My Look: Balmain 44 François Premier

This year Olivier Rousteing launched a new BALMAIN eveningwear collection, called 44 François Premier, named after the Paris address of Pierre Balmain’s original atelier. It pays homage to couture and the house itself. The label is white and bigger than the usual Balmain tag. The gowns are delivered in a beautiful white box. Here you see me wearing one with a beautiful train from the F/W 2018 capsule collection for the ASW Winter Weekend charity gala dinner in Gstaad Mid December. The report will follow shortly.

My look: Off-the-shoulder button-embellished grain de poudre wool gown by Balmainleather platform pumps by Gucci, vintage eagle clutch and matching earrings, both by Chanel. Rose diamond ring by Piaget.

My Look: Hola Madrid!

Greetings from Madrid where I spent the most amazing weekend one week ago! On Saturday the sun was shining and we went on an interesting sightseeing tour through the city visiting the Royal Palace, the Museo del Prado and all the must-see places of the Spanish capital.

My look: Shearling and leather coaticon by Balmain, kickback trousers by Alexander McQueencream white wool sweater by Givenchy, Susanna leather ankle boots by Chloéicon, fringed checked cashmere scarf by Burberry Prorsum, Linda sunglasses by Tom Ford, necklaces and quilted lambskin mini 2.55 vintage classic flap bag, both by Chanel.

You have heard it a gazillion times from me, but I would like to emphasize it again. If you have enough space to store your pieces, keep them, there will always be a time again. Speaking about my mini 2.55 vintage flap bag by Chanel for example, this size was discontinued. I got mine from my parents when I turned 18 (Thank you for always spoiling me!). The bag is still sold on the internet in pre-owned conditions and in very high demand. Some consignment stores will even put you on a long waiting list.

The name of the 2.55 classic flap bag refers to February 1955; the month and year in which the style was introduced. This mini one is made from lambskin and has a single flap with a double C turnstile lock. A single chain strap can be worn either on your shoulder or in cross body. Talking about vintage… it looks like it just has hit the shelves.

CHANEL Spring 2019 Sunglasses

Fashionistas, attention please! CHANEL’s new Spring 2019 sunglasses will hit the stores this month and some of them will surely fly off the shelves. So better reserve your favorites now.

But what makes them stand out? It is the chain, an iconic signature at CHANEL. As an underlying theme of the season, it punctuates the frames for a multitude of possible styles and ways of being worn. A jewellery chain, ultra-feminine, an implicit fashion statement and a resolutely CHANEL allure… and moreover very practical!

Available in three solar frames (the same goes for the optical versions) – round, square and pantos (a combination of round and oval) – they are adorned with a metal link chain reminiscent of those that the seamstresses slip into the linings of jackets to ensure an impeccable drop. I have always loved this detail at CHANEL.

On certain versions, which will be the bestsellers, they come as a trio of chains: metal links, woven with leather and beaded. They reinterpret the idea of both an item of jewellery and an accessory, focusing on versatility to accentuate their fashionable design. Attached to the temples with a discreet link, they become a necklace when the glasses are not being worn on the face.

Then there are the Cruise 2019 show pieces. Sporting maritime influence, I love to get such a bold pair of sunglasses: as round as boat portholes, they play with pop block colour. Their intensely blue lenses really show the world… in blue.

Karl and Suzy have already been wearing them… and probably you soon, too.

One week ago, the 14th Zurich Film Festival opened with the European premiere of director Peter Farrelly’s drama GREEN BOOK, that for the first time in the festival’s history led to standing ovations. CHANEL Sous Le Signe Du Lion

As Gabrielle Chanel’s astrological sign and the emblem of her favourite city, Venice, the lion is part of her symbolic language. It’s one of her sources of inspiration and she would use it in her creations, to embellish the buttons of her suits or the clasps of her handbags.

Since 2013 the lion, reinterpreted by the Jewelry Studio of Creation, has given rise to 3 majestic high jewelry collections.

In 2018, the SOUS LE SIGNE DU LION jewelry collection opens a new chapter and presents 8 pieces inspired by the lion of Venice. The lapis blue and astral white medallions refer to the lion in St Mark’s Square and the sculptural lion, in yellow gold and rock crystal, evokes a Venetian baroque style.

Really really beautiful…

My Look: Gingham

This summer, gingham has re-emerged and is having a big moment. It’s appearing everywhere ― on runways, red carpets and Instagram. Jonathan Anderson played with the idea of sculptural shapes for Loewe’s S/S 2018 runway and  this midi dress, which is one of my summer favorites, has a cutout waist and feminine gingham poplin panels that really stand out against the contrasting twill. By the way, you can also unbutton the dramatic ruffled shoulders for a simpler look which I haven’t done so far as I like the drama…

My look: Convertible cutout twill and gingham poplin dressicon, and Barcelona gingham mini bag, both by LoeweiconAgon embellished platform pumpsicon by Gucci and Eiffel tower pearl earrings by Chanel.
