Gucci Unveils the Gucci Circolo Berlin

Gucci’s creative energy is finding expression in the Gucci Circolo Berlin: a temporary space in the heart of Berlin where people can gather to enjoy an immersive experience and discover the House collections and codes.

Located in a historic building on the panoramic Landwehr Canal in Berlin-Kreuzberg, Gucci Circolo Berlin is an experiential space to be explored as a narrative journey through the various chapters of the Aria collection, designed by Alessandro Michele and presented in April 2021.
The journey begins with «Gucci 100» and ends with the presentation of «The Hacker Project» through a succession of settings that reflect and enhance the uniqueness of the Maison’s aesthetic.

On their journey through the Gucci Circolo Berlin, visitors have the chance to walk down the runway of the Aria fashion show, recreated at the entrance. The adventure continues in the Listening Lounge, celebrating Gucci’s long-standing connection with music. Here, surrounded by displays packed with vinyls, guests can embark on a sound journey inspired by the songs of some of the friends of the House, including Harry Styles, Sir Elton John, Florence Welch, Achille Lauro, and many others.

The Listening Lounge also offers the opportunity to download a playlist compiled to mark Gucci’s centenary. In the photo booth next to the Listening Lounge, visitors can have their photo taken with visual effects inspired by the patterns of the Gucci 100 collection.
At the end of the journey, guests can relax in the café area on Gucci Décor chairs, surrounded by precious floral arrangements.

Gucci Circolo Berlin features a full calendar of events until the beginning of December. It is housed in a historic building, now owned by Christian Boros, and home to his communications agency BOROS, the BOROS Foundation for contemporary art and the international art book publisher DISTANZ. Originally built in 1878 as the first sewage pumping station of Berlin, the building was formerly used by the senate as a lapidarium, a place for the storage and preservation of old stone monuments.

Location: Hallesches Ufer 78, 10963, Berlin, Germany
Opening Hours: Monday – Saturday, 11:00 – 20:00, upon appointment

Gucci 100 Collection

«The centennial, for me, represents an opportunity to bear witness to Gucci’s eternal vitality that year after year, is reborn, it renews itself, reestablishing an unusual relationship with contemporaneity as a boy, forever young, observing the world with a powerful vision. I recognized the manifestation of its youth in its having intercepted and traversed, for one hundred years now, popular culture in all its forms. Above all, in music: the only medium, aside from fashion, more reactive to the times that mutate and mark the new, the today, the now», Alessandro Michele.

Conceived as a tribute to celebrate the centennial of the Maison, Gucci 100 manifests a deep connection between two universal languages, the language of clothing as an expression of personal identity and the language of music that recalls a collective memory.
It all begins with reflections on a number: 22,705. This is the extensive number of songs in which the word «Gucci» appears among the lyrics from 1921 to date according to Musixmatch, the Music Data Company that manages the world’s largest archive of music lyrics and that has collaborated with the Maison for this research.

«It isn’t a revisionist attempt to rummage through the past: if anything, mine is a ‘reverse’ revisionism of the House’s history, stitched back together by a piercing note, a melody, a refrain. Also because, if I were to depict Gucci, for me it would be an eternal teenager who hangs out at places where music is heard and played», continues Alessandro Michele.

Ready-to-wear and accessories feature the Gucci 100 logo or are adorned with verses from three songs chosen by Alessandro Michele from among the countless tracks that mention the brand: «Music is Mine Gucci Seats Reclined», from the song «The R» (1988) by Eric B. & Rakim, «This One’s Dedicated To All You Gucci Bag Carriers Out There It’s Called You Got Good Taste» from «You Got Good Taste» (1983) by rock band «The Cramps» and «And The Men Notice You With Your Gucci Bag Crew» from Amy Winehouse’s «Fuck Me Pumps» (2003). The Campaign
Jazz, Psychedelic, Japanese Punk, Disco, Hip Hop, Afrobeat: these genres serve as the musical backdrops to a century-long journey in which a cast of characters moves through an evolution of sounds, harmonies, movements, tastes, and styles. Shot by Joshua Woods under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, the campaign channels love for life itself, the pleasure of conviviality, the beauty of dance, the overwhelming energy of music, the thrill of performance. Images that manifest, through their «analogic» charm, Gucci’s desire to express optimism and the pleasure of getting dressed as a shared moment of joy and amusement.

The campaign’s finale reveals a scale model of the legendary «Seville by Gucci» Cadillac, a paradigmatic expression of the late ‘70s flair and a testament to the Maison’s forward thinking. Originally produced in a very limited edition starting in 1978, Gucci has collaborated with Mattel Creations to create its first official collectible with Hot Wheels, a 1:64th scale replica of the ’82 model of the Cadillac in a limited edition of 5,000 pieces worldwide.

Blending fashion and music – love it!

My Look: Sunflower

Sunflowers are a symbol of the sun and symbolize love, happiness, vitality, positivism and energy. In Chinese culture, the graceful flower also stands for a long life and good luck. Seeing a sunflower field always makes me happy. Therefore please excuse my sunflower overdose but I truly enjoyed those last summer days to the fullest walking through the yellow fields.

