Celebrating CHOPARD Ice Cube in Zurich

Last Tuesday, I was invited by CHOPARD to celebrated their Ice Cube luxury jewelry collection. Moving away from the Maison’s iconic hearts, the geometric design of the line marries urban elegance and modernity. With their square facets meticulously crafted like so many reflections off ice, Ice Cube creations embody style, sophistication and glamour. The bangles will look amazing with your other arm candy stack. Just saying …

The evening started with a beautiful champagne reception at private member club Haute, followed by a seated dinner on the top floor where we could discover the Ice Cube collection, including luxury rings in gold, rose gold and white gold, diamond pendants, bracelets and earrings.

The entertainment was amazing that night as we danced and sang to the tunes of the Knights Club band. The energy in the room was as infectious as the sparkling jewelry on display. Thank you, CHOPARD, for having me!

EOS – Evolution of Smooth

Eos_beauty_on_the_go

Can a lip balm make you smile? EOS thinks so and invented a lip balm (EOS Smooth Spheres Organic Lip Balms ) that is 95% organic, 100% natural, and paraben and petrolatum free. Delightfully flavored and packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter, and jojoba oil, these lip products have caused a hype among beauty lovers. But not everyone was pleased with its nourishing results.

Last year, EOS was in the news as there was a class action lawsuit in the US filed for severe allergic reaction to the iconic lip balm. Now, this has been settled and the brand is said to have updated its packaging to address the adverse reactions some customers have had.

Personally speaking, I have those little «ping pong balls» in an array of colors plastered around my house, in my car and my hand bags. I have never had an allergic reaction to them. But as I tend to have very dry skin, those lip balms alone would not be enough and I still need more nourishing products at night.

HauteView from Haute restaurant.

Recently, I was invited to their press event at Haute restaurant in Zurich. Overlooking the Swiss city, I was able to indulge in the world of EOS and learnt some interesting facts:

foto-56

– It is the beauty brand with the highest social media engagement.
– The pomegranate flavor sells best in Europe whereas the strawberry one is the bestseller worldwide.

– The ones that come with the swirl packaging (EOS Visibly Soft™ ) have a more nourishing effect as they have an extra dose of cocoa butter and shea butter, which is great for winter.
– The only one with an SPF is the yellow lemon drop (see photo below).

EOS lip balms are available for CHF 6.90 at Manor in Switzerland!
Happy Sunday!

Golden Pearls by Bucherer

Golden Pearls by Bucherer

The pearl is one of the oldest gems in the world. There have been many ancient legends handed down from one generation to the next on those precious jewels. The Roman Empire considered pearls to be status symbols. According to the myth, Cleopatra bet her lover Marc Anthony that she could provide him with the most expensive banquet the world had ever seen. The day of the feast, Cleopatra, who was wearing an enormous pair of extremely precious pearl earrings, dropped one of them in a vessel containing vinegar that dissolved it completely which was more expensive than most lands.

For the ancient Greeks the pearl was a symbol of love and marriage. Thanks to Coco Chanel, they stand today for the ultimate statement of style. Coco loved pearls and used several necklaces of various sizes for a more dramatic effect.

Pearls can make you look more radiant. In Europe, the most popular shades have been white and pink-rose to flatter fairer skin tones whereas in Asia, natural-coloured golden pearls have enjoyed great popularity since many years.

Finally, pearl farmers have succeeded to cultivate golden pearls in a shade that suits all skin tones, “Vanilla Overtone” is lighter and more radiant. Bucherer is the first European jeweler, that is offering this new colour in a large selection. To celebrate the launch, I was invited to a Golden Pearl High Tea in collaboration with Falcon Private Bank at the Haute restaurant overlooking Zurich’s rooftops. Everything matched the golden tone of the pearls, from the shimmering pastries to the sparkling champagne and the exclusive tea.

And as a diamond is a pearl’s best friend, enjoy how beautiful the two look in combination.
