Louis Vuitton – Twist x Eve Jobs

Louis Vuitton reveals the latest Twist bags in a photo series with Eve Jobs. A recent friend of the House and an equestrienne par excellence, she showcases these new animations with strength and grace.

Since making its debut during the 2015 Cruise runway show, the Twist has been embraced as an iconic Louis Vuitton bag. A modern, sophisticated design defined by a signature transforming LV lock and graphic shape in Epi leather, it stands out as an emblematic creation that perfectly articulates the Maison’s savoir-faire.

For F/W 2022, Louis Vuitton puts a fresh spin on the Twist with several new animations. The original LV Twist lock, a jewel-like feature that enhances the bag’s classic design, is reinterpreted in a new «Gourmette» lock in four variations: colourful strass, enamel, an engraved Monogram, and engraved metal that echoes the signature Epi leather.

The subtle radiance of the Gourmette lock highlights the innovation of the iconic clasp that pivots from an LV to a V, reaffirming the heritage of the Maison with contemporary flair. Pink strass and black enamel accent the chic black design; silver strass and pale blue enamel add a sleek fashion-forward touch to the Twist in pale quartz; and blue strass with white enamel emphazise the freshness of the blue toledo bag. A faceted gold or silver chain has been added as a refined accent to these styles.

Compact yet spacious, the Twist retains its day-to-night versatility across small and medium sizes. An adjustable and removable leather smart strap provides multiple carry options. The iconic Twist also features in its signature camel, black and white versions.

Dressed in looks from the F/W 2022 ready-to-wear womenswear collection that reflect countryside and urban sensibilities, Eve Jobs gives off a natural allure that extends to the Twist bags she carries. I like a lot and you?

Louis Vuitton x FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™

Louis Vuitton unveils an exclusive capsule collection designed specially for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ that captures the excitement of football in sophisticated shapes, sporty treatments, and discreetly elegant details.

Since 2010, Louis Vuitton has provided the travel trunk for one of the world’s most sought-after, legendary trophies: the FIFA World Cup Trophy. In the years following, Louis Vuitton’s relationship with the FIFA World Cup™ grew, unveiling a new leather goods collection launched for the 2018 edition of the globally anticipated sporting tournament.

On the occasion of this twenty-second edition, five collectible pieces in black Taurillon leather channel the game’s energy by revisiting one of Maison’s most emblematic signatures, the Damier motif, embossed to recall the movement of the net as a goal is scored.

Timeless icons like the Keepall 50 and City Keepall bags, as well as the Discovery backpack, return as ideal travel companions, offering ample central compartments, practical inner pockets that keep essentials to hand, and adjustable straps accented with black metallic hardware (on Keepall styles, shoulder straps also are removable). Finishing touches include a leather tag shaped like a soccer league badge, with «Louis Vuitton» stamped in white and a tone-on-tone LV signature set amid the mesh. The generous Keepall 50 also features five protective bottom studs shaped like football cleats.

Small leather goods include a dopp kit with contrasting piping and an adjustable leather handle, alongside a handy pocket organiser with five inner pockets, an outer pocket, and contrasting edges and LV logo.

The Louis Vuitton FIFA World Cup 2022™ Official Licensed Product Collection will be available in selected Louis Vuitton stores and on louisvuitton.com from October 6, 2022.

Louis Vuitton Empreinte

An intemporal Louis Vuitton jewellery collection, Empreinte is enriched by new creations which evoke inner adventure and personal discovery.
Designed in 2004, the Empreinte collection is distinctive for its immediately recognisable designs which draw their essence from the Maison’s emblematic codes.

This year, Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director of Jewellery and Watches for Louis Vuitton, opens a new chapter by turning her eye to unprecedentedly bold creations with contemporary designs.

The impression of trunk studs is etched into these 18-karat yellow, white or pink gold pieces, for women as well as men. The powerful LV initials, designed by Georges Vuitton in 1896, and openworked Monogram Flowers are also to be found.

Interlaced rings and bracelets are an allegory for the relationship between loved ones, and resemble the leather straps that fasten the Maison’s legendary luggage.

The emblematic four-petalled flower exerts its universal attraction on medallions that appear as modern talismans, and on the cords of bracelets that lightly follow each movement.

Versatility is expressed in a long necklace that easily transforms into a multi-strand bracelet or a stacked necklace.

Shapely hoop earrings and a diamond-studded pink gold ear cuff develop geometrical strength, and may be worn individually or mixed-and-matched for a resolutely unique style. With Empreinte, Louis Vuitton asserts a jewelry collection full of character, writing an ode to travel in clear lines and bright strokes.

