My Look: Painted Dots

I like to spend the whole month of January at my happy place, the Gstaad Palace. The hotel’s spa is one of my favorite parts of the hotel with its cozy fireplace, gym, heated outdoor pool and the best spa treatments. Here we photographed this fun look featuring the new Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama collection.

I chose a bag from the «Painted Dots» as I adore its artisanal approach. Louis Vuitton’s craftspeople developed a special technique to make some of the 3D paint daubs look «wet,» as if they’d just been painted by Kusama’s hand.

My look: Double-breasted cloth jacket with feather detail by Prada, pussy-bow cotton-poplin shirticon by Valentino, layered stretch jersey-trimmed low-rise straight-leg jeansicon by Alexander Wang, Kate 100 black suede pumpsicon by Christian Louboutin, silver-tone crystal clip earrings by Alessandra Rich, Painted Dots Monogram scarf, and Painted Dots Monogram Onthego PM, both Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama.

Stay tuned as my birthday is coming up and I will explain to you why I am not afraid of turning one year older…

My Look: New Year’s Eve at the Palace

Following my tradition, I spent New Year’s Eve at the Gstaad Palace hotel with my dear friends and family. «It’s not a fairytale, it’s real.» The hotel’s slogan describes perfectly how a stay at the Palace feels like.

My look: Crystal-embellished cutout stretch-satin jersey gownicon by Paco Rabanne, crystal-embellished leather clutch by Prada, open-toe platform-sole sandals by Gucci, and silver-tone crystal clip earrings by Alessandra Rich.

Opening Up Prada

The anticipation of an unopened box, the revelation in its unpacking, the joy of giving, the thrill of receiving: PRADA celebrates the traditions and memories inherent in the season. Connecting innately to that spirit, PRADA surprised me with a gift box in store. Revealing its tantalizing treasures layer by layer, I felt pure and innocent joy by this simple gesture of giving.

The beautiful Cleo crystal-embellished shoulder bag drawn from the Holiday collection, as well as the set-of geometric-pattern baubles both express the breadth of the Prada aesthetic universe, encompassing fashion and accessories alongside nods to homewares and games.

What I love about those glittery accessories and fabrics is that you can wear them all year long. They are definitely not limited to the Holiday season. Opening up Prada. Add some sparkle to your life. All year long… a holiday treat you will never regret.

Prada Drops Eighth Timecapsule NFT

Prada announces the eighth installment of their Timecapsule NFT Collection. The drop on January 5th follows a successful 2022 campaign where Prada embraced the Web3 community and opened their reach to new audiences, allowing for unique experiences for NFT holders.

The latest NFT drop is #37 in the Timecapsule collection. Kicking off the new year, the first three months will present a series of shirts featuring special prints by Italian photographer Enzo Ragazzini from his archive from the late 60s’ and early 70s’.

Titled INTERFERENZA OTTICA ART PRINT BY ENZO RAGAZZINI 1969, the January shirt will feature a design made in 1969 on the occasion of the Enzo Ragazzini exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London (ICA) with the optical interference technique, using mechanical devices of his own invention (the «rotating plane» for the circular patterns and the “rotating drum” for horizontal patterns). This work was then digitized in 2017.

The poplin shirt’s front pocket features the Prada enameled triangle logo and a transfer on the back with the word «JANUARY». Each shirt comes accompanied by its own gifted NFT, which serves as an invitation to join Prada’s exclusive Crypted NFT community.

As with their S/S 2023 fashion show, one Prada Timecapsule NFT Holder and a guest will be offered the opportunity to be hosted in Milan for a Prada exclusive experience including an invitation to the Prada Menswear F/W 2023 fashion show on January 15. More details will be shared on the Prada Crypted Community on Discord.

A Prada Christmas Tree at Hotel de Russie

Hotel de Russie, a Rocco Forte Hotel, located in the heart of the Eternal City, is collaborating with Prada this festive season for a jointly designed Christmas tree that stands radiantly in Hotel de Russie’s Valadier square.

A grid of white LED triangles on an octagonal base of luminous logos makes up the nearly 5-metre-high tree, culminating in a shining Prada triangle. The avant-garde polygonal structure inspired by the iconic geometry of Prada gives a contemporary feel to the spectacular staircase that leads into the historic monumental garden. The collaboration between Hotel de Russie and Prada is a symbol of style and modernity that represents a tribute to the excellence of «Made in Italy».

To complete the Hotel de Russie’s Christmas decor, the hotel’s time-honored tradition of festive decorations welcomes guests as they step into the lobby. Co-founder and creative director of Sebastian Flowers Italy, Frank uit het Broek, has created a setting which features an interplay of red, gold and green along with lights, sparkling details and symbolic ornaments that include carousels, sweets, red ribbons and Father Christmas.

