Louis Vuitton – LV Runner Tatic

Louis Vuitton launches a new iconic trainer, with the first model offered exclusively in Miami, in the very first Men’s store in the United States. The LV Runner Tatic is a new addition to the iconic family of Louis Vuitton trainers. Inspired by the running spirit and smooth curves of the 90s, this shoe is the most flexible, technical and agile in the collection. Its design boasts many areas of expertise. The wave-shaped sole is injected with foam, making it cushioning and resilient to support every rebound, every quest for speed.

It’s meticulously constructed from heatsealed mesh and suede calf-leather, using the minimum amount of stitching necessary. The shoe features finely detailed, reflective Monogram flowers, adding further vibrancy. A new iconic statement piece with a dynamic, fresh appeal, the LV Runner Tatic complements every look in the S/S 2022 collection.

A green model will be available exclusively in Miami, from 29th November, in the first Louis Vuitton store in the United States dedicated entirely to men’s collections. This new location, situated in the Design District, will be the second Louis Vuitton Men’s store in the world, after the first opened in Shibuya, Tokyo, last year.

In January, this ultra-collector’s piece will be joined by five equally desirable versions, featuring contrasting colours (blue, mocha, white…) or a monochrome bias (black). These five alternative colourways incorporate the same materials, as well as a Louis Vuitton label on the tongue. They also sport a new dynamic, contrasting LV signature embroidered on the side.

Available in store starting January 20th.

Valentino’s Couture Platform Boots and Shoes

First presented during the Valentino Code Temporal S/S 2021 Haute Couture fashion show in Rome, Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli showed some insane platform boots and heels. Reminiscent of stripper boots, they represent a conscious exaggeration and a proud demonstration of personality, inspired by Lady Gaga. Considering no one else has really presented big platform soles lately, which I totally miss, those Valentino shoes immediately caught me eye during Paris Fashion Week.

Valentino Code Temporal S/S 2021 Haute Couture

Bright, bold, and as ultra high, those incredibly shiny gold boots are really «couture». The leather is shaped in a ruffled slouchy way that stays perfectly in shape. The boots are surprisingly light and easy to balance on. Along this key style, there is also an ankle-strap platform pump, and a golden wedge.

Love at first sight in the Paris Avenue Montaigne store.

The special packaging

Presented with a special packaging dedicated to Valentino Code Temporal collection, these bold shoes are only available in selected Valentino boutiques worldwide: Tokyo Ginza, Beijing Shin Kong Place, Shanghai Plaza, Madison Avenue New York, The Dubai Mall, Milan Montenapoleone, Rome Piazza di Spagna, Paris Avenue Montaigne and Monte Carlo. A huge thank you to the Zurich store for getting them for me!

The new Valentino Garavani platform shoes and boots set a new step for couture and found their place in Sandra’s Closet.

For those, who like platforms but don’t want to go that high, Valentino has also a more modest version available. CLICK HERE TO SHOP.

Balmain x Barbie®

Earlier this year, Balmain‘s creative director Olivier Rousteing revamped Mattel‘s Barbie for the Maison’s Paris Fashion Week presentation in house pastel tones, donning peaked pagoda-shoulder suits – posing in front of the same jetliners that were used as props for Rousteing’s aviation-inspired  F/W 2021 collection.

Two Balmain barbies, and one Balmain Ken, all three dolls embrace Olivier’s vision on inclusivity. «I’m happy to see that these new-generations Barbies truly reflect the diversity of our Balmain Army,» he said.

The original sets for Théâtre de la Mode were destroyed, but new ones were created to display the figurines, which can be seen at Maryhill Museum of Art.

This collaboration between Mattel and the French house is a tribute to Pierre Balmain, who in 1945, after WWII, contributed along other designers such as Balenciaga, Carven and Lulien Lelong, to the «Theatre of Fashion» to present their latest creations. It was a traveling spectacle made of dolls, started by the School Of Chambre Syndicale De La Couture Parisienne. Pierre Balmain dressed over 200 dolls with outfits specifically created for the occasion.

Now, the first must-have piece of this collaboration has hit the shelves. Ski season styling is given a cute update with the After Ski Tundra boots from Balmain x Barbie®. They’re designed with the label’s monogram in pink and are accented with bows.

Paris Texas

Inspired by modern women from around the world, Paris Texas is an Italian shoe label that embodies the idea of contrasts. Paris – meaning «sophisticated in style» – and Texas – a «fun attitude» – together convey the essence behind the brand’s versatile designs, which revolve around creativity, freedom and expression.

