My Look: Tropical Meets Apple Tree

With this warm forecast set for September, we will all spend as much time outdoors as possible. Even though we might not be jetting off to some beautiful tropical island, that doesn’t mean we cannot wear those vibrant holiday prints at home. Tropical patterns have been a huge trend this summer. I think they match perfectly with Swiss apple trees and green meadows, don’t you agree?

My Look: Muse

Happy Monday to all of you! Being in quarantine made me realize once more to be grateful for every day when you wake up healthy, for every moment you can spend with someone you love. In challenging times it’s more than important to focus on positive things, work on your goals and dreams. Take time for yourself to think! Become your own muse, your own motivation, and your source of inspiration. You don’t need anyone else, just yourself. This will also help you to gain confidence and most importantly self-love which will make you shine from the inside.

My Look: Bookworm

I would consider myself a fashionable bookworm. In my house, I have my own little library, filled with all sorts of books. Reading is so much more my thing than watching TV. During quarantine I indulged in so many captivating books – psychological thrillers are my favorite genre. You can find my reading list on my Amazon x Sandra’s Closet book shop. Stay tuned, as I will upload a new section very soon. Don’t forget, fashion can be as imaginative as your favorite stories.

My Look: Dior Love

Dior has some renowned looks that you should consider adding to your wardrobe. The Bar jacket is one of them, an iconic New Look piece, created by Christian Dior in 1947. Reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri for S/S 2020, it is made from Tussah silk with Dior’s iconic textured houndstooth pattern. I love wearing it with the matching corolla skirt, as presented on the runway. So chic, so feminine and so French …

My look: Houndstooth tussah silk double-breasted bar jacket, and matching

Panthère de Cartier Manchette Watch

The forever piece: Watch-making meets fine jewelry in the form of Cartier’s timeless Panthère de Cartier Manchette, a true design treasure.

An investment piece of the highest order, Cartier’s iconic Panthère de Cartier Manchette became a highly sought-after collector’s item the moment it was first unveiled, back in the 1980s. With flowing links reminiscent of a panther slinking through the jungle – hence the name «panthère» – this eye-catching piece fluidly wraps the wrist in white, pink or yellow gold, depending on your preference.

Finished with an artfully off-center dial, eventually adorned with a border of brilliant-cut diamonds, there’s no doubt this timeless timepiece is dazzling – but it also boasts endless wearability. Whether peeking out from beneath a blazer cuff, accentuating the opulence of a silk evening gown, or even elevating a simple white shirt and jeans, consider this high-octane piece an effortless way to add polish to any ensemble. A magnificent addition to any watch collection, take good care of this heirloom piece and it will be cherished for generations to come.

My Look: Peonies

I love peonies, they are my favorite flowers. It is such a pity that their season is very limited, usually May to June. I love their frilly ruffles of petals and it always amazes me how such a beautiful flower can bloom from such a small tight hard bud. To me, they are the most beautiful right before they die. My daughter said something very sweet to me recently: «Mum, if you were a flower, you would definitely be a peony as you get more beautiful with age

Today’s look is inspired by this gem of nature. Burgundy and pink worn together is a colour combination that I personally absolutely adore. When the two hues meet, it’s pure magic.

My look: Katerina merino wool sweatericon and Wade high-rise flared jeans, both by Ulla Johnson, platform patent-leather loafers by Givenchyicon, Aby Lock small printed leather shoulder bag by Chloé, stingray sunglasses by Louis VuittonRoyal Oak 37mm 18-karat frosted rose gold watch by Audemars PiguetJUSTE UN CLOU bracelet in rose gold with diamonds, LOVE bracelet SM in white gold, LOVE bracelet in rose gold with 4 diamonds, and CLASH DE CARTIER bracelet SM in rose gold, all by Cartier, Coco Crush bracelet in yellow gold by CHANEL, gold chunky necklace by DiorRose Céleste necklace in 18k yellow and white gold, diamond, onyx and mother-of-pearl, and Astro Dior aquarius necklace, both by Dior Fine Jewellery.

By the way, in floriography, the language of flowers, peonies represent all the good stuff: good fortune, happy marriage, riches, honour, and compassion and surprisingly, bashfulness. Cheers to that! May we all have a little peony-wisdom in our lives this spring.

Clash de Cartier Debuts New Additions

In a private appointment at CARTIER this week, I had the opportunity to finally discover the new addition to the Clash de Cartier collection, that debuts a white gold series and some limited edition amazonite novelties.

Those beautiful studded and spiky fine jewellery pieces are available now in four designs:
1 Clash de Cartier ring, small model in a rhodium-finish 18K white gold, CHF 2150
2 Clash de Cartier ring, medium model in a rhodium-finish 18K white gold, CHF 3100
3 Clash de Cartier ring, medium model in a non-rhodium finish 18K white gold, CHF 3100
(the non-rhodium finish looks darker and more matte, something that might appeal especially to men and those who like their jewellery to look more fashion-forward)
4 Clash de Cartier bracelet, medium model in a rhodium-finish 18K white gold, CHF 8850

Looking at my arm, I am seriously into stacking goals. Needless to say, I have immediately fallen in love with the new Clash de Cartier white gold bracelet which I think would finish off my collection perfectly. It also looks great in combination with my small Clash de Cartier rose gold bracelet.

Do you like stacking your arm as much as I do?

And their is more. Following the debut release of 18k white gold versions, the brand has also added a line of limited edition amazonite novelties. Take a look at these new beauties. I am madly in love, especially with the ring.

1 Clash de Cartier earring, large model, 18K rose gold, amazonite, CHF 13000
2 Clash de Cartier bracelet, large model, 18K rose gold, amazonite, CHF 53500
3 Clash de Cartier ring, large model, 18K rose gold, amazonite, CHF 11900

My Look: World Dance Day

Today is World Dance Day, a global celebration of dance, that takes place every year on 29 April. Ever since I was a little girl dance has always been my favorite sport.

When house cleaning sucks, especially with no help during quarantine, I love to dress up, put the music on and dance while doing chores. So much more fun and thanks to my new noise-cancelling headphones (for more infos, see yesterday’s post here) nobody gets disturbed.

Let’s face it — It’s more productive to clean the house while singing and dancing to a catchy tune.