The Hotel de Russie Festive Season:
Christmas Eve Dinner (Saturday 24th December)
Christmas Brunch (Sunday 25th December)

Prada Drops Seventh Timecapsule NFT

Prada announces the seventh installment of the Timecapsule NFT Collection. On December 1st, in celebration of the festive season, there will be an exclusive holiday drop of a gender neutral sweater along with a gifted NFT.

The latest NFT drop is #36 in the Timecapsule collection. Reimagining the traditional holiday themed sweater, the primary colours will be red and white, with black stripes visible on the bottom and on the cuffs. The Merino wool sweater is made with a special Norwegian jacquard knitting technique, while the PRADA logo and DECEMBER lettering featured on the sweater are made with an embroidery technique.

As with previous drops, Prada wants to continue to offer exclusive opportunities for their Web3 community. Timecapsule NFT holders will have the opportunity to gain access to exclusive events and experiences including invitations to special events such as Prada Extends and Prada Mode, which are held around the world. NFT holders from the first six drops will be in with an exclusive chance to attend Prada Extends Miami on the sidelines of Art Basel 2022. Earlier this month, previous NFT holders had the opportunity to attend the eighth iteration of Prada Mode, a traveling social club that provides members with a unique art experience along with music, dining and conversations, which featured an installation by artist Damien Hirst in Dubai.

Registration for Prada Extends Miami is available within the «Experiences» section inside the Prada Discord Channel. All information on the RSVP process is shared with community members on the Prada Discord Channel.

The Timecapsule drop is an online monthly event that takes place on the first Thursday of every month. Limited quantities of the Timecapsule Collection products are made available for 24 hours. Each limited-edition Timecapsule item has its own unique serial number (limited to 50 pieces) and is prepared for delivery with custom packaging. By purchasing the Timecapsule, customers will be able to redeem the related NFT. With this process, Prada maintains consistency and harmony between the exclusivity of the Prada Timecapsule and the rarity of the corresponding NFTs.

Each NFT includes the drop serial number and the serial number for its accompanying physical item, so there is a direct relationship between the physical and virtual products. NFT owners are eligible to participate in exclusive benefits and experiences, as well as gain priority access to future drops.

Prada Timecapsule NFTs are issued on Ethereum infrastructure, offering a secure and user-friendly experience. The Aura Blockchain Consortium provides the underlying NFT solutions and technology.

My Look: Versace

This was the outfit I wore to the Versace F/W 2022 show in Milan. The Italian Maison has such a huge momentum again, its skyrocketing platform heels are all over along with the iconic codes we all adore so much. The surge in archival interest, and Donatella’s enduring icon status have made the brand a star once more.

My look: Envers satin jacket dress, Medusa chain embellished waist belt, Medusa Aevitas embellished satin platform pumpsicon, and small Medusa top handle bag, all by Versace, black panties by CHANEL, and gold mesh necklace by Prada.

Trending: White Tank Top

The F/W 2022 runways marked a return to basics, including the white tank top, another ’90s staple. Bottega Veneta, Prada, Loewe, Chloé and more included this must-have in their winter collections. Cementing its status as the staple piece du jour, the white tank top has naturally caught the interest of influencers and tastemakers around the globe. Here are the four versions everybody is dying to get their hands on.

Cropped Anagram tank top by Loewe

Scrolling through social media, I can’t help but notice that Loewe‘s cropped version has been populating our feeds.

Ribbed stretch-cotton jersey tankicon by Bottega Veneta

For this debut Bottega Veneta collection, Matthieu Blazy opted for a simple outfit comprised of a white tank top, jeans and a burgundy handbag (see photo above).

Ribbed wool and cashmere-blend tankicon by Chloé

Chloé kept it simple with ribbed tops paired with leather pants (see photo above) in winter-friendly materials, such as wool and cashmere.

Meanwhile, Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada added the Italian brand’s iconic triangle logo to the piece and made it on top of the wish list.

Sandra’s Closet Halloween Costumes

I am not a fan of those typical costumes for Halloween, poorly produced, made out of horrible materials, they create waste and are bad for the environment. Luckily, many Halloween costumes can be easily created just from the clothes in your closet and common household items.

Think of one of your favorite iconic movie characters and dress like them. If you have a lot of pink in your closet, then you can probably pull off an Elle Woods or become a Barbie girl (think of the latest Valentino Pink PP collection). Or be a «Queen of Hearts». Put on a long preferably red dress and find your household deck of cards for this easy DIY costume. Just attach some cards with safety pins and off you go. The easiest way is to play with make-up and accessories such as a pair of funky boots and stockings, top it off with a little flour in your hair to make it wiry and wild, and carry around your kitchen broom or your Dyson.

