Trending S/S 2019: Mickey Mouse

In honor of the 90th birthday of Disney‘s Mickey Mouse in November 2018, this cheeky adaptation of the famous cartoon character walked the S/S 2019 runway. Created using a printed 3-D technique, the top handle bag is enameled to reflect the character’s most recognizable depiction. It welcomes a debossed Gucci logo at the handle, as well as magnetic closure.

To be expected, this It-bag doesn’t come cheap, as it retails for CHF 3900. If you are looking for not so pricey options to sport Mickey Mouse, have a look at these fun designer pieces below:

My Look: Times Square

During New York Fashion Week, I had the idea to shoot an outfit post at Times Square. Brightly adorned with billboards and advertisements, this tourist attraction seemed to be the perfect backdrop to show this amazing gown by Athens-based Christos Costarellos. Ball gowns for day, why the hell not?! The Greek designer has been for quite a while on my watch list as I adore his couture techniques to create ethereal dresses inspired by ancient Greek mythology.

What I didn’t think off was that the temperatures were approximately – 5° C that day with heavy wind which created a chill factor of around -20° C. In fashion, not everything that looks so glam is always glamorous…

My Look: 100 Years of Bauhaus

From spiral staircases to curving chairs, the creative yet practical designs of Bauhaus are one of a kind. This year, the Bauhaus celebrates 100 years since its founding in Germany by Berlin architect Walter Gropius in Weimar in 1919. Until today, the Bauhaus Art School continues to shape art, architecture and design all over the world.

My beloved Mary Katrantzou dedicated her F/W 2018 collection to this fantastic movement – a testimony how art, culture, architecture and fashion are all linked together.

My Look: French Cancan

Friday’s dress code «Parisian Chic – Je Ne Regrette Rien» for the amazing  ASW Winter Weekend in Gstaad was so much fun. I went through my closet and put together some vintage and new pieces for this Cancan-style outfit. The tights incorporated excessive glitz that you cannot see so well on the pictures. I hope that you like it as much as I do.

Waist It!

When it comes to your waist, the golden rule is to keep it cinched. Belts have been making their presence felt on F/W 2018 runways — from Versace, to Elie Saab and Gucci. This little add-on packs a big punch when it comes to elevating your style while also slimming your silhouette into a flattering hourglass. When it comes to evening wear, the easiest way to change the look of a gown you sported before is to wear a belt. It is also the best alternative to altering.

Suffice it to say, the styling possibilities are infinite, as is the internet’s statement belt selection. Here, I’ve narrowed it down for you.
