For me as a blogger, it is so interesting to observe the recent forays of many fashion houses into social media, such as this new extraordinary project: On January 16th 2012 at 3pm (CET), Zegna Facebook fans can experience the Z Zegna F/W 2012 men fashion show live through the eyes of fashion icon Anna Dello Russo.
The moodboard on Zegna’s facebook wall
Her arrival, her moments backstage with Z Zegna’s new Creative Director Paul Surridge, and her savvy commentary before, during and after the Z Zegna show will be live streamed by two assistants who will be armed with a special application developed for iPhone. Anna Dello Russo, who will be dressed in a Z Zegna suit specially designed for her, will have a dedicated tab on the Facebook page and fans can see the runway show live streamed “Beyond the Catwalk” experience through the eyes of fashion icon Anna Dello Russo. An exclusive video of the fittings will follow right after fashion week.
This is your chance to experience in real-time the excitement of the fashion show through the eyes of one of the most famous international stylist and fashion blogger, Anna dello Russo once described as ‘a fashion maniac’ by Helmut Newton.

This month, I have had some really nice press coverage that I am truly thankful for. You have already read some of it like my style portrait in Bolero magazine for example or that Blick named me one of the most important bloggers.
Here is what you probably haven’t seen so far: 20 Minuten Friday magazine compared me to Anna dello Russo. Nothing to say against that!
Annabelle magazine took this front row picture during the second night of the Fashion Days Zurich.
20 Minuten called me a fashion hunter and did some wonderful advertising for my stories about the Fashion Days Zurich.
Faces showed this picture in their November issue…
…and Polyvore buzzed about me! Thank you sooo much!

Hitting the shops on November 17th, here is your sneak preview of what is to come for Versace’s upcoming collaboration with H&M.
The looks are very „Versace“, reminiscent of the famous `80s prints, bright, colourful and boy-con. The leather pieces are embellished with a lot of studs. Thanks to Vogue Russia, I can show you some of the pieces. The ad campaign featuring Sasha Pivovarova, Lindsey Wixson and Daphne Groenwald also gives a wonderful insight into the highly anticipated Versace for H&M collection.

Besides Donatella Versace being the first to wear the leather studded dress (for photos click here for the previous post), of course Anna Dello Russo has not to wait until November. She was spotted in the same dress during the beginning of Paris Fashion Week.
Let the madness begin…

Last week in Milan, there was quite a party stress going on.
Across from the Gucci party on Via Montenapoleone, Louis Vuitton celebrated the re-opening of their shop on the famous street, followed by a dinner and later a party with cocktails and music to toast the exhibition “The Art of Fashion” curated by Katie Grand which is on show at La Triennale di Milano until October 9th, 2011.

Gorgeous decoration.
Party people
Lots of celebrities were there.

To celebrate the first year of Spiga2 (Dolce & Gabbana’s the first multi-brand shop), the store was transformed into a huge bedroom. Women were be in bed with the latest collections from the Spiga2 designers.
This season’s must: A pair of sparkling shoes!
Fausto Puglisi with his muse Masha and me in the middle
Dolce & Gabbana’s protégé Fausto Puglisi‘s s vibrant designs are available at Spiga 2 and of course, the Sicilian designer was also present.

Anna dello Russo is a huge fan of Fausto’s designs and couldn’t resist to get her favourite dress in different colours.

This was my look today: Gucci head to toe mixed from different seasons.
Silk Dress (F/W 2011), Feodora Hat (F/W 2011), Fur Stole (F/W 2011), Strappy Sandals (S/S 2011) and Python Bag (S/S 2010) all by Gucci.
And here you see my twin: Giovanni Battaglia in the same dress. Fashion faux-pas? No, not if it is worn by the famous Italian stylist.
By the way, Anna dello Russo was also dressed head to toe in Gucci F/W 2011.
If you are living in Zurich, I recommend a visit to the Gucci store on Poststr., the loveliest service on earth!

Last Saturday, Barneys New York celebrated the launch of their new womens F/W 2011 campaign „Carine’s World“ with a gigantic party in New York City. Many celebrities attended, but the real highlight of the evening was definitely the karaoke performance of Anna Dello Russo and Carine Roitfeld on stage.
The new campaign for the American department store was cast by Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of French Vogue. Friends, family members, people she admired over years for their style, were featured in the newest must-haves. Carine worked alongside renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti and Barneys New York Creative Director Dennis Freedman.
In the store, you can find some installations with quotes that I enjoyed very much. I hope that you do, too!

