The Empreinte jewellery range was created in 2004 and features the studs from LOUIS VUITTON’s emblematic travel trunks. Now a signature of this precious jewellery family, studs leave their delicate mark around the motif of the Monogram Flower.
Personally speaking, this Vuitton collection is very similar to CARTIER‘s iconic LOVE collection but to be very honest even even that Cartier has a long history with this design from the ’70s and that they were first, I really really like Louis Vuitton’s approach to it.
Left: Vuitton Empreinte Ring – Right: Cartier Love Ring
First, its seems more special as so many people are wearing the LOVE bracelets and second of all, Vuitton’s arm candy can be opened much easier as you don’t need a screwdriver to open it (makes life at the security checks at the airport so much easier).
Nevertheless, both ranges are just beautiful… I hope that one day somebody puts one on my arm…

Presented at SIHH 2018, the new Révélation d’une Panthère watch is a true piece of art and deserves its own post. The iconic Cartier panther is revealed in an instant in a feat of watchmaking magic that conjures the hourglass, an eternal allegory of the passage of time.
Distort time. Disrupt it. Give it a form, trace its outline, and make it appear and disappear at leisure.
At a flick of the wrist, tiny gold beads map a meticulous trajectory across the surface of the dial, gradually revealing a powerful presence.
The magnificent head of a panther emerges, her golden outline illuminating the dial, her stark, stylised motif arresting the gaze. An ephemeral work of art for art’s sake, this timepiece offers the rare spectacle of light, luminous hours which promise their return.
Available in three versions with a choice of a black, green or red dial, the 37mm watch features a pink gold case, a bezel paved with diamonds, and a winding crown set with a diamond, an emerald or a ruby. The two colored versions in green and red are both limited editions of 100 individually numbered pieces each.

During my trip to Cuba with CHANEL, I went on a Hemingway tour, following the footsteps of one of the worlds greatest writers.
My look: Denim top and matching culottes, both by Stella McCartney, Tian slip-on sneakers and Soho mini textured-leather shoulder bag, both by Gucci, sunglasses by Chanel, Portofino Midsize Automatic watch with diamonds and grey alligator bracelet by IWC Schaffhausen and Double C diamond black lacquer white gold ring by Cartier.
First stop was Finca Vigía, the only «real home» the author had in his lifetime. The house is located in a small, modest suburb of Havana named San Francisco de Paula, not too far from the capital city. Today it is a museum. You can only see the rooms from the outside looking inside the windows. It is very impressive to see the place where many masterpieces were written. In the garden there is even a small cemetery where Hemingway had buried his favorite dogs.
Second stop was the charming fishing village Cojímar that was the background for one of Hemingway’s most important works «The Old Man and the Sea» that is based on a real character living in town. The writer came here often by boat and had drinks at the local bar La Terraza. Today, one table with a stunning view from the seaside dining room is still reserved honoring Hemingway. For true literature aficionados, it’s a must see visit.
«But man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated.»
– Ernest Hemingway
Last stop of my Hemingway Cuba tour was El Floridita, a lovely bar in the center of Havana where the writer enjoyed many of the world’s famous daiquiris. Right to the left when you enter, you will find a life-sized bronze statue of Hemingway leaning his elbow on the mahogany countertop remembering their well-known guest.
On my Hemingway tour Cuba I have learned al lot about the writer’s past and his relationship with the Caribbean country and I can only recommend it! I feel blessed to have experienced the country before it will loose its old-world charm.