Personally speaking I love this collection because not so many people are carrying it as the Cartier Love collection for example. Empreinte is special and beautiful, definitely on my shopping list.

Louis Vuitton – LV Trainer

For all who couldn’t get their hands on the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh sneakers, here might be another option from the French Maison: the new version of its iconic LV trainer that pushes the concept of sustainability even further, with its utterly graphic silhouette made of 90% recycled and bio-sourced materials. Available in three colour variations, the LV Trainer is adorned with the Maison’s signature Sustainable Development logo.

A newcomer to the Louis Vuitton collection and the embodiment of the Maison’s innovative spirit, this unprecedented model created by Virgil Abloh marks a new chapter in eco-design. Manufactured in the Louis Vuitton workshop in Fiesso d’Artico, Italy, using a highly complex process, the sneakers blend eco-design with fine craftsmanship, in accordance with the codes of circular creativity.

A true icon in the sportswear world, the LV Trainer is now breaking new records, without ever compromising Louis Vuitton’s standards for creativity and quality. The sole, a key component in terms of weight and comfort, is composed of an unparalleled 94% recycled polyurethane, with unchanged efficiency in terms of bounce, cushion and foot support – most notably thanks to the use of recycled cotton inner pads, and an insole made out of fully recycled polyurethane. As for the upper, it blends recycled polyester with a corn-based plastic material. The laces, made from used plastic, cross over the tongue, which is also recycled polyester, whereas the eyelets contain 91% regenerated polyurethane.

Available in sizes 4 to 15.5 (which means it is also available for women), this LV Trainer boasts the logo designed by Virgil Abloh. A visual example of Louis Vuitton’s upcycling philosophy, it has since become the symbol of the Maison’s commitment to sustainable development. The logo will be released in white with green accents from August, and then in red and black versions this September. The logo also features on the inside of the box, which is made out of entirely recycled and recyclable cardboard and which, thanks to an ingenious handle, turns into a bag – a strategy saving as much as 70% in materials to ensure the lowest environmental impact in terms of transportation and storage. Going even further, Louis Vuitton made the choice to use plant-based inks and to leave the inside of this unprecedented packaging in its original kraft.

Finally, a felt shoe bag in Tencel™ – renewable fibres from sustainably managed forests – acts as a layer of sustainable protection for the LV Trainer.

«Our committed journey» is Louis Vuitton’s sustainable development plan, in line with the LIFE360 (LVMH Initiatives For the Environment) programme. Through six lines of action, it aims to preserve natural resources (sustainable supply of materials, contribution to climate protection, circular approach of creativity) and to have a positive impact on society (diversity and inclusion, commitment to local communities, development of know-how).

Shopping with a good conscience!

Louis Vuitton High Jewelry Collection Spirit

The very essence of Louis Vuitton’s spirit is captured in the boldness, novelty and singular intensity of the fourth High Jewelry collection designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, the Maison’s Artistic Director for Watches and Jewellery.

Spanning 125 spectacular pieces, Louis Vuitton Spirit is an initiatory jewellery odyssey, infused with the power of mythological creatures that the contemporary Louis Vuitton woman will recognize herself in. True to the Maison’s pioneering spirit, capacity for innovation and constant desire to explore new territories, the Louis Vuitton Spirit collection brings together concepts held dear by the Maison. Not only liberty, strength, and the notion of infinity, but also the ideas of destiny and of soaring to new heights.

Francesca Amfitheatrof has taken the mythology around fantastical creatures and transposed it to the 21st century, creating allegorical High Jewellery pieces infused with her highly contemporary vision of the symbols showcased in the collection.

«Like a phoenix rising from the ashes to take flight, or a dragon breathing protective fire, the Louis Vuitton woman exudes amazing strength, energy and optimism. It is that very femininity – so emancipating and emblematic of the Maison – that I wanted to embody in Spirit. To express all the vitality that drives this adventure in jewelry, triangle shapes and Vuitton Vs are omnipresent, forging a new, modern and high-impact visual language. I used this shape in many pieces, playing with triangles of different sizes,» says Francesca Amfitheatrof. «It reads as the Vuitton V and resembles an arrow, which was the earliest graphic symbol ever created by humans – pointing the direction, it constantly urges us forward

This provides Spirit with a graphic purity whose aesthetic force runs through every design, linking them like a precious, live energy.

