Sometimes it is time for a fresh perspective on the contents of our closets. The summer 2014 had lots of trends to choose from, like crop tops, cutouts, and transparent pieces among other highlights. If you’re anything like me, you may already be more than happy to kiss some of those looks goodbye, but there are plenty, too, that you might be excited to wear during the upcoming season.
My look: Denim vest and wide belt, both by Saint Laurent, leather and wool top by Gucci, Altea crepe and silk-organza skirt by Stella McCartney, embellished textured-leather sandals by Valentino, fringed tote by Lanvin, gold-plated multi-strand necklace by Etro, ladder gold-tone chain bracelet by Proenza Schouler, sunglasses by Céline, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.

On Wednesday, I had a busy afternoon. First I went to Marionnaud‘s press conference to explore the house’s newest beauty brand BE CREATIVE MAKEUP, followed by a fashion show with Montblanc for the 6th edition of MODE SUISSE inside Zurich’s Lichthof.
This week has been perfect, many amazing things have happened and I am extremely happy. That might have been the reason for the pink splash of color I added to this elegant outfit giving it a joyful and fresh upgrade. And as you see, I had quite some fun taking those pictures.
My Look: Elaphe-paneled wool sweater and snake-print silk-satin and chiffon skirt, both by Jason Wu, metallic snake-effect leather pumps and pink pussybow silk necktie, both by Saint Laurent, fringed tote by Lanvin and diamond ring by Vainard Fine Jewellery.
Lips: Kiss Kiss Shaping Cream Lip Colour in 361 Excessive Rose by Guerlain.
Nails: Le Vernis Nail Colour in 619 Pink Tonic by Chanel.

Gosh, this Zurich weather is driving me up the wall. I just got back with a nice tan from Ibiza but cannot show it as it is cold and rainy outside. What a pity!
A few days ago, I wrote a post about those lovely Burberry Prorsum capes and I tell you that this has been one of the best investments recently. You can easily throw it over your shoulder and it gives you just the perfect touch of warmth in the month of August. Later in the season you can add it as another layer to your winter coat. Get one now, you won’t regret it!
My look: Checked wool and cashmere-blend cape by Burberry Prorsum, leather shift dress by Saint Laurent, cut-out ankle boots by Balenciaga, Noé BB Bag in citron by Louis Vuitton, Cool gold-tone ring by Lanvin, ring Mitza by Dior Haute Joaillerie, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis and small check-print twill umbrella by Burberry.

Chicago is, hands down, the best place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, outside of Ireland. As most of you know, I had lived in the Windy City for two years before I moved to Zurich and always loved seeing the Chicago River dyed in a brilliant shade of green (a tradition that dates back to 1962). A great inspiration for today’s post.
Are you in the mood to leave all others green with envy? Here you go, indulge in this great outfit in the must-have hues for St. Paddy’s Day.
Get the look: Emerald green one-shoulder ruffled crepe gown by Lanvin, Amazon cutout suede sandals by Aquazzura, crystal-embellished satin shoulder bag by Burberry and gold-plated, crystal and resin clip earrings by Kenneth Jay Lane.
Looking at the photos below from yesterday’s dyeing festivities makes me really miss Chicago and my friends there…

Global color authority Pantone announced its official shade for 2014: RADIANT ORCHID, a captivating and enigmatic purple! “While the 2013 color of the year Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®.

Radiant Orchid’s rosy undertones radiate on the skin, producing a healthy glow when worn by both men and women. A dazzling attention-getter!

Stella McCartney‘s ability to fuse masculine and feminine designs is outstanding. This winter, she went for the pinstripe pattern and brought the classic business look to the world of high fashion.
Are you still considering it ultra-conservative? Well, no more, ladies! With those pieces you can put a cool spin on classic pinstripes. Neither too lightweight nor too bulky, this style will take you effortlessly from winter to spring.
My look: Striped wool sweater dress, flared pinstriped wool-blend midi skirt, both Stella McCartney, Janis leather pumps and Cassandre light blue clutch with tassel, both by Saint Laurent, Gloria resin, Swarovski Pearl and crystal necklace by Lanvin, Lady Excalibur watch by Roger Dubuis and Mitza ring by Dior Haute Joaillerie.
