My Look: Shibori & Macramé

Hello beautiful weather! Time to put on some fun pieces. Do you know what shibori and macramé are? My beautiful and super comfy jumpsuit is printed with a Japanese shibori – inspired pattern.  Shibori (from the verb root «shiboru» – «to wring, squeeze or press») is a Japanese manual tie-dyeing technique, which produces a number of different patterns on fabric. Macramé is a crafting technique that uses knots to create various textiles as seen on my bag and shoes. I love the combination of both beautiful craftsmanships and hope you will like it too!

CHANEL High Jewelry Collection N°5

To celebrate the 100th year of the N°5 perfume’s fame, Patrice Leguéreau, Director of the CHANEL Fine Jewelry Creation Studio, has imagined the «Collection N°5», the first High Jewelry collection ever to be dedicated to a perfume.

A first in the history of High Jewelry, this collection showcases all the facets of a perfume, interpreting the eternal mystery of the N°5 perfume with virtuosity. From the bottle to the sillage, one hundred and twenty-three extraordinary pieces express the different facets of the perfume. With its hundred years of fame, only a perfume as mysterious and iconic as the N°5 perfume could inspire such a majestic High Jewelry collection.

In 1921, the first «perfume for women with the scent of a woman» composed by Ernest Beaux and Gabrielle Chanel made a commotion. With the absolute modernity of the fragrance, the purity of the bottle and the mystery of the name, the N°5 perfume was nothing short of a revolution. In 1932, Mademoiselle shattered the codes of French High Jewelry with her one and only collection in platinum and diamonds. These «Bijoux de Diamants» introduced new ways of wearing and took jewelry into another realm… that of allure. In 2021, Patrice Leguéreau decided to bring these two domains together with the «Collection N°5».

«Gabrielle Chanel approached these two universes with the same visionary values, focusing on audacity and the quest for excellence. I wanted to rediscover that creative gesture with this collection, which has been conceived like a journey through the meanderings of the N°5 perfume’s soul, from the architecture of the bottle to the olfactive explosion of the fragrance

The zenith of this precious collection is the extraordinary 55.55 necklace that expresses all the codes of the fragrance which radiate through an exceptional gemstone crafted in its honour, a 55.55-carat custom-cut diamond.

«This is an unprecedented approach» observes Patrice Leguéreau. «We started with a rough diamond that we had cut, not to make the biggest stone possible, but to obtain a perfect octagonal diamond weighing 55.55 carats

The harmonious shape, in an emerald cut, the symbolic weight of 55.55 carats, the D Flawless quality of this stone and the 18-carat white gold bezel set with 104 round diamonds and 42 baguette diamonds testify to CHANEL’s perfectionism and exceptional levels of creation and technical mastery. The profile of the stopper, the silhouette of the bottle, the fastener shaped like the lucky number, and the cascading of pear-shaped diamonds in different sizes, cut one by one, mould this piece into an ultimate tribute to the perfume.

Figurative as much as it is abstract, the 55.55 necklace goes further than an exercise in style. It symbolizes the embrace between the spirit of the N°5 perfume and the most exceptional jewelry making. With an incomparable suppleness, this fascinating and eternal item of jewelry adds its own stone to the story of CHANEL’s first perfume, which has become a myth.

But the tale does not stop here because CHANEL has chosen to keep the necklace 55.55 in its Patrimoine. Thus, this extraordinary piece will forever be a part of the history of CHANEL’s High Jewelry and the symbol of the unbreakable ties that unite place Vendôme with the N°5 perfume.

Stunning, beautiful – an iconic piece that has already made history.

My Look: The Diana Tuck

A trend borrowed from Lady Di’s iconic off-duty style, pants tucked into knee-high boots, has already made the leap from the runway to the streets, and is sported today also on my legs. It gives your outfit such a cool and relaxed take on luxury. It is my styling trick if the pants are too long…

My look: Vichy embellished houndstooth tweed bomber jacketicon, and matching Vichy embellished houndstooth tweed tapered pantsicon, both by Alessandra Rich, intarsia wool-blend turtleneck sweatericon by Dolce & Gabbanagrosgrain-trimmed wool-blend felt cap and grooved cabochon clip earringsicon, both by Saint Laurenticon, camellia brooch by CHANELblack suede knee boots by The Attico, and Cassette chain-embellished padded intrecciato suede shoulder bag in dark brown by Bottega Veneta.

