Hermès Passifolia Tableware

Early this year at Maison et Objet in Paris, HERMÈS launched a new tableware designed by artist and ornamentalist Nathalie Rolland-Huckel that I have fallen in love with immediately and that will hopefully make its way into my new home soon…

A true ode to the beauty of flora and tapping into the tropical jungle trend, the collection is named Passifolia – a portmanteau of Passiflora incarnata (the scientific name of the passionflower). Taking plant-based dining to a whole new level, it is the fruit of an artisanal adventure and an exploration of innovative know-how.

The service, which consist of around 30 pieces, offers an immersion in a universe that is both dreamlike and incredibly real, with floral and other more foliage-based compositions. Plates, platters and cups spread out across the table and form landscapes that invite contemplation.

A profusion of plant life to the dining table and a great way to add more greens to your table – so beautiful…

My Look: Let’s Stay Home

Let’s stay home – staying home is an act of care for our neighbours, friends, family and all the public health workers who work so tirelessly to keep us safe. However, I am of the opinion that dreams and inspiration must keep a place in our daily life, especially in such difficult times. Over the past few days, I have received some disturbing and aggressive messages from people who think I should abstain from posting «normally». Respecting other opinions is a virtue I hold dear to my heart. I would appreciate the right tone, «c’est le ton qui fait la musique».

Personally, I have a different view on it. Firstly, posting is my passion and makes me truly happy. Over the last ten years it has become my profession and pursuing it during quarantine gives me comfort, a sense of normality. My mission is to share a daily dose of fashion and lifestyle with my readers and I shall continue as long as I can. Online shopping is becoming a welcome alternative to strolling down Avenue Montaigne and frankly is a way to support our economy. If you like my outfit, just click on the highlighted descriptions to be transferred directly for more information.

Being at home gives me finally the time to write about many things I never had time for. Furthermore, I have a lot of pre-shot footage like today’s post that I am so happy to be able to post now. Why spread bad vibes if we have the chance to send each other good energy… and personally speaking, I still like to dress up as it makes me feel good. And that is the most important!

My look: Striped cotton-jersey cardigan, and matching striped cotton-jersey track pantsicon, cotton-poplin shirticon, all by Thom Browne, The Pouch small gathered leather clutchicon by Bottega Veneta, embroidered Ace sneakersicon by Gucci, and stole 140 «Cosmographia Universalis» in blue/rose/vivid yellow by Hermès (design by Jan Bajtlik).

My Look: Leopard Snake

Here is proof that leopards and snakes can get a long very well. I adore mixing animal prints and hope that you will, too. In my opinion, rain gear couldn’t look any prettier.

My Look: I’m a Herrera Woman

For over three and a half decades, Carolina Herrera has proved with each new season that bold elegance and modern refinement are always in style. Recently, I had the privilege to meet the newly appointed Creative Director Wes Gordon with Net-à-Porter in Dubai (stay tuned for the upcoming post). The extremely talented designer reinforces a commitment to the strong codes established by the founder, blending traditions of couture craftsmanship with the wearability and pragmatism of American Fashion.

My look: Satin-trimmed cady mini dressicon by Carolina Herrera (exclusive to Net-à-Porter), pussy-bow silk satin blouse by Dolce & Gabbana, pochette with chain by CHANELicon, Zoe cutout two-tone leather pumpsicon by Saint Laurent, and «Vicky» hat in black by Hermès.

The Birkin of the Lipsticks

Hermès, a house of objects since 1837, presents its sixteenth métier, Beauty, with its first collection, Rouge Hermès, devoted to the beauty of the lips. The Birkin of the lipsticks so to say…

«We approach this new métier in our own way, and with a great deal of pleasure. Hermès Beauty is part of who we are: a house where everything comes from creation, driven by artisans who seek to accompany the men and women of today with elegance, and with the integrity and au-thenticity that we represent. It is the quintessence of our affection for surprise and wonder, which embraces the object, its design, and the desire to be useful while inspiring dreams
Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermès

The fruit of design, research and development work initiated more than five years ago and di-rected by Agnès de Villers, CEO of Hermès Perfume & Beauty, in the spirit of excellence and the integration of know-how that characterises Hermès, Hermès Beauty is a collaborative creation under the aegis of Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artistic director of Hermès.

Pierre Hardy, creative director of Hermès jewellery and Hermès shoes, designed the object. Bali Barret, artistic director of the women’s universe and creative director of women’s silk, contributed her vision of femininity and colour, while Jérôme Touron, creative director of Hermès Beauty, transposed this vision into make-up. Their work on objects, materials, colours and gestures de-veloped freely through shared affinities and connections. Finally, Christine Nagel, Director of Hermès’ olfactory creation, gave this collection its fragrance.

Rouge Hermès lipsticks are Hermès objects in their own right, expressing all of the house’s principles in a small item of make-up. They share the same aesthetic of function as all Hermès objects.

«Our approach to beauty is fundamental. It is to reveal and highlight what is naturally there, with elegance, comfort and pleasure. I like the idea of Hermès as an intimate companion, revealing one’s deepest self. I associate Hermès’ beauty objects with self-fulfilment, with the colour of an individual’s personality,» asserts Pierre-Alexis Dumas.

Created from noble materials – lacquered, brushed and polished metal in black, white or permabrass gold – assembled by hand, the lipsticks are rechargeable and made to last.

As Pierre Hardy explains, «I love the simplicity of pure shapes that colours have the ability to animate. Intuitively, to become timeless, this object had to be able to morph, remain iconic, but stay fluid, be part of a connected sequence, and perpetually recognisable. A constant yet ever-changing object

The sensual and fine textures of the sticks deposit colour in a single stroke, with a matt or satin finish reminiscent of the house’s Doblis and Box leathers.

