Truth is, I love everything pink. It is such a powerful color. Pink comprises pop culture and fashion, playfulness and girlhood. It can be innocent and not so innocent, luxurious and tacky. In January I told you about this must-have sweater for fall the first time (click here for the previous post). As announced in yesterday’s post, today is World Oceans Day, the United Nations day for celebrating the role of the oceans in our everyday life and inspiring action to protect the ocean and sustainably use marine resources. We can all do something for the environment. Even if you are not close to an ocean, you can make an effort to keep your local shores clean. This also works around Lake Zurich. Don’t forget, small acts can make a huge impact.

Today, in honor of this special day, I am wearing a look from Mary Katrantzou‘s beautiful Mary Mare collection. This shell print couldn’t be a better fit.

In order to prepare for the future, you need to unchain yourself from the strictures of the past. Let the past help and inform you; just don’t let it hold you back. As Sir Richard Branson once said: «You don’t learn to walk by following rules. Jacquemus named his S/S 2018 collection La Bomba that was inspired by French island girls from Corsica, Martinique or from the Caribbean. My favorites on the runway were his oversized straw hats (for a previous post about this trend, click here please) that epitomize summer perfectly. Nothing adds more glamour to your beach look than a gigantic straw hat.

Balenciaga’s green dollar–print shirt offers a sublime example of Demna Gvasalia‘s reinvention of timeless house codes. Convertible and layered, it can be worn in different ways –  one of my favorite pieces of the season. In Switzerland you can find a great selection at Trois Pommes.