My look: Sunflower print long dress, sunflower-embroidered point-toe mesh pumpssunflower motif Sicily shoulder bag, sunflower embellished headpieceicon, crystal-embellished sunflower ringicon and matching crystal-embellished sunflower earrings, all by Dolce & Gabbana, and cat-eye marbled-acetate sunglasses by Gucci.icon

Met Gala 2021

The Met Gala is typically held on the first Monday in May, but this year, the event was postponed due to COVID-19 and falls right in the middle of fashion month. As Iris Apfel once said: «When we were small children, we all played dress-up and everybody had a good time, so why stop?». This is how Met Gala is for me, a huge party for everyone who loves to dress up and has never stop to indulge in fashion.

Also referred to as «fashion’s biggest night out,» the Met Gala is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This year, the Costume Institute will host its first two-part exhibition, on the theme of American fashion, during 2021 and 2022. Part one, «In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,» will open in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and will remain on display when «In America: An Anthology of Fashion,» opens on May 5, 2022 in the period rooms of the American Wing. Both shows will run through September 5, 2022.

Below, you will find my personal selection of outfits, that I loved or didn’t like and hope you will enjoy it.

My Look: Little House on the Prairie

Challenging my inner Laura Ingalls Wilder… Driving with the MASERATI Ghibli Hybrid through the Swiss countryside in my Liberty floral print maxi dress, I remembered the American Western television series «Little House on the Prairie», that I loved to watch when I was a child. It is the perfect outfit for a picnic in the meadow.

My Look: Blended

Blended by the breathtaking beauty of Santorini and its amazing sunsets, I wore this vibrant look for a night out in Oia. It is an amazing destination to have your vacation with its Cycladian architecture, the picturesque scenery, and the volcanic landscape. Every corner offers a photo opportunity. Make sure to wear flat sandals or wedge platforms for exploring the stone paved alleys of the Greek island. Another thing to have in mind is that the stones might get really slippery, thus you must be careful and don’t risk your safety for a picture.

My look: GG diagonal silk kaftanicon, GG Multicolour platform espadrille, GG Marmont Multicolour small shoulder bag, and cat-eye marbled-acetate sunglasses, all by Gucci faux-pearl tassel earrings by Oscar de la RentaOyster Perpetual 36 with turquoise dial by Rolex, and J’Adior bracelet set by Dior.

My Look: Trésor de la Mer

Versace‘s iconic «Trésor de la Mer» motif celebrates the vibrancy of nature. Originally presented by  Gianni Versace for S/S 1992, the print shows a beautiful array of starfish, coral, and seashells. For S/S 2021, Donatella Versace seeked inspiration from her late brother’s breathtaking collection and created looks for the modern little mermaid. Here, you see me wearing it on my holidays in Santorini, Greece.

My look: Trésor de La Mer cropped embellished printed cotton-jersey T-shirticonTrésor de la Mer-print scoop-neck swimsuiticon, starfish-print cap, and white Rodeo pop-print shoulder bag, all by VersaceDouble G matelassé wedge espadrilles, and vintage elastic belt with star buckle, both by Gucci, Power butterfly sunglasses by Balenciagaicon, and distressed denim shorts by Saint Laurent.

My Look: Kusama

This week, I flew to Berlin for a very special event hosted by Veuve Cliquot: a unique closing dinner of the retrospective of exceptional artist Yayoi Kusama at Gropius Bau. The dress code said «colorful chic», so I went for this artsy, sophisticated look with a touch of elegance and a little bit of Veuve Cliquot orange.

My look: Layered embroidered silk-organza and pointelle-knit dressicon by FendiThe Pouch large gathered intrecciato leather clutch by Bottega Veneta, Arkendisc 130 patent-leather platform sandalsicon by Christian Louboutin, Horsebit blue topaz diamond white gold ringicon by Gucci Fine Jewellery, and gold-tone, bead and faux pearl clip earrings by Oscar de la Renta.

My Look: Energy

Looking good is all about having the right energy. If you feel good about yourself, it’ll be much easier to project that inner contentment into the world. You can wear the most stunning outfit but without the right attitude, you won’t have the same charisma. The best way to get started is taking some time off as I did at the Clinique La Prairie this spring to rewind for an instant energy boost. After my stay, I was ready to kick some … cannot wait to go back soon.

Speaking about fashion, I am in love with this outfit and hope you will be too. This is one of the most comfortable, yet sexy looking jumpsuits in my closet.

My look: Two-tone tulle-trimmed ponte halterneck jumpsuiticon by Balmain, embellished silver-tone belt and silver-tone, crystal and faux pearl clip earrings, both by iconAlessandra Rich, Playboy Lips appliqué canvas book clutch by Olympia Le-TanAngel leather platform sandals by Gucci, and Tank Française 25.05mm medium 18-karat gold and stainless steel watchicon by Cartier.
