Here is Bottega Veneta‘s S/S 2013 ad campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh on location at Universal Studios in Los Angeles in October 2012. The internationally renowned German photographer and filmmaker has been a hugely influential figure in fashion photography since he first began working for Italian Vogue in the late 1970’s. Known for his narrative sensibility, he has a direct, minimalist approach that captures the individuality of the subject. His images, often in black-and-white, are instantly recognizable for their spontaneity and intimacy.
Bottega Veneta‘s S/S 2013 collection centers on a subtle and complex individuality. A palette of dusty, saturated shades of peach, yellow, blue, red, gray, and plaster is anchored in black and brown. Those butterfly embellished accessories are absolutely on my wish list for summer.
The mood is both tough and sweet, starting with unexpected mixes of materials and prints, mostly florals, and surface embellishments of exceptional quality and varied provenance.
What a beautiful collection inspired by the `40s, Tomas Maier is back in the fore!

A great gift for the coffee table: Bottega Veneta‘s tome, the house’s first ever book with Rizzoli to celebrate the craftsmanship and luxury of the legendary maison.
This beautifully designed and slipcased monograph is the rich result of a collaborative effort between creative director Tomas Maier, designer Sam Shahid, and many of today’s leading fashion journalists. It highlights the brand’s illustrious history that reaches back to a time when it was known primarily for its soft, handcrafted leather handbags. Today, Bottega Veneta is renowned not only for its coveted leather goods but also for a remarkable range of luxury products. Now, as then, the brand stands for the discreet sophistication and refined individuality captured in its famous line, “When your own initials are enough.”
Simultaneously available in English, Italian, French and German, the trade edition is sold in Bottega Veneta and fine book stores worldwide for € 80/CHF 100. There is also a luxury edition slipcased in intrecciato leather, which is sold exclusively in Bottega Veneta boutiques for € 550/CHF 680.
This is the ultimate volume for the true connoisseur of luxury handcraftsmanship, especially if you find pieces from your own closet in the book like I did…

Heidi Klum was spotted this weekend on the streets of Los Angeles in a gorgeous military green jumpsuit (light chino, 100% cotton, 279,00 €) byCLOSED.
She paired her casual look with a comfy pair of sneakers. My favourites at the moment are the Tokyo suede and patent-leather high-top sneakers by Jimmy Choo. Add a pair of metal-frame aviator sunglasses by Gucci and a statement ring, such as the blackened oxidized-silver filigree ring by Bottega Veneta for a fabulous blend of cool and chic.
The perfect look for a mum-on-the-run!

Here is a preview of Bottega Veneta‘s S/S 2012 ad campaign shot by artist and photographer Jack Pierson, featuring model Karmen Pedaru.
ABOUT JACK PIERSON
Jack Pierson is a celebrated contemporary artist known for work that ranges across many media, including photography, collage, drawing, painting, and installations. This diversity makes it difficult to categorize Pierson’s art, though virtually everything he makes evinces a compelling combination of emotional vulnerability and formal sophistication. Pierson’s photographs often read like a diary, combining elements of nostalgia, loneliness, the romantic ideal, and a search for beauty.
The artist, who splits his time between New York and Southern California, has had numerous solo exhibitions and participated in group shows around the world. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Guggenheim in New York, among other prestigious institutions.
“I’ve admired Jack’s work for many years, especially his ability to create images that are at once precise and spontaneous.” Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director Tomas Maier explained in a release “I’m very happy with the result. Jack’s images capture the complexity as well as the joy of the collection.”

My new fashion column for the SI Style magazine is available now. This time, I am telling you about an amazing trip in September to Venice for the birthday party of a very dear friend. The motto “40 years, 40 hours” was to be taken literally. Below you will find some photos of the beginning of the weekend. The host had chartered an aircraft for all his friends so that the party started already on the flight. More photos of the night which felt like a scene from the movie “Eyes Wide Shut”, the hotel and more to be posted soon! It was definitely the best party ever!
My comfy travel outfit: A cozy overall, scarf, bag and wedges (see photos below) by Bottega Veneta, necklace and bangles by Chanel, watch by Roger Dubuis.