Louis Vuitton combines its unique designs with extraordinary gems. It took three years to source and bring together a magnificent tsavorite weighing over 65 carats with such a selection of perfectly matched sapphires from Sri Lanka, emeralds from Colombia, rubies from Mozambique, and diamonds of flawless purity.

This astonishing collection is set in five universes, each reflective of the Maison’s values: Liberty, Grace, Fantasy, Radiance and Destiny. Louis Vuitton Spirit comprises more pieces than any High Jewellery collection in the history of Louis Vuitton, making it the Maison’s largest ever. It required over 40,000 hours of work in the Parisian ateliers, which yet again outdid themselves in their levels of mastery and technical prowess.

The freedom to explore, to discover new worlds, to express one’s innermost nature: with this constellation of 22 pieces, Louis Vuitton’s creative boldness breaks free of High Jewellery’s conventional design codes. The incredibly regal star piece is an armor-like necklace with a secret message hidden within it. Louis Vuitton created a fresh interpretation of its Damier pattern in a mosaic composition of square and triangle custom-cut diamonds, then superimposed the hinge motifs from its iconic trunks. This fully articulated matrix of rippling geometries is brought to vivid life by an outstanding selection of emeralds from Colombia – the largest of which weighs 8.90 carats – and a 2.60-carat D VVS1 diamond in the Maison’s signature Monogram Flower cut.

The crowning jewel in this necklace is an extremely rare sapphire from Sri Lanka weighing 18.08 carats and of an unparalleled royal blue. Complementing the Liberty necklace is a ring fashioned from triangle-cut diamonds around a 10.41-carat sapphire. Two additional sets of jewellery in diamond, emerald and sapphire – designed with a more minimalist aesthetic – complete the Liberty theme.

Two phoenix wings unfold around the neck as a metaphor for the Louis Vuitton woman’s capacity for renewal, soaring off to discover new lands
and reach new heights. This perfect balance between strength and grace gives rise to a stunning winged necklace. An ode to the virtuosity of the Maison’s High Jewelry ateliers, the design is formed of a double V – one V made of custom-cut baguette diamonds, the other a twisted metal torque of round diamonds that curves around the top of the neck, thanks to the consummate artistry of an articulated setting in white gold.

The curvilinear Grace necklace culminates in a breathtaking 65.26-carat tsavorite from East Africa. Forming a detachable pendant to the necklace, this perfectly crystallised gemstone radiates such a pure shade of green that it seems almost unreal. As companions to this masterpiece, which took jewelers more than 2,000 hours to craft, Louis Vuitton also created two other jewelry sets, monochromatic diamond compositions whose graceful outlines make up chokers, rings, earrings and bracelets.

In perpetual movement, the wanderlust so prized by Louis Vuitton is made manifest here in a virtuoso interlacing of yellow gold chevron motifs with diamond paved triangles and Vs in white gold. This two-tone contrast of textures plays out on a two-row necklace whose hypnotic design seems to course across the skin in a dazzling, unstoppable stream. The flawless geometry of its chevrons amplifies the Vuitton V and acts as a callback to the arrowheads that Louis Vuitton showcases in its High Jewellery collections.

Spotlighting a 2.56-carat Monogram Flower-cut diamond, this necklace can be worn in three different ways. It is paired with a spellbinding ring, whose body of gold chevrons rises to a crowning 8.73-carat round D FL diamond that seems to be gazing at the woman wearing it… The same design principle is carried over to the sautoir necklace, earrings, rings, and cuff bracelets that complete the Fantasy family.

This opulent necklace is intended to act as protection for a woman as she makes her way through life, like a second skin of gold and platinum that simultaneously speaks of the untamed, mysterious nature dormant inside each of us, and the fire and ardor that erupts from within. Every scale that makes up this piece is individually mounted, so that its masterfully concave checkerboard pattern sits perfectly on the skin.
A pyramid construction brings out the radiant gleam of each mirror-polished yellow gold section, while their collective brilliance is heightened with diamond tips. In the center of the necklace is a 10.99-carat mandarin garnet whose bright orange fire sets it ablaze.

Radiance’s raw power also infuses the matching cuff, pendant and sets of earrings. This striking family of jewellery is completed by two rings, each adorned with a mandarin garnet (weighing 14.73 carats and 18.72 carats respectively).

