Fashion Wants You To Play

In times of quarantine and lockdowns, during holiday season or just for fun, board games  are always a welcome distraction of the day. If you have a fellow fashionista friend, this could be a great gift idea. Board games have been rendered in a variety of shapes and materials by several fashion houses, from luxe crystal-embellishments to sturdy wood. I have gathered some of the most beautifully designed chess sets and game boards that are sure to delight everyone from game novices to Kasparov-level players.

Give Wonder, Give CHANEL

I think all I want for Christmas is CHANEL when I saw the Maison’s latest watches & fine jewelry creations.

Actress and House ambassador Alma Jodorowsky, actor Djebril Zonga, Giedre Dukauskaite, Amar Akway, Mika Schneider and musician Sébastien Telllier wear an exceptional select of Coco Crush, Camélia, Sous le Signe du Lion, J12, Première and Boy-Friend pieces, where beige gold, yellow hold or white gold and diamonds meet.

Give wonder, give CHANEL. Gentlemen, no more excuses. The choice is yours now. You cannot go wrong, promised!

My Look: A Tale of Winter

This was my outfit that I wore to the wonderful evening at the Dolder Grand with Glenmorangie. I am such a big Zimmermann fan. The creations are so feminine and easy to wear. Combined with muted colors or black, the dresses also work their magic during winter time.

My look: Concert embroidered floral linen-blend lawn dressicon by Zimmermann, Kronobotte 85 leather knee boots by Christian Louboutin, Kelly So Black in box leather by Hermès, and clip earrings by CHANEL (Métiers d’Art 2012 Paris – Bombay).

My Look: Lost & Found

Lost & found… after ditching fancy clothes during the lockdown, I cannot get enough of dressing up. Racy, big-cat prints are never out of style – go head-to-toe for the win. The perfect fall colors!

My look: Draped leopard jacquard-knit jacket, and matching leopard jacquard-knit jumpsuit, both by Alaïaicon, Montana 120 stretch-satin thigh bootsicon by Christian Louboutin, «16» bag by Celine, leopard print sunglasses by Dolce & Gabbana, metal glass pearls leather earrings, and leather belt with chain, both by CHANEL.

CHANEL Coco Neige F/W 2021

Dedicated to the mountains, the Coco Neige F/W 2021 collection offers essential winter sports pieces and accessories imbued with the codes of CHANEL. The collection campaign, photographed by Inez & Vinoodh, is embodied by artist and House ambassador JENNIE, reflecting different facets of the CHANEL spirit.

A collection moving between sport and style, designed for unrestrained enjoyment on the slopes.

A pair of sophisticated ski goggles has joined the Coco Neige F/W 2021 collection. Enhanced with three lines of micro-strass and signed with the CHANEL letters on the sides, these goggles come with a black, silver or electric blue mirror lens. For the ultimate touch of femininity, the black or pale grey elastic strap in gathered fabric has a satin-finish.

My Look: Good Girl, Gone Bad

Part of my series of self-shot outfit posts with a timer, please find today the uninhibited good girl gone bad who finds herself in a luscious floral whirlwind in the garden of good and evil. Joking aside, this is what I love about fashion, you can dress up or down and invent yourself every day new. You might wear a floral gown but in the right combination you are half-innocent and half-seductive. The choice is all yours…

My Look: The Tourist

During Paris Fashion Week, I had the chance to visit the L’Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped – a temporary artwork for Paris, that was on view for 16 days from September 18 – October 3, 2021. As I was extremely busy those days, I only went on the last Sunday.

In between shows, I put on this comfy look (my kind of tourist look) and explored this incredible installation. That evening, the light was absolutely magical, showing the Arc de Triomphe wrapped in 25,000 square meters of recyclable polypropylene fabric in silvery blue, and with 3,000 meters of red rope, in all sort of shades.

With my friend, Berlin artist Johanna Keimeyer, who invited me to this beautiful terrace overlooking the Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped.

In 1961, three years after they met in Paris, Christo and Jeanne-Claude began creating works of art in public spaces. In 1962, he made a photomontage of the Arc de Triomphe wrapped, seen from the Avenue Foch and, in 1988, a collage. 60 years later, the project was finally concretized, an homage to the late artists and to the city of Paris.

My look: Two-tone intarsia wool-blend cardiganicon by Balmain, Relax mesh-trimmed tech-jersey leggingsicon, and Relax cropped mesh-trimmed tech-jersey topicon, both by Alaïaleather exaggerated-sole sneakers by Alexander McQueen, Lou mini quilted textured-leather shoulder bagicon by Saint Laurent, and grey pearl necklace with gold and green metal glass charm by CHANEL.

My Look: Vuittamins

Here’s my first dose of Louis Vuitton‘s Vuittamins, photographed in Paris during Fashion Week. For Pre-fall 2021Nicolas Ghesquière created an upbeat and optimistic collection in my favorite color-saturated hues of pink and purple that I couldn’t resist. More to come…

My Look: Vuittamins two-colored sweater, Vuittamins pencil skirt in jacquard Monogram, and Vuittamins utility crossbody bag, all by Louis Vuitton (Pre-fall 2021), lace-up booties with logo buckle, and choker, both by CHANEL (F/W 2021).

Met Gala 2021

The Met Gala is typically held on the first Monday in May, but this year, the event was postponed due to COVID-19 and falls right in the middle of fashion month. As Iris Apfel once said: «When we were small children, we all played dress-up and everybody had a good time, so why stop?». This is how Met Gala is for me, a huge party for everyone who loves to dress up and has never stop to indulge in fashion.

Also referred to as «fashion’s biggest night out,» the Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year, the Costume Institute will host its first two-part exhibition, on the theme of American fashion, during 2021 and 2022. Part one, «In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,» will open in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and will remain on display when «In America: An Anthology of Fashion,» opens on May 5, 2022 in the period rooms of the American Wing. Both shows will run through September 5, 2022.

Below, you will find my personal selection of outfits, that I loved or didn’t like and hope you will enjoy it.

My Look: Santorini Nights

Hello from Santorini where I am on holidays with my daughter right now. The Greek island is one of the most photogenic places you can imagine. The view of the contrasting white houses built on the dark lava cliffs surrounded by the blue sky and deep blue sea is absolutely breathtaking. It has been almost 25 years I was here the last time. Today, the city of Oia is buzzing and has become an absolute hot spot. We are staying at the beautiful Mystique Hotel Santorini, where we took these photos before having dinner at the Lure restaurant, located on top of the hotel.

My look: Baroque-print one-shoulder dresswhite Rodeo pop-print shoulder bag, and black leather double platform sandals, all by Versace, and single earring by CHANEL.
