mink ear muffs by CHANEL, medium shearling Bobby bag in grey by Dior, and LV Timeless metallic stole by Louis Vuitton.

My Look: New Year

I celebrated New Year’s Eve in grand style at the beautiful Gstaad Place hotel with friends. Towering over the village of Gstaad, the address offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Swiss Alps, and always the best parties with unique service. Even if we weren’t allowed to dance, the celebration was great and we still managed to move on our seats.

I wore this beautiful black Monique Lhuillier gown inspired by classic ’50s couture. It has a guipure lace bodice trimmed with a waist-cinching satin sash and a frothy tulle skirt that’s discreetly padded to create all that volume.

My Look: Satin-trimmed guipure lace and tulle gownicon by Monique Lhuillier, zodiac embroidered appliquéd canvas clutchicon by Olympia Le-Tan, Kate 100 suede pumpsicon by Christian Louboutin, crystal-embellished snake necklace, and silver-tone crystal clip earringsicon, both by Alessandra Rich, bracelets and Panthère de Cartier Manchette 22mm 18-karat rose gold and diamond watchicon, all by Cartier.

My Look: New Year Walk

New Year is the time to start a new chapter of life. Personally speaking, every day that you walk, you add valuable time onto your life. I enjoyed the fresh morning air on the first day of 2021 in Gstaad, getting a clear mind and the calories of last night burnt, all snuggled up in my cozy teddy coat and sweater.

My look: Teddy Bear Icon camel hair and silk-blend coaticon by Max Mara, sequin-embellished Polo bear jumper by Polo Ralph Lauren, Luck Lady stola by Louis Vuittonsilk satin-trimmed georgette shortsicon by Tom Ford, Trekkgirl snow boots by ValentinoCassandre small suede shoulder bag by Saint Laurent, and bow-detailed embellished velvet headbandicon by Philip Treacy.

Wishing you 12 months of success, 52 weeks of laughter, 365 days of fun, 8,760 hours of joy, 525,600 minutes of good luck, and 31,536,000 seconds of happiness.
Happy New Year!

My Favorite Outfits of 2020

It is the last day of the year and following my tradition, I would like to share with you my favourite outfits of 2020. A little retrospective recalling my most fashionable moments, mostly shot at home. I will remember 2020 as the year that sucked, not only because of the pandemic but because of many tragic moments affecting people that have been close to my heart.

2020 has challenged and squeezed our perceptions of what a bad year can be, draining the optimism and throwing us zinger after zinger. So let’s look at some good news to focus on as this year of bad news comes to a close. We will be getting back to «normal» at a certain point, which will be a different «normal», as the world has changed and we have to accept it.

However, I will never loose my love for fashion and dressing up, making every day a little bit more beautiful. In this sense, I am wishing you only the best and I hope that you will keep following Sandra’s Closet for the next years to come! To a fabulous 2021!

LoL, Sandra
