CHANEL Pétales de Camélia

Mademoiselle Chanel’s favourite flower, the camellia, lends itself to every style. Also known as the «Japanese rose», the beautiful flower is mostly found in Asian countries and symbolises long-lasting devotion and became an element of her style in 1913. Its geometric curves encourage endless creativity; its perfect roundness expresses pure femininity. More than a flower, the camellia is an inspiration.

Coco Chanel liked the simplicity of the bloom that has no thorns or fragrance, which means that that it would never clash with her iconic No. 5 fragrance. Furthermore, she loved the shape of the flowers and its white color that stood out against her famous little black dresses. Word has it that she developed the fondness the moment she was presented with a bouquet by her lover, Boy Capel.

I am so in love with my CHANEL Pétales de Camélia ring.

The yellow gold collection, CHANEL Pétales de Camélia, inspired by the designer’s favorite flower was launched last year and I truly love every single piece. Perfect as an everyday jewelry choice, the Camélia collection remains inextricably linked to CHANEL’s spirited personality and creative diversity.

My Look: I Belong to The Hot Pants Club

Gosh, how much I enjoy those hot and sunny temperatures. I am such a summer girl – wearing hot pants and a great top is always easy, comfy and fun. In case you’re wondering, where the term «hot pants» is coming from, here is a quick explanation. No, they aren’t called «hot pants» just because women look «hot» in them. Which we most certainly do, of course!

The name is aligned with a movement of women who broke out of the accepted forms of women’s dress embracing all their curves for the first time in the ’50s and rose to new heights in the ’70s. It was hot shocking hot news at that time! And still today, the style proves its place as one of the most diverse and controversial fashion trends.

In order to avoid crossing the fine line between fashion and faux pas when putting on those short shorts, consider the occasion well you are wearing them to! Having fun on the playground in my garden is definitely one that is suitable. Just saying….

My look: Udalia fringed paneled Lyocell and cotton-blend vesticon, Eneida frayed denim shortsicon, and shell and beaded bracelet, all by Isabel Marant, Go Logo Rider 35 leather ankle boots by Valentino, Audrey wayfarer sunglasses by Célineicon, Nina striped leather toteicon and matching Nina striped crocheted cashmere tote cover, both by Gabriela Hearst, J’adior bracelet set in black and white Dior Oblique cotton by Dior, chain necklace with heart charm by CHANEL, and Pasha C chronograph in steel (2000) by Cartier.

In order not to miss out, don’t forget that you can order those beautiful Gabriela Hearst totes only until July 13, 2020 HEREicon. 10% of the profits from the sale of the bags will go to The Save the Children Fund.

My Look: Dior Love

Dior has some renowned looks that you should consider adding to your wardrobe. The Bar jacket is one of them, an iconic New Look piece, created by Christian Dior in 1947. Reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri for S/S 2020, it is made from Tussah silk with Dior’s iconic textured houndstooth pattern. I love wearing it with the matching corolla skirt, as presented on the runway. So chic, so feminine and so French …

My look: Houndstooth tussah silk double-breasted bar jacket, and matching
Houndstooth jacquard midi skirt, and rope belt, all by Diortweed cap by CHANEL, Kate 100 suede pumpsicon by Christian Louboutin, and Himalaya Niloticus crocodile Birkin bag by Hermès, Love bracelets and Panthère de Cartier Manchette 22mm 18-karat rose gold and diamond watchicon, all by Cartier.

My Look: Heels Over Pants

I love the new Bottega, so many cool pieces that can elevate your looks to new heights. My favorite barely there sandals that wrap around the ankles have already reached cult status. I love this clever styling trick (see trouser tuck) which means no more tailoring needed. For more sandals like those, visit the previous post here.

My Look: Escape the Night

As promised here comes the second outfit from my fiancé’s 36th birthday bash at La Réserve Eden au Lac last Saturday. I quickly had changed right before the birthday cake arrived and we indulged in a glass of Louis XIII. Afterwards we moved up to La Muña that had transformed into a night club. If you ask yourself, why did I change? I love dancing and that works best in something comfy yet stylish. Therefore I went for this fun leopard-print stretch-jersey jumpsuit.

