Céline built their collection around the white turtleneck as their key piece for F/W 2011. And the French fashion house wasn’t alone. The mostly close-fitting version of the versatile classic was seen on many runways, for both men and women. The very `60s inspired look is clean and crisp, providing you with the perfect minimalistic base to layer on (another trend for F/W 2011) and it will give you the possibilty to wear it for fall with a summer dress that you are not willing to put away yet.

No, just kidding, it wasn’t me who went back to school, it was my daughter. So one of those very stressful mornings with no time to get ready as we had to leave pretty early. I am sure that all mums know what I am talking about.
Therefore I kept my makeup very simple, meaning just a little blush and some lipgloss (no eye makeup!). In case of an emergency, you can hide your eyes with big sunglasses.
My outfit: Blue Blazer and Python Flats by Zara (in stores now), White Shirt by Prada, Shorts by Blumarine, Sunglasses by Marc Jacobs, Python Boston Bag by Céline, Earrings and Ring by H&M, Bangles by Chanel and Bracelet (Souvenir from Istanbul).
Have a nice day!

This winter, there is only one way to wear your crisp white shirt: buttoned-up to the very top. The wheel of fashion is always turning. On the runways, there were lots of masculine references, the season is all about the suits. Designers are paying tribute to the working girls and to keep things demure, no more cleavage is shown. But no worries, combined with a cool pair of shorts, the look is more about sophisticated minimalism instead of looking all prude.
My favourites are the shirts with embellished collars (Miu Miu and Christopher Kane) that are now in stores.
Enjoy experimenting!

No, this is not the newest Tom Ford advertising campaign. It is part of the amazing pictures taken by Mario Testino during the recent wedding of Kate Moss with rocker Jamie Hince for the September issue of American Vogue. The newly weds channel a modern-day Mick and Bianca Jagger, re-creating the couple’s 1971 backseat wedding portrait by royal photographer Lord Lichfield
On Kate: Tom Ford velvet-and-fur coat. On Hince: Tom Ford red velvet jacket.
Kate Moss graces also the cover of the fashion bible. Mario Testino captured the famous party guests plus the beautiful decorations and details so wonderfully that I wanted to share these with you. What a great inspiration for your own big day, don’t you think?

Thank you to all of you who were sending me such sweet e-mails regarding my outfit that I wore to the Chanel show in Paris last month (see photo in the middle below). Some of you were curious about the colourful fur stole, so let me tell you more about it.
The fashion world has declared Prada’s hot accessory from the S/S 2011 runway show as the must-have item. Just look at who’s already been spotted with it.
First on the scene with the stole was no other than ueber-stylish editorilista herself, Anna Dello Russo.
Marc Jacobs wore it casually draped around his neck to party with Kanye West while Mary-Kate Olsen was trying to hide from the paparazzi with it. It has appeared in many editorials and Rihanna sported the stole in her latest music video for her single “S&M”.
It comes in an array of vibrant colours and is perfect to work this season’s colour block trend.
As it is mostly sold out worldwide, I have some exciting news for you. There are three pieces left in Switzerland. For further enquiries and the colour combinations available, please contact this number: +41 43 2110943.
Below you can enjoy some close-up shots of my “baby”. Aren’t those colours divine?!

Yesterday I showed you the best dot tights for this season. They are a very good investment. This strong trend is staying for F/W 2011. Get ready to cover yourself in all manners of dots. On coats, dresses and on the legs, right on the spot and so hot!
Wolford (see photos below) offers great dot designs through all of their product groups for F/W 2011, from the Bonny dots tights to the Bonny stay-ups. Modern dots can also be found on lingerie in the muted colours of nude and black and in their ready-to-wear line.
Put on your best dots!

Yesterday in New York City, influencers from the worlds of fashion, art, philanthrophy, business and entertainement came together like last year at Christie’s Bid to Save the Earth. After a live auction, the Runway to Green fashion show took place that must have accelerated every fashionista’s heart. The pieces on the catwalk from over 25 designers including Prada, Gucci, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Thakoon and many more were from the upcoming F/W 2011 collections.
Now, those must-haves are available on net-à-porter, but only on the US site. No worries, my dear European and Asian readers, they also ship to us. A minimum of 10% of net-proceeds from the sale of each item will benefit Alliance of Climate Protection, Natural Resource Defense Council and United Nations Environmental Programme’s Billion Tree Campaign. Shopping for a good cause and your chance to be the first to wear a stunning piece from the next season. Do I need to say more..?!
Ready, set, go!

Louis Vuitton’s F/W 2011 show had already the best invitation with a gorgeous tassel hanging from it. Marc Jacobs also touched the Parisian World War II-era like Miu Miu did but he added a fetish vibe which is said to be a metaphore for women’s obsession with bags. Talking about the power of a handbag which brand could be better than Louis Vuitton.
The show’s decor was absolutely amazing. Four elevators transported the models on stage. Porters for each opened the lift doors like in a luxury hotel.
The looks were all about peaked caps, sculpted jackets, jodhpur pants, tiny little briefs and below-the-knee pencil skirts.
Later on, French maids in plasticized lace and embellishments in the shape of masks and handcuffs started to exalt the imagination.
Kate Moss presented the last look waving a cigarette and looked smoking hot in both senses. If you are interested, you can watch the show by clicking here.
The must-have Louis Vuitton bag for F/W 2011 will be the reinterpreted 1958 top-handle Lockit bag. For the show, some versions had a diamond encrusted handcuff attached to it.
What can you say… such a Louis Vuitton handbag is for life.
Below you can see which celebrities were spotted at the show. I hope that you will like it.

Here is my fifth and final look from the LuisaViaRoma Total Styling Lab. This time I focused on the maxi trend and gave my look some romantic touches by adding a bow belt that I tied around my waist and the cute straw hat.
Nothing epitomises chic summer dressing like a ground skimming dress paired with flat sandals.

For summer many designers focused on the midi length. As mid calf is for most women a critical point (you really have to be very tall and ultra-skinny), it seems all natural that the maxi length was spotted on many runways, too. Having a bohemian,`70s inspired feel, the creations were to die for!
Flowing maxi gowns ripple and float around the body, revealing as much as they conceal. Billowing slash-front skirts show off legs from top to toe, no tights allowed. This is sex appeal to the max!