Naomi Campbell in Fendi
Carine on Naomi:
“I met Naomi 25 years ago at the beginning of her career and worked with her often. She is of course a legendary model and an icon, but one thing that people don’t know about her is that she has a very big heart.”
Shop the Fendi collection at Barneys.com.
Jessica Hart in Marc Jacobs
Carine on Jessica:
“Jessica is the Australian girlfriend of my son Vladimir’s best friend. So pretty, natural, and elegant. She’s got a spontaneous, sporty allure and she’s always smiling.”
Shop the Marc Jacobs collection at Barneys.com.
Melanie Huynh in Yves Saint Laurent
Carine on Melanie:
“Melanie is a stylist and was my assistant for 3 or 4 years. We have stayed close – I am even godmother to her daughter. She is ravishing and brings a lot of grace to the Saint Laurent clothes. She looks like a princess.”
Shop the Yves Saint Laurent collection at Barneys.com.
Izabel Goulart in Mugler and Gianvito Rossi
Carine on Izabel:
“Izabel, a Brazilian, is one of my most recent discoveries. She is a very, very beautiful girl that I first saw at a Victoria’s Secret runway show.”
Shop the Mugler and Gianvito Rossi collection at Barneys.com.
Theodora Richards in Rodarte
Carine on Theodora:
“Theodora has inherited the daring style of her father, Keith Richards, and it suits her divinely. She’s also very spirited and lively and has an incredible presence.”

On Saturday, you were able to watch the Burberry Prorsum Menswear S/S 2012 show live on Sandra’s Closet. Today, I would like to show you whom I saw at the show in Milan and give you a little more insight into the collection.
The lull before the storm.
Anna Dello Russo with Bryan Boy…
…and with me.

Christopher Bailey celebrated craftsmanship and laid the emphasis on the artisan spirit:
“This collection started with our iconic heritage as the foundation, we really wanted to emphasise this feeling of handcrafted pieces, celebrating craftsmanship but always with this playful element. We have taken our icons and played with texture to personalise and give them a real character and charm using colour to highlight the intricate detail that goes into crafting them.”
Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer BURBERRY PRORSUM
There were lots of ikat prints, beautiful raffia trims and wooden paillettes. Those embellishments will make those T-shirts the next summer’s must-haves. The crocheted details and the bobble caps were reminscent of the `70s and the hippie era. I am pretty convinced that those ethnical influences, the maxi bags and the earthy colours will be liked a lot by the stronger sex. Don’t forget, you can order some of the pieces now online until June 27, 2011.

Starting from today, Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, is on view until July 31, 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum’s second-floor Cantor Galleries.
So if you just can’t get enough after having seen Kate Middleton’s bridal dress, that was made by Sarah Burton for the house of McQueen, you might consider a trip to NYC. The designer’s costume institute retrospective features approximately 100 ensembles and 70 accessories from the late designer’s prolific 19-year carreer with some outstanding pieces from the Givenchy Archive in Paris, custom-made items from the closet of Isabella Blow and even his graduate collection at Central St.Martins among others.
To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, the Museum’s Costume Institute Benefit took place Monday night with high-profile guests in high-profile fashion. The Met gala has anyway become over the years the fashion community’s biggest red carpet night. It was no wonder to spot some McQueen tributes to the mix.
My favourite two looks by Alexander McQueen were Gisèle Bündchen who looked so radiant in her red gown next to her husband Tom Brady…
… and Anna Dello Russo, known for her eclectic style, showed up in a pant suit from the S/S 2011 collection, divine!
As for me, the ultimate highlights were the „Stella Girls“ with Stella McCartney herself making an appearance in a black and white tuxedo gown of her own design. It was a modern, probably experimental but uncoventional look. The British designer is also a Co-Chair for the fundraising event.
The Stella McCartney parade was led by Madonna in a silky blue gown with a beautiful embroidered train. With her 50’s hair and make-up, she looked very Hollywood. Wow!
Very pregnant Kate Hudson glowed in her champagne-coloured Stella gown and long tousled hair.
This is my favourite. Gwyneth Paltrow chose to go with long sleeves which was a popular trend at the gala. So simple and absolutely stunning. The actress is good friends with the British designer.
Rihanna in a one-shoulder black lace gown, an iconic Stella look!
Adding some colour drama, Eva Mendes enhanced her complexion by wearing a cobalt blue plissé dress by Stella McCartney. So beautiful!
What a night!
LoL, Sandra