My look: Off-the-shoulder leopard-print stretch-jersey jumpsuiticon by Halpern, Bianca leather sandals by Saint Laurent, Devotion mini leather bag by Dolce & Gabbana, leather and suede waist belt by Balmain, and logo earrings by CHANEL.

We truly escaped the night last week, the party went on until 8 am…

CHANEL Cruise 2021

Yesterday, CHANEL presented its Cruise 2021 collection «Balade en Méditerranée» (A trip around the Mediterranean) on Instagram instead of the island of Capri.

«Initially I had Capri in mind, where the show was supposed to take place, but didn’t happen in the end because of lockdown,» says Virginie Viard, «So we had to adapt: not only did we decide to use fabrics that we already had, but the collection, more generally, evolved towards a trip around the Mediterranean… The islands, the scent of the eucalyptus, the pink shades of the bougainvillea

And a free, laid-back allure inspired by the legendary actresses of the 1960s when they would holiday on the Italian and the French Riviera.

This collection was conceived to travel light with «a wardrobe that can be carried in a little suitcase on wheels, a shopper and an embroidered handbag», a few easy to wear, multipurpose items of clothing that all go together perfectly, and can even be transformed: long skirts become strapless dresses when pulled up, long jackets in black chiffon can be worn by day over a triangle bikini, or by night with an embroidered bandeau top and jeans, «and if worn over bare skin, it becomes a déshabillé

The dresses in fine transparent lamé are coupled with jackets that can be untied and slipped over a pair of crêpe shorts, while wraparound dresses and skirts liberate movement. Bougainvillea pink illuminates suits in leather as supple as a second skin, and in tweed that’s been left unlined for more fluidity. A collection of refined simplicity, to be discovered on chanel.com.

Despite the upheaval triggered by COVID-19, Bruno Pavlovsky, President of fashion at CHANEL, says the house is sticking with its strategy and will continue to show Cruise collections.

My Look: Love CHANEL

I love CHANEL. Since I was a teenager, I have been crazy for the French Maison with its extremely eye-caring and sophisticated logo. CHANEL, one of the most luxurious and influential fashion brands, is with no doubt timeless. For my 18th birthday I got a CHANEL ensemble that I still wear and adore. It was Karl Lagerfeld expanding on the prestige and history of Coco’s achievements that made women around the globe crave for a piece of CHANEL. Now, with Virginie Viard at the helmet, the beautiful story continues… here you see me wearing some of my favorite Cruise 2020 pieces.

My look: Tweed jacket in lilac, light blue cotton top with bow, embellished leggings, brooch,  multicolored shopper, classic violet flap bag, chain belt, all by CHANEL (Cruise 2020), Venus satin pumps, bothicon by The Attico and Croco Tail sunglasses by Fendi, bracelets and heart necklace with diamond pavé in yellow gold by Cartier, Rose Céleste necklace in 18k yellow and white gold, diamond, onyx and mother-of-pearl, and Astro Dior aquarius necklace, both by Dior Fine Jewellery.

My Look: Pretty Preppy

Since yesterday, the restaurants and shops are open again in Switzerland – however, under certain restrictions, as the next stage of the country’s gradual reopening of society. I took the opportunity to dress up and see my girlfriends for lunch which was lovely. Nevertheless, being in the city doesn’t feel the same yet and shopping is more of a frustrating nightmare as you are not really allowed to touch or try anything. I will stay with online shopping for a while, that’s for sure!

My look: Satin-lapel single-breasted wool-blend coaticon and daisy fur and crystal-embellished necklaceicon, both by Dolce & Gabbana, printed satin shirt iconby Versace, FF-jacquard pleated cotton-blend jersey midi skirticonFF logo wool-blend headband, and logo-print mesh and rubber sock knee boots, all by Fendi, dark blue 2.55 bag in velvet by CHANEL.
