The second half of the Louis Vuitton – Yayoi Kusama collaboration (Please click here for the photos of the first arrival in July) will hit the shelves tomorrow, September 8, 2012 – much earlier than expected. Here is your sneak preview of the upcoming pumpkin-inspired products.

For its upcoming highly anticipated ‘fashion meets art’ collaboration, Louis Vuitton has teamed up with avantgarde painter, pop art artist, fashion designer, sculptor, street performer and poet, Yayoi Kusama. At the age of 82, she is an artist of many talents.

The preview is not even on the official website, the Louis Vuitton press offices keep everything secret. But thanks to WWD and Stylerumour, the first photos have emerged.

Here is your very exclusive and so exciting preview of what the Japanese dot-enthusiast and Marc Jacobs have come up with. Personally speaking, I am crazy for those polka dots, especially the red and white ones that remind me so much of Minnie Mouse. Also included in the collection are wave prints. The colours are yellow, red, black and white.

The collection will be unveiled Mid July 2012 in Louis Vuitton stores around the globe, with a second wave of goods arriving in October.

First of all, thank you for your lovely e-mails regarding my outfit for the Who is Who release party. So many were asking for more photos. Here we go!

As you already know, polka dots are a must-have trend for fall (click here please for a previous post), and I especially adored Stella McCartney‘s elegant and ladylike take on the look. My black twill all-in-one comes with tulle inserts and a feminine peplum at the waist. I added my Tribtoo pumps by Yves Saint Laurent and my Diorette cocktail ring. Swatch warms us up for the polka dot mania this fall with their Dots & Checks Collection that is available from today.

Yesterday I showed you the best dot tights for this season. They are a very good investment. This strong trend is staying for F/W 2011. Get ready to cover yourself in all manners of dots. On coats, dresses and on the legs, right on the spot and so hot!

Wolford (see photos below) offers great dot designs through all of their product groups for F/W 2011, from the Bonny dots tights to the Bonny stay-ups. Modern dots can also be found on lingerie in the muted colours of nude and black and in their ready-to-wear line.

Revived already on the last season’s runways, the hype sees no end – dot tights are still hot. The chic, French hosiery is the perfect lightweight alternative to heavy textured tights, these mostly-sheer hose provide ample leg coverage and a large dose of fun!

The trick to pulling off polka dot legs is to pair them with an equally bold patterned dress or top. My favourite ones are by Wolford and Falke.
(Available in different colours, tights and knee-highs).

If you like the pieces, you better start stocking up your closet. Both versions are seasonal and won’t be available for long.

What a lovely morning. The sky was blue and the sun was shining when I went to the to see the Stella McCartney F/W 2011 show in the Paris Opera house. The collection was like the weather, just amazing, probably one of her best presentations.

The first looks were sculptural pleated silhouettes in black and astro blue.

Stella defined a new silhouette with broader shoulders borrowed from the menswear. She is always strong when it comes to tailoring. For winter, it will be masculine and exggerated. Her knitwear pieces were all about texture. I loved the gold foil felted wool in bold volumes.

The show got better from piece to piece. Blue velvet was bonded with scuba stretch, introducing body contouring silhouettes. Those dresses are so sexy. 
Hand embroidered spots floated on transparent tulle. Separates were layered using different sizes of polka dots to graphic effect.

 

 

Accessories echoed the collection, from stiletto pumps with gold foiled soles to flat masculine loafers and clutches made of hand cut resin with rounded brass details for evening. So beautiful!