The brand was found in 2015 by sisters Annamaria and Margherita Brivio as a way to create high-quality shoes that felt fashion-forward but still reasonable in price. The designers inject eccentric details into every style in order to create sophisticated and feminine silhouettes that will upgrade any outfit.

The must-have sparkling Holly embellished suede knee-high boots have instantly become a fashion girl staple.

Birkenstock First Drop of 2nd 1774 Collection

BIRKENSTOCK 1774 launches its second collection following their successful first collection launch at Frieze Los Angeles in January 2020. An exclusive first drop will be available at 1774.com and selected retailers worldwide from September 20th before the collection is released globally in February 2022.

BIRKENSTOCK’s favourite heritage styles are re-imagined with modern edge, as the iconic
Arizona and Boston designs arrive in seasonless developments that showcase new hardware, branding, and materials. Two styles from the first drop.

The full leather Arizona builds on the first season, as the signature slim leather sole is relaunched in embossed premium leather, with a crocodile effect in black. The signature BIRKENSTOCK buckle forms a classic basis of elegant versatility. This Arizona is crafted in a black tone with matte finished edges, for a timeless appeal.

An ode to the iconic Boston is translated in canvas straps on ultrasoft suede leather. With a nude, soft EVA outsole, the Boston is crafted in an anatomically shaped BIRKENSTOCK cork-latex footbed, wrapped in exquisite, smooth Nappa lining. The newly developed square buckle is for perfect adjustability.

The Boston is a unisex style and the Arizona is available until size 42 – both show the ultimate craftsmanship and unrivalled comfort that BIRKENSTOCK 1774 is renowned for. Distinctly 1774, both arrive with the logo imprinted in the footbed, with an additional exclusive shoe box and dust bag in 1774-design.

Birkenstock x Proenza Schouler – Part 2

Birkenstock continues its collaboration with Proenza Schouler, reimagining styles from the original collection in bold new colors.

Proenza Schouler, the New York ready-to-wear brand, founded by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez in 2002, unite with Birkenstock by their common appreciation for form and functionality, the collection is inspired by a combination of utilitarian workwear and athletic footwear. Executed in a polished, specchio calf leather, the shoes feature a hook-and-loop closure in place of hardware buckles and are finished with industrial contrast topstitching to further refine the classic Birkenstock sandals, Arizona and Milano.

The collaboration showcases iconic Proenza Schouler palettes with vibrant cobalt blue, rustic luggage burgundy, and elevated neutrals in black and ecru; a transitional color range intended to carry the wearer from late summer to early fall.

«We are thrilled to expand on our collaboration with Birkenstock; Birkenstock and Proenza Schouler both share a common respect and admiration for the craftmanship and detailed work that is integral to all of our products. We are excited to pick-up where we left off and expand on the collection with fresh colorways that feel very in the moment and true to our brand.» – Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez

For this special re-issue, Birkenstock and Proenza Schouler have enlisted photographer Collier Schorr to capture King Princess as the face of the campaign. The New York native singer and songwriter emulates the artistic and unapologetic individualism that is heritage to both brand identities. The capsule collection will be available at 1774.com, proenzaschouler.com, select Birkenstock and Proenza Schouler retail locations, as well as select retailers worldwide from August 6th.

Louis Vuitton Vendôme Flex

Louis Vuitton introduces the Vendôme Flex collection, three signature staple styles for the men’s wardrobe.

This classic and timeless line includes a Derby shoe, loafer and Chelsea boot, and combines shoemaking expertise with all of today’s needs for comfort and elegance. Each of the three Vendôme Flex styles requires the mastery of expert artisans at the Louis Vuitton shoe workshop in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy. The traditional Goodyear-welted seam has been enhanced with a new flex technique, the result of an extensive reworking of the traditional sole, lining, and upper leather to improve their softness. Special technical materials have also been placed within the insole to provide comfort formerly reserved for sneakers.

Comfort aside, these iconic and timeless shapes exude a modern and relaxed attitude in a contemporary style. The Derby is made from a single piece of waxed calfskin, while the loafer and Chelsea boot feature accents of Louis Vuitton’s emblematic Monogram canvas across the former’s upper, and along the tab of the latter. Crafted in the finest leathers and sublimed by exceptional craftmanship, the three Vendôme Flex styles indulge in a world of supple elegance, breathing independence and freedom with every step.