«Materials carry colour. They give it its strength and its subtlety. They give it a particular finish. At Hermès, colours travel. They are reinvented from one material to another,» states Jérôme Touron.

The house’s elegance, spirit and imagination are expressed in 24 hues, a sophisticated selection inspired by the métiers of Silk, with the infinite richness of its colour references (75,000 shades), and Leather (900 shades).

«Like a silk scarf gracing a woman’s neck that creates radiance and reveals her beauty, for Hermès Beauty we wanted to discover or rediscover the emotion of colour as a fundamental feminine trait,» explains Bali Barret. «At Hermès, colour is an irrational, intoxicating passion, a craftsmanship of nuances, an obsession with striking the right tone, and a language all of its own

The emblematic collection is accompanied by a twice-yearly limited edition of three colours.
As beautiful inside as they are on the outside, Rouge Hermès objects cultivate sensory appeal and attention to detail, right down to a miniature version of the famous orange box.
Other beauty objects accompany the lipstick and form the basis of a ritual: a lip care balm, Poppy lip shine, a universal lip pencil, and a lip brush in lacquered wood. A collection of leather accessories – cases and a moon mirror – invite movement.

Hermès Beauty will be enhanced with other objects, to be revealed every six months from September 2020, until a complete line of make-up is created.

The Rouge Hermès collection will be available from 4th March 2020 in selected Hermès stores and retail outlets in 35 countries.

My Look: Call Me!

Call me a true fashion lover. This look has become one of my favorites of the season, exaggerated houndstooth pattern, combined with a logo print cape and my new Hermès Himalaya Birking bag which is considered the holy grail in a handbag collection. It is crafted from Nile crocodile hide. The name «Himalaya» is inspired by the delicate gradation of the colour that is resembling the majestic, snow-capped mountains. The process of dyeing the leather is exponentially more difficult as the shades lighten. It takes a lot of time and craftsmanship. I feel blessed to call one my own.

My look: Wool-jacquard cape by Gucci, bow-detailed houndstooth wool-blend sweater and houndstooth jacquard-knit shorts, both by Alexander McQueen, T-Rex shearling-lined logo-print coated canvas and leather ankle boots by Fendi, set of two silver-tone and crystal hair slides by Saint Laurent, sunglasses by CHANEL, rose diamond ring by Piaget and Himalaya Niloticus crocodile Birkin bag by Hermès.

Hermès Arceau Ronde des Heures

The Arceau watch, designed by Henri d’Origny in 1978, lends its understated yet unique aesthetic to a new expression of time according to Hermès. A playful and paradoxical creation that diverts the moon from its expected role.

Here, the Earth’s satellite itself indicates the time as the numerals whirl in the moonlight, while the minutes hand points to the distant stars of a constellation. Ever since its creation, the round 36 mm case of the Arceau has rested on a rectangular stirrup, tracing a timeless silhouette. Its black bezel adorned with black spinels radiates an intense nocturnal light. Its sunburst glossy black dial is enlivened by a carousel of sloping numerals sweeping over an iridescent moon. Standing out against this radiant darkness are a moon and stars crafted in mother-of-pearl and revealed by luminescent lacquer.

Issued in a limited edition of 300, the Arceau Ronde des heures watch in steel is fastened to the wrist by a strap in black alligator crafted by Hermès artisans. Price: CHF 6450.00.

I find it very beautiful and you?

Apple Watch Hermès Goes Dramatic

The collaboration between Apple and Hermès, based on a unique vision and shared values, continues this autumn with radical new creations for Apple Watch Hermès Series 5.
Apple Watch Hermès is the expression of a shared quest for excellence, attention to detail, and a profound respect for know-how and craftsmanship.

Dark Art, black shines a light on time
The dial of Apple Watch Hermès Series 5 is entirely in black, as are the strap and buckle.
The time is revealed by the interplay of light and shadow that accompanies the revolution of the hands.

Della Cavalleria, a play on monochrome and printed leathers
Apple Watch Hermès Series 5 also plays on contrasts with new straps. Three monochrome colours – encre, étain, and brique – combine with leather printed with the Della Cavalleria scarf design. The dial harmonises with these new creations, prolonging the intensity of the colours.

Apple Watch Hermès Series 5 will be available to order on hermes.com and apple.com from now, with availability in selected Hermès and Apple stores from 20 September in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the UAE, the UK and the US.

Hermès – Un Jardin Sur La Lagune

With UN JARDIN SUR LA LAGUNE, HERMÈS celebrates dreams, and invites to discover a secret place in Venice, where fragrances come from the sky. In this vibrant and caressing perfume, the scents of magnolias and pittosporums mingle with sprays from the sea to create a singular gentleness.

Blooming in the shadow of dreams… this is the fifth fragrance in the HERMÈS Garden-Perfumes collection, the first in this line created by Christine Nagel, who is the Maison’s in-house perfumer since 2013.

Personally speaking, I like her perfumes a lot, and this one is extremely special, so different and intoxicating. Not as fresh as the previous ones, instead slightly oriental. A warm and sunny fragrance that puts a smile on your face and Venice references in perfumery are always interesting, don’t you think?

The illustration for the beautiful packaging is signed by the famous Bosnian artist Safet Zec.

UN JARDIN SUR LA LAGUNE
Eau de Toilette 30ml (CHF 76.00), 50ml (CHF 108.00) and 100ml (CHF 154.00)
Body Lotion 200ml (75.00) and Shower Gel 200ml (CHF 60.00).
