Kilian Le Rouge Parfum Scented Lipsticks

Discover KILIAN’s first lipstick line. Le Rouge Parfum is a wardrobe of iconic scented lipsticks, all available in matte and satin finishes. The line consists of the 6 original red shades and 10 new hues in red, pink and berry colors. Kilian Hennessy explains his inspiration in this little interview below. The photos were taken by Ellen von Unwerth.

What were your objectives for Le Rouge Parfum?
To create a collection that allows women to find their perfect red in gorgeous, scented lip colors—for lips that make a woman feel daring and elegant at the same time.

Why launch a range of lip color as KILIAN’s first foray into makeup?
My goal has always been to offer women beautiful weapons of seduction and strong shields of protection at once. Red lips are iconic and express a timelessness and sophistication that is a KILIAN aesthetic signature.

And why did you start with a collection of only reds?
Red lips are just so powerful! They are also one of the most universal weapons of seduction in all cultures.

How is Le Rouge Parfum lip color collection in sync with KILIAN’s values and heritage?
Le Rouge Parfum is the next logical step in my ambition to make perfume visible. The senses of smell and taste are intimately linked so, in a way, the scented lipsticks also make this connection visible.

What cultural references represent for you «the perfect red lip»?
One that immediately comes to my mind is the movie poster of Stanley Kubrick’s interpretation of Vladimir Nabokov’s book, Lolita. Sue Lyon as Lolita sucking on a lollipop with her heart-shaped glasses… irresistible!

How do you want women to feel wearing Le Rouge Parfum?
In full possession of their seductive powers yet protected at the same time. A woman with the right red is invincible!

In Switzerland available for CHF 65.00 each at all Kilian counters and at Globus online.

Galerie Gmurzynska On Fire

«An important part of my life designing installations, spaces and experiences is actually spent putting out fires! I thought it was time to celebrate that fire…and help put the Art World on fire too! So I chose to show only burnt art and art relating to fire from the fantastic Gmurzynska collection, and create for these an environment that is pop and thematic, inspired by the beautiful look of fire stations, as a boy dreaming of them, pop and joyful, yet modern, minimal and fairly neutral, to enhance the viewing of such important art. It is made of traditional industrial materials, lacquered diamond steel plates and fire extinguishers, but reinterpreted to serve their new purpose in a luxurious manner.» Alexandre de Betak

Having presented a Karl Lagerfeld designed booth in 2011 at FIAC, Galerie Gmurzynska – the leading international art gallery specializing in masterpieces of both classic modern and post-war art – is returning to the fair with a visionary installation by French designer, scenographer and creative director Alexandre de Betak, who is mostly known for his involvement in the production of Victoria’s Secret shows, which he has producing and choreographing for many years.

2003 marked de Betak’s debut in design, when he created an acrylic glass bookshelf and a leather bench with French design house Domeau & Perez. Moreover, he is known for various collaborations with important museums, among others the MOCA in Los Angeles and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Since its discovery, fire has been the propelling force of innovation, civilization and ultimately cultural advancement. Artists throughout the history of art have been drawn to its ethereal power to destroy, create, cleanse and illuminate.

Roberto Matta, Les Fumoïsses, 1973

The survey exhibition «On Fire» will include a diverse list of artists using or depicting fire in all forms throughout the 20th Century, from Joan Miró to Otto Piene, Yves Klein, Alberto Burri, Roberto Matta up to Tom Wesselmann and others. A booklet with an introduction by Germano Celant will be accompanying the exhibition.

On Wednesday evening, the opening party of the gallery took place next to the Seine with a huge fire installation by Alexandre de Betak. The gallery owners Isabelle Bscher, Krystyna Gmurzynska and Mathias Rastorfer and star designer Alexandre de Betak welcomed actor Vincent Cassel, not only since his role as Vincent van Gogh in «Loving Vincent», an art fanatic, Parisian model and author Caroline de Maigret, star photographer Ellen von Unwerth, hotel guru André Balazs and actor and artist André Saraiva, the u.a. also designed for Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Tiffany and Converse, the Italian concept artist and filmmaker («Multimedia Popartist»), Francesco Vezzoli and Michel Gaubert, the best sound designer in the fashion world with clients such as Gucci, Fendi, Jil Sander, Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and Chanel.

Party Flowerbomb Viktor&Rolf
Happy Birthday Flowerbomb – what a great «flowerbombastic» party! The house of Viktor&Rolf celebrated the 10th year anniversary of their iconic scent at Le Trianon in Paris in the beginning of July with a very special evening. The rooms were literally filled with thousands of flowers. Highlight of the night were the outstanding performances by Tori Amos and Charli XCX.

Enjoy all my pictures and stay tuned for the amazing interview I did with the designer duo.

At Anna Dello Russo’s Paradise Ball

Paradise Ball

Thursday night, during Paris fashion week, an extravagant party launched the AdR at H&M collection with theatrical flair. Hosted by H&M together with fashion icon Anna Dello Russo, the Paradise Ball took place in Paris famed cabaret nightclub Paradis Latin.

ADR Party

The glitzy party married fashion, performance and a live showcase by music star Azealia Banks. Staying true to AdR’s belief that fashion is something that makes you dream, the eccentric party was all about fantasy and decoration.
Excess for me means success”, said the fashion icon.

Anna Wintour Shares Her Vogue Story

Vogue Sep2012

Honouring the 120th anniversary of Vogue, Anna Wintour took a trip down memory lane and shared her Vogue story. While working on this September’s cover (which will be the biggest one ever, be prepared to weight-lift) of a Marc Jacobs–clad Lady Gaga made her think about her first one as the editor of Vogue in November 1988 which starred the Israeli model Michaela Bercu, photographed by Peter Lindbergh and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.

As the model couldn’t fit in the skirt, she had to wear jeans which made their first ever appearance on the cover of Vogue, and thus fashion history was made.

Vogue6

“Michaela was wearing a Christian Lacroix jacket with a beaded cross and stonewashed Guess jeans. The jacket was part of a suit, but the skirt didn’t fit Michaela; she had been back home and had gained a little weight. Not that that mattered. In fact, it only reinforced the idea: Take couture’s haughty grandeur, playfully throw it headlong into real life, and see what happens. What none of us expected was to run that picture on the cover, least of all the magazine’s printers, who asked if there’d been some mistake. It was so unlike the elegant close-ups typical of Vogue’s covers back then. This one broke all the rules. It looked easy, casual, like a moment snapped on the street, which was the whole point. Afterwards, people applied all sorts of interpretations: It was about mixing high and low, Michaela was pregnant, it was a religious statement. None of that was true. I had just looked at that picture and sensed the winds of change. And you can’t ask for more from a cover image than that.” – Anna Wintour

She also shared some of her favourite images from Vogue:

Claudia by Vogue

The recent edition of German Vogue is dedicated to womanhood. A good reason to show topmodel Claudia Schiffer during her last days of her third pregnancy. The beautiful blonde was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld and nine other famous photographers.

Moreover she is talking about her style favourites and beauty secrets. That she is a real “profashional” prove the paparazzi photos of her in London during her pregnancy. Always trendy and never without her Balenciaga patchwork bag.
