Dua Lipa x Versace

This week, Donatella Versace presented her butterfly-filled Pre-Fall 2023 collection in Cannes, a collaboration with the pop star Dua Lipa titled «La Vacanza.» First used in Gianni Versace’s S/S 1995 runway collection, the butterfly is a motif which the pop star has worn throughout the years; it also seems to hold a special significance.

Must-have of the collection: Butterfly printed silk-twill shirt

«I love the summer and for me this collection celebrates the very best of that time of year. This is the perfect summer collection—from lying by the pool in a fun printed bikini, to dressing-up to dance on hot summer evenings in the perfect evening dress—these clothes immediately make me think of my holidays and being in the sun. Dua loves Fashion, I love Music—we are the perfect duo! We felt like we were on vacation and that is exactly the spirit we want people to feel when they wear our clothes.» –Donatella Versace

It is Versace’s first see-now-buy-now fashion show on the French Riviera. The fashion show reflects an intimate Salon-style collection presentation, with Iván De Pineda as host to guests sat in the gardens of a French Riviera villa.

The collection is Donatella and Dua’s shared vision of an absolute modern elegance for «La Vacanza,» the Italian for «vacation,» and encompasses the full Versace lifestyle; from perfectly cut tailoring and evening gowns, to bikini and terry cotton beachwear. It is also typical Barbiecore. Think pink power suits, the Barbie bouffant hairdos, and the shiny metallic leathers and crystal embellishments.

The Most Important S/S 2023 Bag Trends

Who doesn’t like to buy a new handbag?! From the rebirth of the oversized shoulder bag to girly-like pink, there’s a spring bag for every aesthetic among the runway collections. The S/S 2023 collections offer a great amount of choices – have fun exploring the new bag trends.

After years of micro bags, designers seem to be gravitating toward more functional full or even oversized silhouettes (think messenger and massive slouchy bags).

If you’re into safety, this is the style for you. Wrapped around your wrist, those bags come in all sizes this season.

Barbie’s signature pink celebrates fantasy and femininity and is an absolute must this summer!

What a better way to unleash your inner party girl than sporting one of those must-have sparkly bags?!

Red leads the way head to toe so don’t forget your matching bag.

Studs, spikes and heavy-duty chains celebrate a new-punk movement.

Mini bags have been all the rage for years now, but finally, a more functional and fashionable bag trend is taking over this spring’s style

In today’s realm of the internet, novelty bags are loved for their eye-catching appearance. Taking the shape of a dool house or an inflatable floating device, this season runways are increasingly seeing various objects.

My Look: Attention

Attention, please! Here comes another Valentino Pink PP look but this time in combination with a great pair of jeans. I love this outfit so much. Hot pink has definitely been the color of 2022, taking inspiration from the ultra-bright world of Barbie and Ken, aptly named the «Barbiecore»trend, which was further amplified by paparazzi photos of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling on the set of Greta Gerwig‘s forthcoming Barbie movie.

My look: Double-breasted wool and cashmere-blend coat, 3D-flower lurex-jacquard wool-blend scarf, tie-neck silk-georgette shirt, VLOGO reversible leather belticon, VLOGO leather-trimmed wool fedoraicon, Roman Stud maxi clutch bag in nappa leather, VLogo signature earrings, and Tan-Go leather ankle boots, all by Valentino, distressed high-rise wide-leg jeans by Peter Do.
