During a dinner conversation last weekend, a friend of mine asked me for advice to find a great pair of winter shoes that is suitable for bad weather conditions.
Here is a selection of footwear designed with a gripped rubber sole for maximum traction, even in wet or icy conditions. Constructed with a sturdy block heel or a wedge, they are ideal for day-long wear or a winter’s night out. Now it’s the time to stock up on some sturdy and stylish footwear for the new season. Have fun!

Durable, up-to-date and irresistibly stylish, new season denim gives a nod to the past and a sharp look into the future. High waisted or ripped and ragged like Saint Laurent or all patched up like Dsquared, pair your picks with Lucchese boots and a Pucci belt or a fringed leather bag by Antik Batik and a Michael Kors watch for just the right mix of uptown charm and new season western-style allure.

There are some press releases that get me overly excited. This is one. Shu Uemura ‘Art of Hair’ launches a new product so-called TEXTURE WAVE, a dry workable spray for buildable grip, fuller touch and moveable texture.
The wave effect was key on the runway for S/S 2014, comprising lightly airspun texture right through to sensual, volumised curls. Texture Wave is the perfect product for recreating these styles with a no-shine finish.
CHF 45.00 (250ml)
The new styling innovation is insipred by one of the most famous Japanese works of art – the Great Wave of Kanagawa. It dates back to the 1830’s as the first print in Katsushika Hokusai’s series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. Caught in movement, the wave composition is dynamically extending, about to break.
In the mood for volumised, sensual curls? Why not try a look called WINDY WAVES (see cover photo)?
Step 1: Form curls using a wide-barrel curling iron, working sections in interchanging directions, inwards and outwards.
Step 2: Loosen curls with fingers and apply Texture Wave while tousling layers. Hair is left with texture and shape, but still free to move, like the waves it is inspired by.
To create on-trend, TOUSLED WAVES on shorter hair, begin by lifting sections and spraying Texture Wave through the roots, lengths and ends. Ruffle and scrunch with fingers to achieve un-done movement.
Create an effortless DISHEVELLED PONY by following these few simple steps:
1. Section the front of the hair by parting down the middle. Lift hair at the back and apply Texture Wave whilst tousling.
2. Gather the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, spraying Texture Wave through the lengths for a mussy finish.

Here is your ultimate S/S 2014 runway trend guide. This season, there is fashion for every personality. It’s about tribal details, the power of pleats and the beauty of flowers, whether they’re luxurious embroideries or bold statement prints. Take cues from your favorite gallery and wear something artful. Don’t forget to add something shiny and to work on your waistline to sport the new must-have cropped tops. Sportswear has made its way into our daily wardrobe and bermudas should be worn layered with a skirt or dress.

One evening in Cannes, I was invited by Chopard to the “Somebody to love” party at Canal+. Mark Ronson, face of Fan di Fendi pour Homme, whom I had met in 2011 at the Versace for H&M Launch Party in NYC, was the DJ for the night. I have to admit that I had far too much fun so unfortunately I didn’t take too many photos…
My look: Pink marabou jacket by Emilio Pucci, ruched taffeta and lace dress by Nina Ricci, gold python pumps by Tom Ford, earrings by Chanel, crocodile clutch by Nancy Gonzalez and Silver Glam stay-ups by Wolford.

The Silver Glam stay-ups by Wolford are just perfect for adding that special something to your outfit, incorporating the pattern du jour: dots.

Ear cuffs are this season’s hottest accessory. They have made their comeback for the first time on the Chanel S/S 2012 runway last year, and since then those must-have jewelry pieces have been spotted on the likes of Cara Delevingne and Diane Kruger.
The ear cuff is a great investment piece for the summer, it can be worn in multiple styles depending if it is made from feathers, chains, or sparkling diamonds, adding real flair to your outfit in an instant.
Below are the best ones available at the moment. I bought myself the tiger version from the Roberto Cavalli S/S 2013 catwalk. For the post in which I am wearing them, please click here. By the way, the last three shopping suggestions (N°7-9) cost less than CHF 50.00.
1 Crystal-embellished branch earrings by Emilio Pucci
2 Embellished ear jewel by Givenchy
3 Gold-plated Swarovski crystal cuff-style tiger earrings by Roberto Cavalli (my choice)
4 Berbère 18-karat rose gold multi-hoop ear cuff by Repossi
5 Earring with ear cuff by Nina Ricci
6 Maia bronze leaf ear cuff by Pamela Love
7 Feather ear cuff by Anni Jürgenson
8 Double chain ear cuff by Anni Jürgenson
9 Ear cuff by Maria Francesca Pepe
The Swiss based designer Carmen Cita Jones also offers a large variety of ear cuffs. To shop, please click here. Enjoy this fabulous trend!

Yesterday, I arrived in Los Angeles in the late afternoon and went straight to my hotel, the Beverly Wilshire, one of the filming locations for the 1990 movie “Pretty Woman”. There, I attended a cocktail reception at the Montblanc Arts & Artisanery Lounge located at the fabulous Royal Suite, followed by a dinner at one of my favourite restaurants, Osteria Mozza.
My look: Black crystal embellished wool dress by Emilio Pucci and patent pumps with bows by Saint Laurent.
The decoration couldn’t have been more perfect for an Oscar experience…
The last photo of this post was taken this morning when I woke up after two hours of sleep. Gorgeous sunshine in the city of angels. I just love L.A.!
