My Look: Stay Cozy

Stay cozy – something I love to do during my stays at Gstaad Palace where I took these photos by myself with the timer of the iPhone on the balcony of my hotel suite. Sometimes when the sun comes out, I put on a hat with a wide brim for the ultimate UV protection besides sunscreen and enjoy reading and working outside. The hat elevates the look immediately from cozy to cool!

My Look: The New Muse

The new muse … Founded in New York City by designers Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk in 2014, AREA was named after the pioneering New York nightclub of the same name. As design students at Parsons the two creative minds bonded over a mutual love of ’80s glamour and feminine silhouettes. I feel so inspired by the  label’s high-octane embellishments.

My look: Cropped crystal-embellished checked cotton and wool-blend blazericon by AREA, distressed wide embellished paperback jeans by Miu Miu, suede-trimmed crystal-embellished mesh slingback pumps by Gucci, Cloud crystal-embellished suede clutch by Jimmy Choo, Cosette crystal-embellished velvet headbandicon by Jennifer Behrlarge crystal drop choker necklace by Alessandra Rich, and Big Bang All Black Zermatt by Hublot.

My Look: Party

It’s weekend – time to party, I miss those carefree days when we were dancing the night away. Dancing is literally my favorite thing to so and the best way to burn of those fondue calories. Unfortunately, Gstaad Palace‘s famous GreenGo hasn’t opened its doors this season (only for me to take these photos). So I can only dream how I would dress up to be a dancing queen.

My look: Belted silk-cady wide-leg jumpsuit, and VSLING small floral-print textured-leather shoulder bagicon, both by Valentino, Angel leather platform sandals by Gucci, black bow brooch by CHANEL,  silver-tone crystal clip earringsicon by Alessandra Rich, and rose diamond ring by Piaget.

Gucci – Year of the Tiger

Early February will see the Year of the Ox draw to a close and the Year of the Tiger begin. The slow, gentle and hardworking nature of the ox, which manifested the mood of 2021, will be replaced by the speed, strength and power of the tiger in 2022.

In celebration of the holiday, different versions of the animal define a curated selection of ready-to-wear and accessories—highlighting the multifaceted nature of the Gucci universe. Rich with significance for the House, the animal expresses the Creative Director’s fascination with the beauty of nature.

Depicted against a backdrop of colorful greenery and flowers, a reimagination of an archival design by Vittorio Accornero, the creator of the Flora motif, the feline pays homage to the brand’s heritage.

A contemporary version of the tiger mixes with the collection’s logo print, forming a connection between the House’s past and present.

I was born in the Year of the Tiger – so needless to say I am in love with this collection and am looking forward to the new year ahead.

Prêt-à-Portea F/W 2021 at The Berkeley

Arriving perfectly dressed for the new season, the F/W 2021 Prêt-à-Portea collection at The Berkeley Hotel in London showcases couture cakes inspired by designers from Ganni to Gucci. A contemporary twist on afternoon tea, this playful and stylish edit is set to become another favourite for sweet-toothed fashionistas.

This season’s collection opens with a striking ensemble from Balenciaga Couture – reimagined as a velvety mandarin cheesecake, topped with an oversized chocolate hat. While a delicately spiced and intricately iced biscuit – complete with red lipstick and oversized glasses – is our pastry team’s fitting tribute to fashion icon Iris Apfel’s 100th birthday.

Seasonal flavours are firmly on the menu, with the cassis mousse with blackcurrant jelly, depicting Stella McCartney’s psychedelic jumpsuit. A Pink Lady apple pavlova is a refreshing nod to Giambattista Valli’s avant-garde look, and a hazelnut dacquoise with salted caramel sees cult Danish brand Ganni make its Prêt-à-Portea debut.

The season’s centrepiece is a made-to-share red velvet mascarpone mousse, finished with a chocolate truffle riding hat – straight from Gucci’s 100th anniversary collection.

As always, your tea also includes elegant canapés and sandwiches, with a selection of loose-leaf teas from our extensive collection.

Until 2 January 2022, festive Prêt-à-Portea will be served only, from £79 per person. This will include our fashion-inspired delicacies, as well as festive treats and your choice of a mocktail, a glass of champagne or a glass of mulled wine.

From 11 – 14 Feburary, 26 & 27 March and 15 – 18 April 2022, the seasonal Prêt-à-Portea will be served only, from £79 per person. This will include our fashion-inspired delicacies, as well as seasonal treats and your choice of a glass of champage or a mocktail.

The latest selection of ready-to-wear and accessories embraces self-discovery through a mix of bold logo prints, geometric patterns and forest-themed motifs.

From jackets and T-shirts to cats, from backpacks to tracking boots, a massive selection of 126 co-branded pieces with an outdoor-inspired feel is available now.

My absolute favorite piece from the second chapter is the hooded cotton-blend canvas-jacquard down jacketicon. The sizing runs pretty big. I am wearing an XXS.

My Look: House of Gucci

This is the look that I would have worn to the premiere of the new House of Gucci movie this week, if I hadn’t been in quarantine. Thank God, we shot the look at the Pathé Cinema in Spreitenbach (where you have beds in one cinema, how cool is that?!) before the event.

I personally cannot wait to see the film myself as I heard so much about it and I would like to form my own opinion. A star-studded cast, fashion from the Gucci archives and a true crime story, this is a match made in heaven for me.

Gucci’s Famous Red Velvet Suit

Gucci’s red velvet suit. This is one of those iconic pieces. Designed by Tom Ford in 1996, the red velvet suit immediately became a hit. The Gucci F/W 96 show was one of his best collections ever, he said, «it all came together for the first time.» He referenced his own ’90s Gucci collection for his eponymous label for F/W 2019.

Tom Ford F/W 2019

In celebration of Tom Ford-era Gucci—and the designer’s indelible legacy in fashion, it’s no wonder why the brand’s current creative director, Alessandro Michele, chose to revisit one of the House’s greatest hits for the label’s centennial and released the interpretation of Ford’s iconic suit for his F/W 2021 collection.

Gucci Ad F/W 1996

«Gucci becomes for me a hacking lab, made of incursions and metamorphoses,» Michele said in a statement earlier this year when he first released the re-creation to celebrate the House’s 100th anniversary. «An alchemical factory of contaminations where everything connects to anything

Gwyneth Paltrow made the red velvet suit famous.

In 1996, Gwyneth Paltrow first wore the red velvet suit, designed by Tom Ford for Gucci’s F/W 96 collection, on the red carpet at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards and made it famous. Last month, the actress arrived at Gucci Love Parade in Los Angeles, California in the iteration of the suit by Alessandro Michele.

The recent zeitgeist is all about re-editions, so many brands are looking into their archives for inspiration. As much as the fashion world loves all things new, newer, and newest, in those days we cannot resist a good throwback either.

You can shop the Gucci F/W 2021 look now and get a piece of fashion history: Single-breasted cotton-blend velvet suit jacketicon, and flared cotton-blend velvet suit trousers.

I would have worn this amazing suit to the premiere of the new House of Gucci movie, if I hadn’t been in quarantine. Now, it is up to you to guess if my suit is from 1996 or 2021. As I have always been telling you, don’t throw anything away. The time will come again.
