Today, I also went to see theErmanno Scervino S/S 2012 show which took place at la Scuola Militare, the military school. The scenery was quite impressive and a wonderful juxtaposition to the very romantic and feminine collection.
With the next summer collection, Ermanno Scervino takes us on a voyage across India of Rajasthan and of the Maharajas. The Florence based designer is constantly melting different worlds and different materials, combining sportswear and couture by playing with unexpected combinations, such as geometric jackets over light ruffled dresses.
In the front row (so-called “frow” now), I spotted Alice Dellal (model and sister of shoe designer Charlotte Olympia) who is the new advertising face for the Ermanno Scervino F/W 2011 campaign, in the amazing black overall from the winter collection. Alice with her edgy look adds the right twist to those soft and playful creations.
Great choice! I have loved the S/S 2012 show and you? You can watch it at the end of this post.
“I always wanted to make a perfume which would have the same resonance for everyone, something like tenderness, or childhood and I wanted there to be such a sensual contact with this perfume, that you almost feel like devouring the person you love.”
Thierry Mugler
Love it or hate it! It seems that this oriental-gourmand fragrance allows only the extreme. Since its creation in 1992, it is one of the bestselling scents around the globe.
IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS ANGEL… A GOURMAND PERFUME THAT HAS BECOME LEGENDARY.
FROM STAR TO COMET – A NEW EAU DE TOILETTE
Almost 20 years later, a new satellite appears, Angel will be available as Eau de Toilette with a new shaped flacon in a modern interpretation.. Angel’s dazzling star gives birth to an undulating comet.
More than just a difference in concentration, Angel Eau de Toilette is a unique harmony of scents composed by Amandine Marie (Robertet). It has become “oriental-gourmand-powdery”.
Top Notes: Bergamot, red berries and pepper
Middle Notes: Praliné, caramel and berries
Base Notes: Patchouli, vanilla, cedar and white musk.
Faithful to Angel’s tradition, the Comet, available in 40 ml and in 80 ml, is refillable, thanks to its eco-source bottle (40 ml).
A MESMERIZING CAMPAIGN
Eva Mendes is the glamorous woman for the Eau de Parfum and beguiling icon for the Eau de Toilette, she embodies all the addictions of Angel.
New muse, new campaign… I loved the illustrations so much that I wanted to share them with you.
Always spectacular, the Angel woman rediscovers a certain type of intimacy in her perfume and in her dreams, expressing a seduction more moving than ever.
One woman, two stories…
A deserted train station. A shimmering clear night. The Angel woman waits for the train that, with its guiding star, will take her to the depths of her dreams.
In the “Dream Machine”, comfortably seated, she sprays her wrist lightly. After scarcely a whiff, she gives into pleasure, eyes closed, and takes off…
Her first dream brings her back to childhood memories of a fair, the Ferris wheel and cotton candy. This vision becomes hazy and takes the shape of the Eau de Toilette bottle followed by the Eau de Parfum bottle that sets her off on her next trip. She dances in this day dream, as though completely spellbound, among constellations of stars. Enchanting…
And the imaginary odyssey ends, giving way to reality. As she gets off the train immersed in a blue light, her exalted expression keeps you guessing about the thrill and the transgression of her experience.
Looking up to the sky that welcomed her, she takes the ultimate memento of her recent experience out of her trench coat pocket: the scintillating Angel bottle.
The world wide campaign, conceived by Thierry Mugler and orchestrated by Christophe de Lataillade, the brand’s Artistic Director, has brought together an exceptional cast. British director, Baillie Walsh, directed the film and the image was immortalized by the duo of fashion photographers Inez van Lansweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.
Below is the new commercial with Eva Mendes singing. Hope that you like it.
Charlize Theron, the ultra glamorous face of Dior, adorned with a gold lame dress, is on the runway in the Hall of Mirrors of Château de Versailles, in front of Jean-Jacques Annaud’s camera.
All eyes are on her and backstages are the scene of unexpected encounters…The music is fabulous, I am not going to tell you more, just turn on the sound and enjoy!