Personally speaking, I always put together costumes with pieces from my own closet. However, I know that my wardrobe is huge and I have many items that scream «dress up» already. Here some of my designer outfits that would be perfect for Halloween! Moschino, Dolce & Gabbana along with Prada are the brands that offer the easiest take on fashion with humor. Prada Eternal Gold

When Prada invited me to Milan to experience the launch of the first truly sustainable fine jewelry collection by a global luxury brand using 100% certified recycled gold, I was totally excited. Unfortunately, I had to be in London and couldn’t make it. However, I still have all the information to tell you about ETERNAL GOLD. In general, Prada fine jewelry is embedded in sustainable practice that informs twenty-first century luxury, alongside time-honored artisanal techniques and precious gems and metals. Inherent in the notion of fine jewelry – always – is the idea of unique pieces created with a future in mind, to pass between generations, to stand the test of time. The eternal.

A new interpretation of this concept, sustainability is built into the core of ETERNAL GOLD, reflecting Prada’s wide-ranging commitment to conscious and responsible practices across every facet of its business – including the shift of Prada’s total nylon production to its innovative sustainable recycled Re-Nylon. 100 percent of the gold used in Prada fine jewelry is Certified Recycled Gold, meeting ‘Chain of Custody’ standards set by the Responsible Jewelry Council. Every step and incarnation of Prada’s responsible gold and diamond production chain is verifiable and traceable – something offered by no other fine jewelry or luxury fashion house in the world.

Prada’s recycled gold is drawn only from eligible recycled material sources, in compliance with due diligence – including industrial gold, and post-consumer precious objects. Prada partners exclusively with those suppliers of precious metal and stones who meet the highest industry standards concerning human rights, labor safety, environmental impact, and business ethics. The reduction of mining of new gold benefits both environments and human rights, and while traceability of diamond origins is conventionally only possible with stones of 0.5 carat or larger, Prada expands the concept, for the first time, to stones of all sizes. It also extends through the entire value-chain, from mining to cutting, setting and polishing – every step of every diamond’s life can be traced.

In a ground-breaking new step for fine jewelry, records of this verification have been logged on the Aura Consortium Blockchain ́s platformand can be accessed by Prada fine jewelry customers who also will be able to verify the authenticity of their pieces.

The journey of individual pieces will be accessible by Prada’s clientele, allowing them to trace the provenance of every aspect. This radical transparency on origins, sourcing and production chains gives a modern consciousness to fine jewelry, shifting outdated industry standards to mirror societal change. From its birth in 1913, Prada has always created «objects of luxury» – inventing items that, through precious materials and the highest level of Italian craftsmanship, are unique proposals for their clientele. They reflect timeless traditions, and the values and concerns of the modern world – ETERNAL GOLD is a new facet of this ideology. The debut collection draws on Prada’s heritage of style, its timeless fashion lexicon, to create pieces that embody eternal characteristics of Prada, conversing for the first time with the sphere of fine jewelry.

At the core of the collection is the Prada triangle – a powerful silhouette and universal shape that has become synonymous with Prada. Originally used as a mark of luxury by Prada’s founder Mario Prada, here the triangle represents the brand – a conceptual, wordless logo, universal in its resonance.

This debut collection proposes a foundation of neo-classics, everlasting pieces. Archetypes are examined, delineated and reiterated, the collection comprised of eternal shapes with constant resonance. Snake bracelets, heart motifs, chain necklaces, ribbon chokers – defining shapes and forms of fine jewelry, they are also signs and signifiers of affection and love. Gold is the focus – truly eternal, an ancient material timeless and constantly cherished, it is used in its true form and color, an honesty of metal that reflects the transparency of Prada’s supply chains. Prada’s own archetype, the triangle, is traced in every piece – an affinity found between Prada’s triangle and diamonds’ facets. The triangle appears as a clasp closure, earrings and pendants, while its angles shape chain links and hearts, the head of a snaked bracelet. Proportions are reconsidered – pendants are blown up, chain-links exaggerated to create impact. These jewelry pieces express strength, presence, passion. As with all Prada creates, ETERNAL GOLD is a bold reconsideration of the very concept of fine jewelry, an expansion of what its universe can represent. Combining technology with a fundamental humanity, aligning the notion of eternal pieces with a core commitment to sustainable and responsible practice, ETERNAL GOLD is a challenge to traditions, a break with conventions.

As it lays in Prada’s DNA to create a full on concept, the campaign – shot by David Sims under the creative direction of Ferdinando Verduri – celebrates exceptional personalities, whose creativities truly stand outside time, and that are championed for their talent and achievements. They are unique, like each piece of fine jewelry – and their contribution to culture is lasting. They include the award-winning American poet and activist Amanda Gorman; the American actor, model, and singer-songwriter Maya Hawke; and Dutch-Korean-Canadian musician Somi Jeon.
