My Look: Just Look

Sandra_Bauknecht_JUst_Look_Givenchy_Piaget

It was a busy day in Paris when I was shooting the social media campaign for the new Piaget Possession collection right along Jessica Chastain. I stayed at the beautiful Le Meurice hotel where we took some of the photos before leaving for the cocktail reception at the Piaget boutique at Place Vendôme, followed by an amazing dinner at Le Jules Verne restaurant on the 2nd level of the famed Tour Eiffel which I can only recommend. You enjoy the best of contemporary French cuisine along with the most spectacular view of the City of Lights, scintillating beneath your feet.

My look: Jacquard mini dress with pleated skirt and lace-up stretch-jersey bodysuit in black, both by Givenchymulticolored patchwork bag and pearl embellished sunglasses, both by Chanelcollege coat and Janis suede platform pumps, both by Saint Laurent, Limelight Gala watch and Possession ring, both by Piaget, Hapi leather bracelet by Hermès.

LoL, Sandra

My Look: The Other Side of Amsterdam

Sandra_Bauknecht_Amsterdam_Museum_Givenchy

Amsterdam has so much more to offer than its famous Red Light District. With over one million residents, it’s the largest city in the Netherlands and a creative, cultural hub. The Stedelijk Museum for example is absolutely worth a visit with its great exhibition of modern and contemporary art as well as design from the early 20th century up to the 21st century. It features artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Jackson Pollock, Karel Appel, Andy Warhol, Willem de Kooning, Marlene Dumas, Lucio Fontana, and Gilbert & George.

The Stedelijk is located at the Museum Square in the borough Amsterdam South, where it is close to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Royal Concertgebouw, that are all must-sees when being in the Dutch metropole.

My look: Floral print long cardigan and matching floral print T-shirt, both by Givenchy, Le Skinny De Jeanne mid-rise jeans by Frame Denimbiker boots by Miu Miu, Boy bag with chains by Chanel, diamond bracelet by Vainard Fine Jewellery, hoop earrings by Diorrose diamond ring and Limelight Gala watch, both by Piaget.

Met Gala 2015

MET_GALA_2015_Cover

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute in New York City and marks the grand opening of its annual fashion exhibit. Celebrating this year’s theme “China, Through The Looking Glass”, it seems to be one of the most challenging yet. See below who honored China’s heritage and its present culture on the red carpet best.

This year’s award to best dressed of the night goes to:

My Look: A Weekend in Moscow

Sandra Bauknecht - A Weekend in Moscow

As you know, I spent last week in Los Angeles. Nice weather and sunshine most of the time. Friday I left to Moscow, which literally meant a 40°C difference in temperature and 11 hours in time, but those facts didn’t stop me from having a great weekend in the Russian city. Here you see me at the Red Square on Saturday. It was my first time back after 30 years.

My look: Shearling coat by Pradametallic panel sweatericon by Givenchy, classic Plonge leather shorts by Saint Laurent, leopard-print scarf by Balmain, envelope bag by Céline and black leather boots by Chanel.

My Look: Empowered By

Empowered by _Sandra Bauknecht

Two weeks ago, the lovely Net-à-porter team contacted me and asked if I would like to join their #EmpoweredBy campaign that they are running this month. As you know, Net-à-portericon is my favorite online shopping destination and of course I felt very honored to be part of it. It is all about celebrating women all around the world who empower us!

Great news is that you can join the #EmpoweredBy campaign that I shot in Klosters last week as well. Here are the instructions:

1. W for Women
Raise your arms above your head to create a natural W shape with your body. Just like I did.
2. Tell the world
Post your W on Instagram and say who you are #empoweredby.
3. Pass it on
Add friends to your post, asking them to do their own W and share who they are #empoweredby.

Sporting this Dolce & Gabbana top on a  snowy day in the mountains, I felt like Little Red Riding Hood in a Gstaad Fairytale. Who doesn’t like to feel like a fairy once in a while?

A True Classic: Bright White

Bright White

White is the color of perfection” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of Pantone Institute. No other color – and yes, white is a color – has the range of moods that white does. Produced by the combination of all the colors of the visible spectrum, it can be warm and embracing, crisp and clean, or change its character according to the time of day or the time of year. It is most often associated with innocence, perfection, honesty, cleanliness, the new, neutrality and lightness. Whatever your trajectory, this is your blank canvas to run with.

My Look: Wear It Well

Sandra Bauknecht in Valentino FW2014 Dots Cover

Here you see an outfit post combining different F/W 2014 trends. Feathers have been everywhere this winter season, they are the perfect way to give your dressing a voluminous effect. Maybe every season polka dots are considered a trend, but they are definitely one of the must-haves for the upcoming S/S 2015 season. So Valentino’s overly cute and stylish version is a great investment to be carried into the next summer. Wear it well!