Have a look at Lanvin’s F/W 2011 ad campaignphotographed by Steven Meisel which is for me one of the best ones ever. The humourous take of the must-see video (at the end of this post) is just sensational, Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmermann are dancing like there is no tomorrow. My favourite part is Alber Elbaz, Creative Director of the French house, joining in the fun in the end. Pure goofiness! And the clothes are divine…
Parfums Christian Dioris introducing a new version of its J’adore eau de toilette. The floral perfume was initially released in 2002 and has been a bestseller since then.
Perfumer François Demachy signs the new variation that benefits from a higher quality of orange blossom sourced from Tunisia, as well as a greater quantity of the ingredient entering the formula. Other notes include mandarin, Damascus rose, tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, sambac and vanilla.
Available from August 29, 2011, CHF 104.50 / 50ml, CHF 149.50 / 100ml
On September 4th, 2011, a new advertising campaign will debut with spokesperson Charlize Theron who was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier in the Hall of Mirrors at the Château de Versailles. Jean-Jacques Annaud directed the 90-second commercial. Enjoy the little teaser, it is absolutely stunning!
Over one year ago, I told you already about Navyboot’s relaunch and their talented new Creative Director Adrian J. Margelist. For the previous article, please click here.
Today, we can enjoy the outcome. The Swiss company, that is expanding to other European countries now, has presented their F/W 2011 advertising campaign last week shot by Peter Lindbergh and starring Swiss supermodel Julia Saner and Patrick Petitjean. Below you can also find some of their winter must-haves like the Coucous bag and the making of video.
The collection captivates through its beautiful details, like purple stitching, colourful linings and for the gentlemen welt-sewn shoes.
Those boots are made for walking… and for admiration!
Today, I would like to share a video about me that was produced by Closed for the F/W 2011 The X campaign. You will probably see a quite different Sandra.
The gorgeous striped cardigan, the lace top and red pants areall part of the upcoming winter collection by Closed, the ruched suede booties are by Gucci. Enjoy!
Here is the video of Closed‘s F/W 2011 The X campaign photographed by Lina Scheynius!
Enjoy this behind the scene coverage and see how much fun we had.
I have just heard the terrible news that Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home in London this afternoon by emergency services. Her death is being treated as „unexplained“ by police but an overdose is considered the most likely cause, although a full autopsy will have to be performed. Winehouse has had a troubled life which has included various stints in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.
We will miss her fantastic voice and her eclectic style of her golden days. Inspired by the chic of the `60s, Amy’s enormous beehive hairdo even inspired Karl Lagerfeld to send his models down the catwalk sporting the same hairstyle for his Chanel show three years ago.
“She is a beautiful, gifted artist. And I very much like her hairdo. I took it as an inspiration. Because, in fact, it was also Brigitte Bardot’s hairdo in the late Fifties and Sixties. And now Amy has made it her own style. So, when I saw her, I knew it was the right moment. Amy… she is the new Brigitte.”
– Karl Lagerfeld
Amy’s heavy black eyeliner was her signature and she loved `60s-era Capri pants with short-sleeved fitted shirts and little puffball skirted mini dresses.
She was 27. Coincidentally, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix were all also 27 when they died. It is so sad to see such a talented person throwing all her gifts away.
The devil in Miss Winehouse has won. R.I.P!
Dior has launched a new High Jewelry collection “Le Bal des Roses”.
Reminiscent of the Parisian fashion house’s Haute Couture, the stunning creations pay tribute to Monsieur Dior’s favourite flower, the rose. The collection brings together 12 unique pieces that evoke the image of blossoming women attending a ball in their most beautiful gowns. Sumptuous pieces of jewelry with hidden details and stones set within stones evoking luxurious emboidered fabrics. As you know, I am a huge fan of the Dior’s High Jewelry designer Victoire de Castellane. With those designs, she has outdone herself once more.
Wow!
Enjoy the video at the end of this post for a closer look at those eyecatchers.