This strikingly architectural jewellery set magnifies the power of Louis Vuitton’s legacy, revealing the fullness of its spirit through a repeating pattern of triangular shapes and the ever-present letter V. Destiny’s ultra-graphic necklace construction plays on solids and voids, teaming diamond-encrusted triangles with Monogram Flower-cut diamonds, while the whole piece is brought to life by a number of fiery rubies from Mozambique. Preeminent among these is a ruby weighing over 10 carats and displaying an emerald cut, which is extremely rare for this stone. Its characteristic red is totally pure, both bright and intense at once. As it is detachable, this ruby can also be worn on the specially designed accompanying solitaire ring, which comes with a detachable diamond that also hangs from the necklace.

Alongside this outstanding central piece, Louis Vuitton has crafted other jewels in the realm of Destiny – an additional three-row diamond and ruby necklace, a variety of earrings, rings and bracelets, as well as a brooch. The constellation also includes a matching set of jewellery in monochrome diamonds, where triangular shapes give rise to pieces of consummate elegance such as a solitaire ring set with a 10.88-carat emerald-cut D FL diamond.

Louis Vuitton Rolling Luggage Series

As the history of Louis Vuitton has been defined by innovation in travel, the Maison advances its Rolling Luggage series with the launch of Pégase, newly reimagined by Marc Newson. Among the most influential industrial designers of his generation, Newson has collaborated with Louis Vuitton on two previous designs since 2016: Horizon followed by the Horizon Soft duffle. With each chapter of Rolling Luggage, emblematic Louis Vuitton features combine with superior functionality.

Since the debut of his collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Newson reveals how savoir-faire, the hallmark of Louis Vuitton, benefits from a precise, forward-minded vision. «The objective for all three luggage collections was to have a consistent vocabulary between them and to share the same innovations,» says the designer.

Already, the Horizon and the Horizon Soft duffle stand out within the category. Beyond the recognisable Monogram or Damier canvas, the hard case and duffle shapes are both supported by an exterior trolley system and extra flat interior. For Pégase, Newson once again applied his expertise in materials and engineering, testing aluminium alloys used in aerospace to arrive at tubes of an unparalleled slimness. By reducing their interior protrusions, internal space is optimised throughout. Topped with an ergonomic handle, this latest trolley system excels in strength and manoeuvrability.

«This was one of the very first elements I wanted to address for the interior,» Newson explains. «You could say I approached this product from the inside out.» Meanwhile, in keeping with the spirit of Louis Vuitton himself, the option of packing cubes continues to offer a modular approach to the art of packing, compatible across the luggage collection.

In revisiting Pégase, Newson expands the Maison’s Rolling Luggage through rigorous and highly technical standards. The streamlined exterior is outlined with metallic zip hardware along the main compartment and an ample front compartment. The latter, newly sized for storing and protecting computers and tablets, is both an organisational and aesthetic feature that enhances overall convenience whether travelling for business or leisure. Two carrying handles are located on top and at the side for comfort of use, while two wheels offer an optimised interior volume. An integrated TSA combination lock and a removable TSA combination padlock keep belongings secured. The Pégase requires 28 operations to assemble its 89 distinct pieces and has been conceived so that components may be easily repaired and replaced accordingly.

True to the visual language of Louis Vuitton, the Pégase is offered in timeless Monogram, Monogram Eclipse, Damier Graphite and Taiga Leather. Underneath, the shell ensures that Pégase is at once lightweight and ultra-resistant. In this way, frequent travellers will appreciate that Newson has given equal consideration to exterior and interior.

As travel for any purpose becomes essential and exciting once again, Louis Vuitton Rolling Luggage collection delivers an elevated statement through design that is built to last.

Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 by Virgil Abloh

There is so much hype about the release of the Louis Vuitton and Nike «Air Force 1» designed by Virgil Abloh. Now, finally in June 2022, 9 editions of the sneaker – first presented as part of the S/S 2022 Men’s Collectionwill be launched globally through an inclusive digital activation, with members of the Maison’s community offered early access to order the shoes.

Until May 31, 2022, the 47 editions of the «Air Force 1» imagined by Virgil Abloh were exhibited to the public in the showcase Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh in New York City. This event coincided with a number of corresponding art installations around the city. Manufactured in the Maison’s Manufacture in Fiesso d’Artico, Venice, Italy, each design fuses the sneaker’s original codes with the Maison’s finest leather, materials and insignia of Louis Vuitton, and the distinctive visual grammar of Virgil Abloh.

Celebrating its 40th year, the classic Nike «Air Force 1» was designed in 1982 and is one of the most successful shoes ever created. A cultural symbol in its own right, Virgil Abloh viewed the sneaker as an objet d’art emblematic of self-generated cultural provenance. The 47 expressions of the Nike «Air Force 1»  were created for a Louis Vuitton collection rooted in the Amen Break, a little-known drum break of a B-side created by the funk-soul group The Winstons in 1969, which would be sampled and go on to underpin the hip-hop and jungle genres, and splinter into thousands of the pop tracks most familiar to us today.

