The Hoodie

Trending now is the hoodie, but not just a hoodie… I am talking oversized, logo embellished, expensive and sold-out hoodies! The streets of New York, London, Milan and Paris have been filled with showgoers cocooned in those must-haves, and celebrities like Rihanna and Kim Kardashian are stepping out in hoodies that don’t call for any pants.

Suddenly, the hoodie becomes a luxurious wardrobe piece that you can dress up with a pencil or ruffled skirt and heels. But how much should you pay for a hoodie?

My favorite this F/W 2017: Cotton hoodie by Balenciaga
it comes with a hefty price tag of approximately CHF 600.00.

If you are maxing out your credit card for one of these beauties below, don’t feel guilty! It is worth this season… and if you don’t want to, no worries. You can always buy a CHF 10.00 hoodie and maybe look just as cool.

Fashion Is Not Superficial

Are you one of those who think fashion is superficial? Sorry, you are absolutely wrong. First of all you cover what most likely means a lot to you, your body, second of all, fashion has power. People are judging you during the first seconds they meet you. So choose your outfit wisely. Now, it is time to set a statement!

Here are some sweaters that are embellished with great essential quotes. Your turn to choose your mantra!

Gucci or Mutti?

Browsing through Instagram, I saw a picture of my dear friend Yasmin von Schlieffen, that gave me a big smile and made my day. On the photo, the Hamburg based owner of the PR agency «Mrs Politely» and mother of three boys wore a T-shirt reminiscent of the GUCCI TEEicon everyone is craving at the moment but instead of the iconic label it said MUTTI. (For my readers who don’t understand German, this is a word for mummy that you would use for an old-fashioned mum but in a kind of cute way – still my daughter is not allowed to use it and the same goes for me with my mum. If I called her Mutti, she would be freaking out. We call our German chancellor Angela Merkel «Mutti», I think now you finally got what I mean).

This T-shirt is a must for me. It is available at shop-hellolove.de (E-mail: contact@shop-hellolove.de, Phone: +49 40 33450933, Address: Eppendorfer Weg 283
20251 Hamburg/Germany).

Yasmin’s look: «Mutti» Tee by Hello Love, jeans by Zara, pearl necklace by Gabriele Frantzen, shopper by ChanelY charm by Iphoria and Princetown embroidered slipper by Gucci. Let’s admit completely without Gucci is difficult these days :-).

To all the Muttis out there, have a lovely day!

Marc O’Polo Celebrates 50 Years with Robbie

Yesterday, MARC O’POLO celebrated its 50th anniversary with a very special celebrity appearance and collaboration. Robbie & Ayda Williams, synonymous for couple goals, were in the brand’s Munich flagship store to present their special edition sweatshirt in person.

«I just like pink.» – Robbie Williams

In the evening, the clothing company was rocking its birthday in festival style at its headquarters in Stephanskirchen with 1800 guests, a fashion show, and a live concert. Joining Robbie Williams that night was another celebrity and current face of the MARC O’POLO campaignMads Mikkelsen.

I had been so much looking forward to attending this fun night but a severe food poisoning had knocked me out and I had to stay home. Therefore I can only show you the official photos and some old ones of me with the three stars.

Left: Mads Mikkelsen, top right: Peter Lindbergh and bottom right: Robbie Williams

Personally speaking, I adore the campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh and also the sweater in pink. Too cute! The MARC O’POLO Iconic Capsule Collection is available exclusively now in MARC O’POLO Stores and on www.marc-o-polo.com.

Werner Boeck, owner of Marc O’Polo, Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Williams attend the launch of the Marc O’Polo 50th anniversary special edition sweatshirt and the crowds in Munich go crazy.

Cuddling moments – Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda were accompagnied by their dog ‘Showbiz’ during the launch event.

The New Prada Cinéma Eyewear Collection

The new Prada Cinéma S/S 2017 eyewear collection stands out with its stylistic blend of sophisticated elegance and contemporary details.
The new sunglasses draw inspiration from the 1960s, reinterpreting the classic rounded shape with a modern twist. The oversized acetate front features thick lines enhanced by the shiny metal upper front profile. They are sophisticated while being extremely wearable.

The iconic flat metal temples – a key theme of the Prada Cinéma collection – are creatively matched with the acetate tips.

The palette includes a wide range of colour combinations, from classic Black and different shades of TortoiseClassic, Medium, Orchid, Talc – to the new fresh upcoming delicate nuances of Crystal Nude, Crystal Aqua and Crystal Blue.

The collection is available at prada.com, Prada stores and selected retailers worldwide.

The launch is accompanied by a digital film starring model Giedre Dukauskaite – a playful homage to the cinematic escape in which the transformational fantasies of film take center stage. A deceptively simple story of a day at the movies, but what apparently seems an ordinary escape gives way to an unexpected plot.

Fashion Stole My Smile

«Fashion stole my smile» is actually hard to believe when you think that Victoria Beckham received yesterday the Order of the British Empire ceremony as the designer’s and former pop star’s contributions to the national fashion industry were honored at Buckingham Palace. Wouldn’t we all be grinning if we received such a recognition from Prince William?! Dressed in one of her iconic ladylike knit dresses, she was accompanied to the palace by her parents and husband, David Beckham, who was granted the same title 13 years ago.

The dress was really beautiful and cozy. Its bouncing hem gave her a young school girl-like look that she paired with her signature sky-rocketing stilettos for a posh overall look.

Still the question, which she hates the most, is there: Why doesn’t she ever smile?

«I’m smiling on the inside—I feel I have a responsibility to the fashion community.» – Victoria Beckham

Recently she was spotted at LAX airport in a T-shirt from her Victoria, Victoria Beckham Pre-fall 2017 line, that has almost sold out in a second. It should put the issue to rest once and for all.

The slogan tee «Fashion Stole My Smile» is available now for £95.00 online in black and white and in her London store at 36 Dover Street.

Dior’s Feminist Tee & J’Adior Kitten Heels

Last summer, Maria Grazia Chiuri was officially named Creative Director at Dior, making history as the first-ever female head designer in the prestigious fashion house’s 70-year history. To celebrate that milestone, the designer debuted her first collection for the brand with some to die for statement-making tees.

The ultimate must-have for all fashionistas among the midst of tulle, lace and an array of romantic gowns, is a white graphic t-shirt emblazoned with the words, “We Should All Be Feminists” that walked the runway tucked into a floor-length sheer tulle skirt.

Hurry up as they will sell out in the next hours for sure!

Rihanna wearing Dior’s feminist tee

Great news is that Dior announced that a portion of sales from its “We Should All Be Feminists” tees will benefit The Clara Lionel Foundation that was founded by the fashion house’s ambassadress Rihanna back in 2012 for whom «in the fight against injustice, inequality, and poverty, access to education and health is our most powerful weapon».

And if you happen to be at Dior, grab a pair of those ladylike kitten heels that are featuring an arched-heel slingback with J’Adior-printed ribbon trim. So cute!

So Fake It’s Good

fake_tees

In general, we are more confronted in life with things that appear real, but most of the time are usually fake. In terms of fashion this season, we are confronted with «fake» T-shirts that are actually true designer pieces, but are looking like counterfeit products.

From Alessandro Michele‘s brilliant idea to create a plain white tee printed with the house’s GG with its signature green and red stripe that looked like a bootleg copy to Dolce & Gabbana‘s logo play.

Both tapped into the same ideas as Gucci‘s collaboration with graffiti artist Trouble Andrew, aka GucciGhost, for F/W 2016, when he sprayed bags with the word «Real» above the house’s name, that flew off the shelves and will come back this season.
