One thing you should not have missed when visiting Gstaad, is the outdoor sculpture MIRAGE GSTAAD. Until this month, the mirror house designed by Los Angeles-based artist Doug Aitken stands on the hiking trail between Schönried and Gstaad and can only be reached on foot.

With every available surface clad in mirror, it both absorbs and reflects the landscape around in such ways that the exterior will seemingly disappear just as the interior draws the viewer into a never-ending kaleidoscope of light and reflection. With the help of my tripod, I shot this outfit post by myself – a comfortable look that is perfect for hiking around Gstaad.

Stay fashionable in the cooler winter temperatures by layering sweaters, tops and cardigans – all in style of course! A good rule of thumb is to start off with all three layers on, then as you start to feel a little too warm, shed a layer. Great news is that you can wear the pieces alone all year long. The trick is to pair them together smartly – think stylish, not bulky and put the thickest piece as the last one. Personally speaking, nothing keeps me as warm as a great mixture of layers.

Around Lake Zurich, it can get very foggy, especially during fall. Not being able to to see the sun after several days can really bring down one’s mood. However the beauty about Switzerland is, that if there is fog around the lake, you can almost always find the sun and blue skies above in the mountains. I spent the last two days in Zurich and when driving up today to Gstaad again, the sun was shining and it made me realize how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place.

My outfit definitely works on all occasions, sunny or foggy weather. I am absolutely loving it. It is playful, yet conservative, eye-catching, yet muted in colors.

Here is the outfit I wore for my Gstaad experience last week. Cozy and warm, yet stylish, waterproof and protective, wearing a great ski suit makes you look awesome on the slopes and is also perfect for all other activities in the mountains.

Great news is that this ski suit is equipped with the RECCO® system. Since its launch in the 80’s, this rescue system has become the standard bearer in avalanche search and rescue technology. It’s always on and ready to go with no batteries that might run out and lasts a lifetime. Red: it signifies power, boldness, and confidence. Whether you’re choosing lipstick or clothing, you will definitely make a statement. The vibrant hue represents all things emphatic – stop signs, fire trucks, London’s telephone booths, Ferraris, Louboutin’s shoe sole, good luck (in Chinese culture) and of course fierce love! Personally speaking, it is my number one choice for holiday attire.

It has been asserted that it also acts subconsciously how you are perceived. Chris de Burgh‘s famous hit Lady in Red was inspired by the memory of when he first saw his wife Diane wearing a red dress. See, the red dress can even get you a famous husband, haha!

Scientists speak of the red dress effect, a putative phenomenon in which a woman wearing a red dress, are perceived to be more sexually appealing than she is when wearing other colours. In primates, a visual indicator of female fertility occurs by way of swelling during the follicular phase and is correlated with increased estrogen levels. Here we have proof that men tend to act like primates, haha! Sorry I had to do it again…

A completely different kind of year. 2020 will be seared in all our memories. It’s been a year that has fundamentally changed the world. Long established certainties about what we think is safe and what we believe is healthy in all areas of our lives have been challenged.

I would have never thought that when we shot these photos, this would be my only Christmas post and that I would be diagnosed just a little later with COVID-19. Spending the festive days all by myself in isolation is what I would call bad timing. However, I am extremely grateful that I have not spread the virus and that I have not been showing severe symptoms.

I am moving houses at the moment. The only problem is that the new house is not ready yet and completely under construction. It is a fact, there is no way you can live there.
