For S/S 2015, soft and pastel, long tutu tulle skirts and dresses were gracing the runways, reminiscent of the lightness of a ballerina (in the collage above from left to right: Valentino – Giorgio Armani – Vionnet). They same trend can be seen for makeup. Dear beauty lovers! It is this time of the year when I am looking for the best eye makeup palettes as most beauty brands are launching amazing limited edition products for the holiday season. In winter time, eyes should sparkle and shine in deep hues. I have always been a huge fan of smokey eyes and for this post I tried many palettes to present you my favorites. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it…:-). Here we go!

This was the outfit I wore to the launch event of The No Animal Brand at Jelmoli in Zurich. Shearling has been a huge trend this F/W 2014 season and Prada’s colorful designs are the best way to sport the fuzzy style. Oversized and extremely comfortable, Mrs Prada delivered sheepskin jackets in psychedelic seventies colours, that brighten up every grey winter day.

My look: Shearling jacket by Prada, leather biker vest, lips print blouse with open back,  red skinny stretch-leather pants and red ankle boots, all by Saint Laurent, shearling bag by Chanel, red lace bra by Victoria’s Secret, earrings by Dior and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

Here you see an outfit post combining different F/W 2014 trends. Feathers have been everywhere this winter season, they are the perfect way to give your dressing a voluminous effect. Maybe every season polka dots are considered a trend, but they are definitely one of the must-haves for the upcoming S/S 2015 season. So Valentino’s overly cute and stylish version is a great investment to be carried into the next summer. Wear it well!

Finally we have some breaking fashion news again: John Galliano joins Maison Martin Margiela. The designer, who is regarded as one of contemporary fashion’s most outstanding talents, has been absent from the catwalks after he was fired from Dior in 2011 for allegedly making anti-Semitic remarks and assault (for the previous post, please click here).

Diesel’s jeans genius Renzo Rosso, whose group OTB controls Margiela via a subsidiary called Neuf, said to WWD: “Margiela is ready for a new charismatic creative soul. John Galliano is one of the greatest, undisputed talents of all time — a unique, exceptional couturier for a maison that always challenged and innovated the world of fashion. I look forward to his return to create that fashion dream that only he can create, and wish him to here find his new home.”

John Galliano is said to take over the design leadership of all Margiela lines, including couture and the women’s and men’s ready-to-wear collections. His first designs for his new home are expected to be seen in January during Paris Couture Week. Martin Margiela retired in 2009 and an anonymous team continued his legacy. Even that Galliano doesn’t seem the most obvious choice, I think that he is absolutely capable to revolutionize the brand again.

People have short memories, especially if Galliano delivers a desirable collection. Isn’t it easier to forgive than forget?! Let’s give Galliano a new lease on life… everyone deserves that!

Yes, I still can get very excited about press announcements and this one really made my heart leap with joy as I am a huge nail polish aficionado.

This month, the 10th Zurich Film Festival will take place and Dior is launching two limited edition nail lacquers to celebrate this occasion. The two shades 228 Reflects (golden sparkles that also look beautiful over any other nail color) and 808 Night Shock (a metallic shiny black) will be available from September 10, 2014 at Globus Zürich, Globus Glatt and at the ZFF Festival Center at Sechseläutenplatz for CHF 37.00 each.

My international readers might recognize the nail polishes as they were part of Dior’s first pre-fall collection ‘Dior Colour Icons’. Unfortunately the beautiful red shade 888 Tout Paris won’t be available in Switzerland. But let’s be happy we can get our hands at those two exclusive ones! I just love that kind of stuff!

After my summer holidays in Ibiza, I came back completely chilled and relaxed. But as usual you have to run some errands due to an empty fridge. Here you see me at Sihlcity in Zurich.