In June 2021, Virgil Abloh explained his approach: «The Air Force 1 is a sample like the Amen Break. A t-shirt is an ‘Amen Break’, a suit is an ‘Amen Break’. We’re all iterating on the same ideas. But, in my canon, the Air Force 1 puts the edge on the blade. This object happened way before me, but to get to a context where it’s adjacent to the t-shirt and the suit, its logic has been forty years in the making,» he said.

In February 2022, 200 pairs of the sneaker designs were sold at auction, to benefit The Virgil Abloh™ «Post-Modern» Scholarship Fund.

The 9 editions selected for Louis Vuitton in-store release cover mid-tops (EUR 2,500) and low-tops (EUR 2,000), and will be made available in Nike sizes ranging from 3.5 to 18. The launch includes the classic all-white sneaker embossed with the Louis Vuitton Monogram, and a riff on the same design in black suede. Two-tone editions in white with either green, red or blue detailing nod at the rainbow motif key to the work of Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton. Likewise, a metallic gold sneaker pays homage to the designer’s debut collection for the Maison, while patchworked multi-colour renditions celebrate his distinct graphic language.

Finally, a Damier edition is adorned with a «Louis Vuitton» graffiti motif created by the artist Ghusto Leone. The full launch includes:

  • White mid-top in Monogram embossed plain calf leather.
  • White low-top in Monogram embossed plain calf leather.
  • Black low-top in Monogram embossed calf suede.
  • White and Gym Green low-top in a trompe-l’oeil canvas executed in printed Monogram leather and Monogram embossed calf leather.
  • White and Comet Red low-top in a trompe-l’oeil canvas executed in printed Monogram leather and Monogram embossed calf leather
  • White and Team Royal Blue low-top in a trompe-l’oeil canvas executed in printed Monogram leather and Monogram embossed calf leather
  • Gold low-top in Monogram embossed metallic canvas.
  • Silver and multi-colour patchwork low-top in Monogram embossed calf suede and monogram embossed metallic canvas.
  • Sail and Multicolor mid-top in Damier leather with an Azur graffiti print (available in sizes 5-18)

As a way of building bridges between countries and cultures, the late Virgil Abloh merged the worlds of high fashion and streetwear. The Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh can be seen as another unifying motif. Hard to get your hands on, but absolutely worth it! It is a piece of fashion history. I attached for you the making of the sneakers. So interesting to experience the craftsmanship going into the shoes.

Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama – Chapter Two

Ten years after its global collaboration, Louis Vuitton launches chapter two of its partnership with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, hitting stores worldwide in January 2023.

Since the creation of Louis Vuitton in 1854, the Maison has nurtured strong ties with the art world, collaborating with a series of artists who have brought their unique vision to Louis Vuitton. These close relationships have produced often radical reworkings of the Maison’s most iconic creations, in the process rewriting the rules of creative collaborations between luxury brands and artists. Yayoi Kusama’s collaboration in 2012 (Part one in July 2012 –  Part two in October 2012) flourished through various universes of the Maison, from exhibitions, products and a series of unique window installations, which included a startingly life-like mannequin modelled after the artist herself.

Finale at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 show in San Diego and some detail shots:

Yayoi Kusama, born in March 1929, is an avant-garde artist whose perspective is expressed through myriad techniques from sculpture, painting, installation, filmmaking, photography, and happening, to writing in a variety of styles. She is regarded as a precursor to Pop and Minimal art, yet her diverse art practices resist any singular classification. Yayoi Kusama’s artworks originated from hallucinations such as where the red flower patterns on a dining table’s tablecloth started to spread across the walls, floor, and even across herself…She has been battling her inner fears and obsessions and pursuing the mysteries of life by depicting the hallucinations she has experienced since her childhood. Please click here for a post about her retrospective in Berlin last year.

Look 51 Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023

As a celebration of the Maison’s relationship with the artist and to mark the 10-year anniversary of the first collaboration, a handful of leather goods were premiered during Artistic Director of Women’s Collections Nicolas Ghesquière’s Cruise 2023 fashion show at the Salk Institute in San Diego. These exclusive bags feature a reinterpretation of the artist’s obsessive dots across Louis Vuitton signature shapes as well as on new models. A true first taste of a transversal collaboration that, come January 2023, will radiate through all Maison categories.

More information will be disclosed at a later date.