My Look: Winter Layers Love

Stay fashionable in the cooler winter temperatures by layering sweaters, tops and cardigans – all in style of course! A good rule of thumb is to start off with all three layers on, then as you start to feel a little too warm, shed a layer. Great news is that you can wear the pieces alone all year long. The trick is to pair them together smartly – think stylish, not bulky and put the thickest piece as the last one. Personally speaking, nothing keeps me as warm as a great mixture of layers.

My look: Colorful long cardicoat (Coco Neige 2020), black top with cross design (F/W 2020 Look 13), stirrup wool pants (Pre-fall 2020 Métiers d’Art «Paris-31 rue Cambon» Look 9), multicolored stone and pearl necklace (Pre-fall 2019 Métiers d’Art «Paris – New York»), velvet clutch with colorful stone embellishments (F/W 2020 Look 52), hair clip with pearls and vintage square plexiglass ring, all by CHANELruffle-trimmed lace and ribbed-knit sweater by Valentinoblack fur snow boots by Prada Linea Rossa, and pearl embellished cat eye sunglasses by Dolce & Gabbana.

My Look: Pink Is My Color

Truth is, I love everything pink. It is such a powerful color. Pink comprises pop culture and fashion, playfulness and girlhood. It can be innocent and not so innocent, luxurious and tacky. This weekend, I am feeling like floating on a pink cloud because it is my birthday. Therefore I have prepared this post as I will indulge in my special day and take some time off.

My look: La Veste Esterel jacket, matching Valerie cutout woven midi skirticon, Le Haut Pampelonne bralette, and Riviera frayed cotton pumpsicon, all by Jacquemus, small flap bag with top handle by CHANEL, Horsebit blue topaz diamond white gold ringicon by Gucci Fine Jewellery, and Pasha C chronograph in steel (2000) by Cartier.

My Look: Bridgerton

Binged Bridgerton yet? The ostentatious period drama set in the Regency Era has me looking through my closet and the fashions of the time. Here is today’s outfit inspired by my new favorite Netflix series shot in my room at the Gstaad Palace hotel.

My Look: The Fog

Around Lake Zurich, it can get very foggy, especially during fall. Not being able to to see the sun after several days can really bring down one’s mood. However the beauty about Switzerland is, that if there is fog around the lake, you can almost always find the sun and blue skies above in the mountains. I spent the last two days in Zurich and when driving up today to Gstaad again, the sun was shining and it made me realize how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place.

My outfit definitely works on all occasions, sunny or foggy weather. I am absolutely loving it. It is playful, yet conservative, eye-catching, yet muted in colors.

My look: Sheep fur coat by Saint Laurent, houndstooth wool pinafore dressicon by Miu Miu, roll-neck jersey sweatericon by Dolce & Gabbana, Cassette chain-embellished padded intrecciato suede shoulder bag in dark brown by Bottega Venetapearl crystal birdcage pin brooch by CHANEL, D-Dream leather beret, and Dior Empreinte heeled boots, both by Dior.

CHANEL Cruise 2022

CHANEL will present its Cruise 2022 collection with a show that will take place on Tuesday, May 4th 2021 at the Carrières de Lumières, located in the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, in the south of France.

A photo I took inside the Carrières de Lumières.

These white limestone quarries were notably used as the backdrop for the 1959 film Le Testament d’Orphée (Testament of Orpheus), directed by Jean Cocteau, who was friends with Gabrielle Chanel. The Cruise collection has been anchored in the history of the House of CHANEL since the early 1920s, when Gabrielle Chanel first offered her clients lightweight and comfortable designs for various sunny destinations including the Riviera and the beaches of the Lido in Venice.

Scenes from Le Testament d’Orphée

Personally speaking, I adore the Carrières de Lumières and have been there many times, especially because it is located just a few minutes from one of my favorite restaurants in the world, L’Oustau de Baumanière, a three Michelin stars restaurant, known for their amazing ingredients from their organic vegetable gardens and produce from local farmers. I always choose the vegetable surprise menu, which is to die for. Hopefully we can enjoy the show in person in May and the lockdown will finally be over…
