Today it is International Women’s Day (IWD), a focal point in the movement for women’s rights, a day to celebrate womanhood. Let’s all be confident today and wear something fun that makes us feel good. I am looking forward to spending the evening among my best girlfriends, who always support and inspire me, who make me smile, whom I admire.
My look: Armonia checked wool-blend and cotton-gabardine trench coat and Nina leather tote in cognac, both by Gabriela Hearst, Philly pleated cloqué midi dress by Emilia Wickstead, embellished satin pumps by Miu Miu, and «DG hands» limited edition sunglasses by Dolce & Gabbana.

Last Saturday, I attended the Kispiball 2018 (Kispi is an abbreviation for Kinderspital which means children’s hospital in German) that always takes place at the Baur au Lac hotel in Zurich. It is one of my favorite charity events of the Swiss social calendar that raises money for the city’s children’s hospital that celebrates its 150 anniversary this year.
My look: Velvet-trimmed embroidered tulle and satin maxi dress by Diane von Furstenberg, Patsy textured-leather tote by Gabriela Hearst, leather platform pumps and floral silk pin, both by Gucci, Mitza ring by Dior Haute Joaillerie, vintage collier by Dior, and Tonda 1950 Galaxy by Parmigiani Fleurier.
That night, the nightmare for every fashionista came true, someone was wearing the same gown as me. But to be honest, it’s not the disaster you think it is. We had accessorized it completely differently, I had attached a floral pin. So, we both laughed about it, because that’s pretty much all you can do if you don’t want to grab a pair of scissors to alter the dress.

Gabriela Hearst believes in «honest luxury» – pieces that are beautifully made and don’t compromise her ethics and values. «There is a purpose to every piece,» says the former model of her eponymous label which is inspired by the ranch she grew up on in Uruguay and her current life in New York City. From the beautiful gowns to the impeccable tailoring, each garment is thoughtfully designed and crafted using the most luxurious fabrics. But really exclusive are her bags (for a previous post, click here please) as you cannot buy them in a store or online besides now.
For a limited time period of two-weeks only, Net-à-Porter is launching a pop-up boutique of Gabriela Hearst bags, which includes the exclusive «Patsy» and the new «Diana» styles along with the iconic «Nina» and «Demi» totes.
My favorite: Diana leather tote
It’s pretty much a given that every new bag Gabriela Hearst releases will become a hit in no time, but this ‘Diana’ bag that’s shaped like an accordion really strikes all the right notes. Made in Italy, it’s detailed with polished rose gold hardware and opens to reveal a striking red lining.
Another must-have: Patsy textured-leather tote
Inspired by vanity cases, this ‘Patsy’ tote has been made in Italy from pristine textured-leather with rose gold hardware. Be sure to snap it up quickly – the designer’s sought-after bags will only be available for a limited period of time.
Iconic: Nina leather tote
The unique round shape of this highly coveted tote is inspired by the exaggerated and voluminous designs of Colombian sculptor Fernando Botero. Known for its origami-like silhouette, this structured tote has been crafted from buttery leather and punctuated with gleaming rose gold hardware.

Wear a long cardigan or cardi coat – it’s all about being a little unpredictable. In cream hues with a bohemian vibe, those pieces will ensure you’re never having a dull dressing moment again this season. Perfect on those days when there’s a chill in the air but you don’t quite need a heavy coat.

Something really exciting to share with you… for one week only you will be able to purchase the Gabriela Hearst bags that you cannot buy in a store or online besides now. These bags are highly sought after and trying to get them is almost impossible with extremely high waiting lists – on average there is a waiting list of 1,500 client per bag at any given time. If you really want the bag, you have to email, hope and wait.
The friends of Gabriella Hearst who were carrying the famous Nina bag as one of the first ones have caused a big hype: Miroslava Duma to the left and Brie Larson to the right.
My favorite: the Nina leather tote in cognac.
After having produced 20 of those must-have pieces for friends and family, the designer got so many requests that she created an It-bag without even thinking about it. Now, New York-based designer Gabriela Hearst has partner with NET-A-PORTER LTD to raise funds for Save the Children for the unprecedented hunger crisis and impending famine in Turkana, Kenya. The designer is committed to make a donation of $600,000. From the money raised, save the Children will provide cash transfers to those affected families, giving them the ability to purchase urgently needed food and clean water to help them survive the drought.
Gabriela Hearst …
… next to her beautiful Ella two-tone leather tote.
A trio of its own: the Nina, the Demi and the Ellie. Hard to decide… and not a lot of time left as they are selling out like crazy!

Please be aware that the proceeds from the sale of the bags by NET-A-PORTER will not be donated to Save the Children. Instead, NET-A-PORTER is helping to raise awareness about the important work that this charity does and the donation will be made by Gabriela Hearst directly. The donation is made up of the money Gabriela Hearst makes from wholesaling the bags to NET-A-PORTER.
