My Look: Grateful

I am so grateful that I recovered so easily from my COVID-19 infection and never showed the typical symptoms besides loosing my taste and smell for a few days. The isolation was tough on me. However, I spent my time reading and enjoying myself in my new home.

I am grateful that all my loved ones didn’t catch it and I  feel blessed for all the beautiful things in my life, including my closet! Speaking of which, I adore this outdoor look, comfy yet stylish, and hope you will like it as well.

My look: D-White turtleneck sweater, cream white cashmere sweaterreversible Teddy-D small brim bucket hat, D-Venture logo ankle boots, socks with Dior Oblique motif, Oblique saddle bag and blue shoulder strap, all by Dior, layered pinstriped grain de poudre wool and silk shorts by Chloé, and Audrey wayfarer sunglasses by Celine.

Are you grateful like me that 2020 will be over soon?

LoL, Sandra

My Look: Season’s Greetings

A completely different kind of year. 2020 will be seared in all our memories. It’s been a year that has fundamentally changed the world. Long established certainties about what we think is safe and what we believe is healthy in all areas of our lives have been challenged.

I would have never thought that when we shot these photos, this would be my only Christmas post and that I would be diagnosed just a little later with COVID-19. Spending the festive days all by myself in isolation is what I would call bad timing. However, I am extremely grateful that I have not spread the virus and that I have not been showing severe symptoms.

My look: Hooded quilted glossed-shell down jacketicon, printed silk-twill playsuiticon, and Rockstud leather knee-high boots, all by Valentino, monogram-print face mask by Dolce & Gabbanablack and white Dior 30 Montaigne large brim bucket hat with veil, and medium D-Lite Bag in Lights embroidery, both by Dior.

Warmest season’s greetings of good health, love, happiness, peace and prosperity from me to you!

LoL, Sandra

My Look: Do It With Passion

Yes, it is your passion that makes any work successful. If you are not passionate about anything, dont do it. It will just waste your time. Fashion makes me happy, therefore writing this blog gives me a lot of pleasure. Being in isolation due to my positive COVID-19 test, I am grateful for all the pre-shot material that I can share with you now.

Burberry’s classic heritage check is back in fashion and looking fresher than ever. When in doubt about print clashing, just go for the double check. I think it looks fabulous!

My look: Shearling jacketicon by Chloé, embroidered cashmere and silk-blend turtleneck sweatericon, pleated printed crepe skirticon, and check stretch knit sock boots, all by Burberry, beaded drop earrings by Oscar de la Renta, andicon Daily Multi Pocket belt bag by Louis Vuitton.

My Look: Boss Lady

«Look like a girl. Act like a lady. Think like a man and work like a boss… »

Here I am standing at the construction site of my new home, actually what will be my future bathroom. I truly enjoy the creative process of building and designing. Even that it is not possible to live there yet, I can see the rooms already coming to life in my imagination. It is very time consuming, yet extremely satisfying.

My look: Asymmetric open shoulder dress, by Louis Vuitton, Boss Lady pumps in pink by Sophia WebsterNiki mini studded quilted textured-leather shoulder bagicon by Saint Laurent, CC logo tights by CHANEL, and Lecce leather belticon by Isabel Marant.

My Look: Black Friday

My kind of Black Friday! Due to the current pandemic, I have a phobia of long lines, and too many people. I am a big fan of online shopping anyway which also avoids pressured decisions. Don’t be tempted too much just because it is marked down. Invest in classic pieces that you will treasure forever like this outfit I am wearing in today’s post.

My favorite offer today so far? MYTHERESA offers 30% off already marked down pieces. Click here to browse through the large selection.

My look: Satin-trimmed crepe and lace blazericon, ruffled lace-trimmed wool-blend mini skirticon, cotton-blend lace bustier topicon, and leather waist belticon, all by Alexander McQueen, Bond Street 105 chain-embellished suede and mesh pumpsicon by Aquazzura, Monogramme glittered canvas shoulder bag by Saint Laurent, and Glomesh bandana necklaceicon by Prada.

Happy 11th Birthday, Sandra’s Closet!

11 years – as crazy as it sounds but I have been blogging now for 132 months, which is around 4015 days, and this is my 4559th post which means I wrote at least one per day. I am thankful, Sandra’s Closet has taken me on the craziest, busiest but most amazing ride in my life.

To honor the occasion, I thought I would share 10 fashionable fun facts about me that you might not know yet.

1. I went to a Catholic girl’s school and took my teachers shopping on class trips. In Rome for example, they bought the Moschino logo belt that has gone into style a few years ago again. Speaking of great investments.

2. Before my fashion design studies at ESMOD, I studied law. During an internship at court, I worked with the customs agents at Frankfurt airport and was really good in spotting counterfeits.

3. My first foray into working in fashion was an internship at Sonia Rykiel in Paris where I worked alongside the late designer. A very challenging yet unforgettable experience. I designed bags and T-shirts that were actually produced and have a proud spot in my closet.

4. Preferring to write about and style fashion, I started as a booking assistant at German Marie Claire magazine after my studies, and worked myself up pretty fast to fashion editor.

5. Before mytheresa.com was an online shopping platform, I created catalogs for them, the concept, layout and text.

6. Speaking of which, my favorite thing about blogging is the graphic design part, as you can see in my collages. My techniques are primarily self-taught which makes me proud. I also love drawing.

7. I was named among the most influential German fashion people in the coffee table book «Fashion Germany» along Claudia Schiffer, Peter Lindbergh, Jil Sander and many more…

8. I have started my fashion collection at the age of 16 and have kept everything. Every piece has its story and I always remember where I got or wore it.

9. I haven’t been without nail polish, both on my fingers or toes, since I am a teenager. Not one single day!

10. I have lived in Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong, Chicago before Zurich and my biggest dream is to open a fashion museum with my collection.

I hope you have enjoyed this little insight about my life before starting the blog.

My Look: The Art of Fashion

No one revisits the art of fashion better than Jonathan Anderson at Loewe. Offering dramatic new silhouettes, he thinks outside the box and is for me one most exciting designer in fashion at the moment. Often seeking inspiration from different artists, his designs are museum-worthy. Stay tuned for his newest collaboration coming up next week …
